Adam Lambert Makes a Bid for Eclipse Soundtrack

Adam Lambert, the American Idol Runner Up, talks with MTV about his song “Suburban Decay” and it would fit on the Eclipse soundtrack.

It’s a great song and I hope to perform it someday, and I think it will find a home, on a soundtrack or something … maybe ‘Twilight,’ ” he told MTV News. “It just didn’t quite fit [in my album]. It’s very theatrical. … It’s very campy, and it was just a bit too campy for the album as a big picture.”Although the vibe was all wrong for his album, it might be perfect to score the intensifying love triangle between Bella, Jacob and Edward. “Hey, ‘Eclipse’ … Want my song? It’s kind of about vampires,” he offered, noting a verse about “bloodlust.”

Um, I really don’t know what to say. I haven’t heard the song yet, so I don’t know. What do you think about Adam Lambert on the Eclipse soundtrack?

Eclipse was my favorite book in the series please don’t ruin it with this joker! I liked him during AI but he has become a pig. He is too stupid to realize that girls was his biggest fan base he would have done better to keep his lifestyle to himself and sing songs for everybody not just the gay community. The show he did for the AMA’s was disgusting!!! There are much better artists that could add to the twilight soundtrack that would represent it better. I would rather see Robert Pattinson or Jackson Rathbone add something than this nut job. I do think that Taylor Swift isn’t really got the right sound for the soundtrack but she would be a better choice than Adam Lambert. She atleast typically sings “love” songs and not “sex” songs—there is a difference. The Twilight Saga is a Love story and it should reflect that in the music they choose. They have done a good job so far and I have enjoyed both soundtracks although I desperately missed Rob on New Moon soundtrack. He has a great voice and has a feel for the saga.

Just wondering if you saw his performance on the AMA’s that is why people call him what they do. He became a joke! I think that people liked him on AI because he sang mostly ballads…he changed things and made them his own but the style stayed fairly true to the song. What I saw on the AMA’s was a man trying to force his opinion on millions of shocked watchers. He didn’t care that offended people and when you act that way…you loose your fan base. He has some very hard lessons to learn. He may be famous for a time but he will die out just like all the other “shock” artists. No yelling I just thought you might want to know why people are saying that about him. It may be rude but that is what they are feeling and he needs to hear it if he wants to keep his career he needs to know what people are saying and learn from it.

It may have been late night, but the show is not rated PG13, so anyone is technically allowed to watch it. The network was upset as well. He knew he was going to cause an uproar.

I honestly would not mind Adam being on the soundtrack. I know all you haters out there think he's disgusting but he's got amazing talent. An amazing voice and he's a nice guy. So cut him some slack. Geez, for all we know the song could fit the movie

… First of all, Not all of his songs are campy and theatrical. If anything, Adam's making the mistake going with Twilight. Twilight's an over-rated tween addiction, and IT disgusts ME.

Second, Adam's already a big thing. He did that himself with his TALENT. Something that the Twilight actors lack. Seriously, How many times can Kristen Stewart go … “N-n-NO! You CAN'T leave!” D:

And third, why do you have a problem with Adam's glam? Your precious vampires sparkle, for goodness sake. You call Adam a creep, and your Edward stands there in the middle of the night watching Bella sleep and listening to her breathe.

And yeah, I've read the books. And yes, I've liked them at some point. And I've seen the movies too, so there goes your excuse.

Lambert is the finest male singer of his generation. Listen to his album before you offer such ignorant critiques. His song, “Can't Let You Go,” will be released May 3 or 4 in the UK – take a listen and tell me another vocalist who could sing that track. This dopey film would be lucky to have him. So many closed minds here.
