We caught our first full glimpse of the most anticipated engagement ring — Bella Swan’s engaging ring from Edward Cullen!

The ring, which is described by Stephenie Meyer in Eclipse as -

“Nestled into the black satin, Elizabeth Masen’s ring sparkled in the dim light. The face was a long oval, set with slanting rows of glittering round stones. The band was gold — delicate and narrow. The gold made a fragile web around the diamonds.”

Stephenie Meyer collaborated with Infinite Jewelry Co. to design the ring.

Thank you. It seems everyone on here is in love with the ring and I'm thinking I'm being too critical. I don't have my book with me, but I thought the description was a large oval diamond solitaire surrounded by smaller round stones with the gold web design. Did I make that up? That's how I pictured it. How will she ever put a wedding band with that?

yeah I thought so, people in those years, unless they were rich, could only afford that kind of things. Of course he knew that already, and he said they were junked diamonds, just because if he gave it to Bella just like that, she would refuse to accept it and use it. Did Steph wrote it somewhere or you just overcome with that theory by yourself? I would like to read it!

You are so lucky. I'm careful not to mention anything TL related in front of him and God forbid I put in a dvd in his presence. I was actually glad my husband was in Japan when NM was released, allowing me to see it 4 times. I'm already plotting how I will get out the house for Eclipse (my fave) since he will be just returning from a one month deployment… “Honey, I'm going to the grocery store.” Two and half hours later he says, “Where's all the food?” LMAO

okay it says “The face was a long oval, (this makes me think either oval shaped or a oval solitare.) set with slanting rows of glittering round stones.(this makes me think that there is rows of round small stones surrounding the oval solitare maybe branching off the center stone)The band was gold-delicate and narrow. (thin band) The gold made a fragile web (filigree some where around the face or near the face of the ring) around the diamonds.
Maybe she will be one of those people that puts the engagment ring on the right hand and wear her wedding band on her left. There are people that does that cause it is impossible to match a wedding band to oval shapped rings flush against eachother. I have a marquee so i know the pain! I eventually had a custom made band to fit around my engagment ring.

I personally refused to read anything about the leaked script, but if I were you I wouldn't rely on it too much. From what I did hear it was a draft, not the final, and besides that, all the good scenes in NM were added because of input from Chris, Rob, and Kristen.

Of course, since the dress is really more a part of BD, I think they will leave that to the crew of BD to create and un-veil.

not crazy about the ring, but i wasn't crazy about it when i read the book either. and i HATE the description of the wedding gown too…ugh! anne of green gables….really?! …so glad the rest of the clothes described in the book are DIFFERENT on screen. Bella is forever wearing khaki skirts in the books…um…yeah…I can't even picture kristen wearing khaki skirts…just sayin'

It IS NOT THE SAME ONE USED IN THE MOVIE!! I emailed the maker of the ring and she said that the one you can buy was not used. the costume department made their own version of the ring for the movie. although Stephenie has approved the remake that is available for sale, it was not used in the movie. so there are DIFFERENCES in it. and also…the one that you can buy has turned people's fingers a green color, so be careful.

FINALLY, some sanity. Yes, the descriptions of clothing etc just had to be ignored. Khaki skirts on Bella (ewwwwww), creme turtleneck on Edward (double ewwwww). And yeah, the ring is hideous. It does match the description vaguely, which is also pretty bad. But seriously, they could have been much more delicate with it, and I would have preferred yellow gold. It does not look vintage at all.
For the most part, the costuming on the films has been much better than described, which is good (apart from the awful royal blue painters smock on Alice in New Moon, and the horrible too tight bleached jeans on Rosalie in Twilight).

So far everything that was in the script is word for word in the trailer. I hope you are right and that they changed some stuff because otherwise ALOT of people are going to be mad. There is alot that was not in the script that should have been.

Ugh…I'm sorry, but that ring (aka the easter egg with diamonds) is absolutely hideous AND it looks to big for Bella's little hand. Honestly, I like the one that you can purchase better than that thing. Suffice to say that I'll have to focus on Edward's face and block out the fugliness. First the ugly wigs and now this…Seriously?!?!

I agree! I don't know why people are complaining about how ugly it looks….that's exactly the way how Stephenie described it to look like. The funny thing too is that a lot of fans whine about how they would like the movie to stay more true to the book, but when they keep the appearance of the ring right on target, the crowd goes wild .
