FTW I get what you're saying. We don't want a Disney rendition, but we also don't want a 30 Days of Night rendition. This is a LOVE story. I hope Slade don't make it a vampire story. It'll lose so much. If E and B are pushed to the background,it's ruined. It's their story,not Riley and Victoria. I've been worried,too, about how this will play out. Hopefully,I'll be surprised. The book itself is not dark. Like NM, there are some dark areas,but stick to the story line. There's a lot of good hot stuff between E&B he'd better get right. Ya know wut I mean?

Exactly! The book isn't dark…only certain areas. When I think of Eclipse, I think E/B….I definitely don't think Riley. It's my favorite book so I really hope everything works out well. The emphasis they seem to have on the Riley/Victoria relationship worries me though.

Oh yeah,like everyone else—–leg-hitch has to be in there.I can think of several more I'd like to see on screen. Pant!! I wish they'd quit trying to appease 10 year olds and men. they don't appease us when they make these way out boring stuff for them.It's a chic flick. It's ok to add the fights and werewolves and stuff, but don't take out what we-the women- have been waiting to see, just to try to appeal to others who could care less. Most guys go only cause their gal wants them to and it is NOT a kids movie. Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!.If people let their kids read the books, what the &*&^% do you think they are imagining? So, I hate when I hear mothers say “oh,they need to make it G or PG for our kids. Duh! It's not a comic book or a kids book,so either take the book away or don't let them see the movie. TeamEdwardHatesMR–I'm in agreement with you .If they can make Avatar 2hr and 30min, WHY WHY WHY can't they make BD that long . I'd sit through 8 hours. LOLI don't understand how one movie can run that long, but they really watch every minute in these twilight movies. They do a disservice to the saga by cutting scenes. I think some of the best scenes were left on the cutting room floor. Maybe we could start a protest on here. Hahahaha

i know, i can't ACTULLY tell you what I don't like about her either, lol, I had never thought about it till she got cast as Victoria, I always knew I didn't like her but then she replaced Richelle & I was kind of like..Hmm, okay..WHY DON'T I like her

I am on-board for team spoiler free! *waves flag* I actually had a hard time the first time w/NM, b/c I was anticipating scenes from the trailers, etc. – many which didn't make the cut!

I'm going to try my hardest to avoid any spoilers, and also to not re-read Eclipse after about April, so that I'm not constantly comparing the book to the movie. This is my favorite book of the saga, so that will be hard! At least I have peeps here to talk to and help me stay strong.

I totally agree. I just want a good mix…and I'm starved for some E/B lovin on the big screen. I haven't read the you know what either, and I'm nervous about what everyone is saying about it. However, I know how much the actors care about doing the books justice (remember how Taylor & Kristen insisted on the movie theater scene in NM–one of my favorite scenes from the book and movie)…I have faith that they insisted on adding/deleting/changing things to make it truer to the book and to make us happy. I have pretty much zero faith in MR, but I believe in the actors and David Slade.

I do think that's the secret to enjoying the movie more…not reading the book right before you see the movie. Like you said, that way you're not sitting there comparing everything scene-by-scene and you're better able to just enjoy the ride as a whole. Read the book after seeing the movie. That's what I did with NM.

Interesting. Bryce has grown on me a tid bit *puts head down* but I still miss Rachelle. She left this eeriness in New Moon that I still can't get out of my head, this film was going to be huge for her. I still don't understand why Scummit had to let her go!? While I'm seeing Eclipse a bit of me will be saddened when I don't see her fighting with Edward. Though seeing Rob rip Bryce's head off will be the highlight of the film, >:)

Bryce obviously hasn't read the books, to say Eclipse is the scariest one, unless she's afraid of leg hitches and meadow scenes. The only scary part which wasn't said in the book, but I would love to see in the movie, is the newborn battle w/ the wolves and Cullens. Even Edwards battle is a blur to Bella. Okay you have a few little “chunks” thrown her way. But it wasn't scary to read.
I have no doubt in DS making a great battle come to life that we don't get in the book. But as for romance..I don't think he can. And as we heard from the script, he didn't. I know MR wrote the script, but he does have some say. Like adding things he thinks needs to be in there.
And I agree w/ you on the whole teenie bopper issue. If they read it, they can watch it. Plus, I saw twilight 20 times w/ my niece. And 80% of the audience where women 25 and up. Then the rest where upper teens. I may have seen maybe 1 or 2 younger kids in the movies, and I went to all different kinds of showtimes. My niece was always the youngest in the theater, she's 12 now. Same w/ New Moon. All adults and upper teens.
Not to mention, these teens see more on tv then they will in The Twilight Saga. I mean, oh my God, a leg hitch! Oh No…but you can see sex w/ teen characters in their damn bras and thongs on tv. PLEASE!!!!!!!
It just erks me.

that all makes perfect sense!!… I remember her acting in Lady in the Water, granted the movie was not the greatest but she did a decent job acting (not the greatest but decent) but as a person over all I am just not impressed… she just irks me and, like you said, I don't know why!!! lol and when she does interviews I CANNOT watch them, they just drive me crazy! It almost seems as if she thinks she is better than all of the other actors in the Twilight movies! (obviously she is no where near as wonderful and talented as Rob, K- Stew and Taylor!)

I'm all for team spoiler free, but I have always re-read a book just before watching the movie. After reading your comment along with a few others I realize that may not be the best idea. It really just made me angry in Angels and Demons, very angry! I have read the Saga so many times I really don't know if it would make a difference by not reading it, especially since Eclipse is my favorite and I've read it the most.

Now I'm trying to imagine not reading it for several months prior. Hmmm, better go read it one more time just so I don't have withdrawals going six months with no leg hitch, no proposal, no fire and ice!! *picks up Eclipse and starts reading*

IDK – I thought she was great in The Village. Of course I have been more a follower of M Knight than BDH, but I do think she has been great in the few movies I've seen her in.

BTW – I can't wait for The Last Air Bender!!! Every time I watch the cartoons now with my daughter I see Sokka and picture Jackson and laugh. Can't wait!!!

I used to re-read books just before the movie, but I found that really killed some of the LOTR movies for me – it was a more enjoyable experience when the novel wasn't fresh in my head.

For both Twilight and NM, I re-read just before the movie, and found myself searching for so many specific lines, etc. that it really distracted me from the movie itself.

The most i think I can go w/o reading Eclipse is 2 MNs, and even that's a stretch…

I know my hubby was waiting for Eclipse to come out. I keep talking about the book, and I told him, we'll go to the movie and you can get some pointers from Edward. LOL Oh I can't really say that, he doesn't needs pointers. I have my own Edward at home. And he's been calling me “love” since before this book came out. And loves touches and cuddles.

15 years together, It will be 12 married, and we still act like we're newlyweds. Holding hands, whispers in ears, cuddling every night. He's never calls me by my name. it's always, “sweeties my love” “I love you love” “you are everything to me, my heart and soul” And I'm not kidding.
He can't walk past me w/out touching me and giving me a kiss on the neck, or shoulder. He'll be at the computer and you tube a song, and then walk up to me and ask for a dance in the kitchen.
Right before our 10 year anniversary, he asked me to marry him again. And we renewed our vows.
Yep, I have it good!!!!!!!
And he NEVER leaves my side if I'm sick or in the hospital. Definately a great guy.
Okay…enough enough…I'm going to cry…Love him so damn much… “big smile”
Maybe that's why I love the Saga. It reminds me of him. My own personal Edward.

Let's see, why I don't care for Bryce. Hmmmm..Her Daddy got her the job for one….When she talks about The Twilight Saga, she obviously hasn't read the books. When in this interview, she can't even look the interviewer in the eye…when discussing Rachelle, how she got the job, the cast and her bonding…which is a sign she's lieing…Her answers are like they where scripted for her…She really doesn't seem to have her heart in this project…Also, why is she and Riley so all over this movie..hmmm..again..Ron Howards daughter.

PLUS…if The Vampire Diaries last episode had that kind of love scene, and it's on tv. Why can't we have a simple leg hitch, smoldering black fire eyes, and 1 shirtless Edward. I'm totally waiting for everyones reviews of the movie. I'm not seeing Eclipse on opening day. I was, 3 back-to-back shows w/ my niece and her tribe of friends, my treat, at the IMAX. Not now.
I don't trust DS to have our scenes in. And I will not waste anymore of my time nor money if I'm not getting what I want. Which is the book, as close at it can be. Which means, no R/V moments all over the place. I could care less about Riley. No Bella taking off on Jakes bike and leaving Edward standing there looking like a fool. I want my romance romance romance. I've been cheated on that for 2 movies. First Twilight rushing it, then I didn't get my good ending w/ E/B. in New Moon. Eclipse needs to make up for that.
Screw it, I mean fine, Rob's cute, nice eye candy, but I'm not willing to have Scummit make money ruining a great book. They don't take us seriously, and think we'll go anyway, just to see Rob, Taylor, ect…
I'm just mifted, I really want that relationship established more. And I've heard that it's more pro Jacob and not Edward.
Who knows, trailors and updates will let us know. but if it's the same as that script..no way..The only thing I like that their doing is the newborn vamps fighting the wolves and Cullens. We didn't get to visualize that in the book, so that's good to see brought to life on the screen. But please, no Riley everywhere..UGH..that's taking up good B/E time.
Twilight was good, but not great. B/E was rushed. New Moon totally established J/B. which was great. Taylor knocked it out of the park. But it lacked the B/E at the end. The vote, the proposal rushed. We needed that make up in the bedroom or the flight home. Actually it would of been nice to see both.
Okay, I'm really starting to rant. Probably because I've been up 24 hours and I'm testy. LOL Having some slight insomnia tonight.

I thought the scene in Twilight was too much for SM. and it looked more toned down at a different angle. Wasn't it in the uh montagie thing on the DVD. I'm just tired of Scummit underestimating us women, thinking we're stupid enough to overlook ruining our book, for a bunch of pretty young faces. Are we that stupid. Well I'm not. I want to see a movie, it's called Ecplise by Stephanie Meyer. I could care less who's in it, as long as they do a good job at portraying it. I like the cast, I think some of them are really good actors, and some will be with more experience, and yet some, this may be their only ride. I'm not naming names because I would be hung from the nearest tree.

Man, I'm on a role today. I normally don't comment much. Must be the lack of sleep. LOL Still can't sleep. DAMN..It's 6:40 here, been up for 26 hours. UGH…I think I'm getting slap happy. Geez, and I don't drink caffiene. haha
