Charlie Bewley Says Eclipse Will Be ‘Dark And Vicious’

Charlie Bewley (aka Demetri) talked to OK.co.uk recently about the Twilight Saga: Eclipse and how it is different from the first two films.

He told us: “David is a master of mood. Eclipse has this different mood about it, it’s dark and vicious. You get to see the brutal nature of vampires and what they are really capable of, which is something we haven’t really seen in the first two movies.”

And the star told us David works very differently to New Moon director Chris Weitz.

He said: “They are very different directors. David understands what each scene needs [to create the dark mood] – absolute fine tuning. He might stop the scene halfway through and just tweak something before saying: ‘Go back, say that word again and I want you to put the emphasis on that’.

“It’s very controlled and when I was on set I found myself not being able to be as theatrically elaborate as I was with Chris’ film. But that’s exactly why David has been brought on board – to make this a more real film. Eclipse is going to be more real.”

But Charlie says Chris was happy to let the stars develop the characters themselves while filming New Moon.

He added: “Chris is someone who is massively organised in his work and he is meticulous in his preparation towards something, purely because the stuff he does is on such a grand scale and it was with New Moon.

“He scouted out Montepulciano [the village in Tuscany used for the clock tower scene in New Moon], they visited every single village in Italy to find out the best place to shoot this thing and they got it just right.

“When it gets to set he knows he has done the hard work, really, he just needs to trust in everyone he has put around him and just very finely manipulate people.”

Dark and vicious?!! EEEEK!! I’m scared!!! In a very good way!!

June 30th seems so far away! *looks out at the snow* *sighs* Very far away. I can’t wait for Eclipse!

True, Immortal is the path bella has been fighting for since twilight. I guess to me eclipse was dark in a visual sense & emotional just from more characters than bella.

I think Eclipse should be darker as it should, aside from E/B love story, focus on the back stories of each cullen. i feel we should see them as typical lore vampires. I want to see them be bitten with fangs, lying in a pool of their own blood, look as lifeless and cold as possible and turn with the most piercing cry of pain. Then I would wish for them to expalin that they are now fangless due to the lifestyle they've chosen. i know it is very untwilight and like giving in to the whole vampire genre instead of changing it but i feel twilight needs it. I think when nonfans watch it, they keep anticipating blood and fangs but none of it so we (the fans) keep trying to explain what the heck is going on. I just so want twilight to capture the rest of the world coz I feel at times very lonely as other people either dont acknowledge it (except most of the time online) or just plain loathe it. i proclaim my love for twilight to the high heavens and my friends and family many times get annoyed so you see my predicament. I mean, it feels like i am talking about a silly myth like all the effing time.

I also feel MR is not too focused on twilight because she is on Dexter. Dexter is an award winning tv series so therefore most of her creative juices are invested on it. I hope with the success of both films, Summit and MR will realize that the fans deserve a good and well written movie. I just wish Summit will invest on eclipse and breaking dawn. I so want people to get out of the theaters fanning themselves out of the steamy scenes or floating on cloud nine due to the love story or feeling like they won the boxing fight due to the fight scenes. I pray for this Lord!

she has more creative freedom with DEXTER than with the TWILIGHT saga unfortunately. as of this season shes the haed writee and the exective producer so her money is making the show happen. and yes the show is based on a series of books by Jeff Lindsay. and I've read most of them so far. they are awesome to read let me tell ya. But there are so many more things that happen in series that have been changed with the screen writing. but there in lies the problem with any movie/series. theres always going to be things that on paper are wonderful, important and endearing. but theres just not always a way to convey on screen. and no DEXTER may not be as huge as the saga but in the world of film it may outlast it as far as howlong its newly viewable. and don't get me wrong i LOVE the worls SM and i could wake up there tomorrow i'd be one quickly single wife. all i'm saying is that with the saga they(the studio, writers, etc..)have to keep it friendly on so many age levels that the die hards may not always be happy which is unfortunate but a reality. but if

I finished reading it….and I think I am about to re-read it again … especially the first couple chapters, my fav!

the story made me smiled & giggled, and I couldnt stop reading mainly because I wanted to know what the heck is going on with McFadden family. And I was so Suprised (with capital S lol) about Yuri too when they were hiking. Crap! didnt see it coming.

and the flashback story about Bella & Edward in bathroom in their cottage house. and the scene of Jacob & Nessie in the rain and in the garage/car shop. It's even hotter than the twilight saga (lol) ugghh Nessie is really aggressive I love her!

Overall I LOVE the story, I wish SM would actually write life after breaking dawn eventually. the only think I kinda have problem with the story is .. the whole bigass dog (lol) turn into … well u know … I mean hence the name “shapeshifter” but still…

now would u plz be a doll again and tell me about WA? I think I've been living under a rock to miss this FF story stuff =(

I watched 30 Days of Night the other night and I didn't know DS was the Director until the end credits. I felt sick when I saw that as I really, really, really did not like this movie. I am hoping that Eclipse will be ok. Actually I hope it is much better than just ok.

I don't understand peoples dislike of her. She is a screenwriter and producer of Dexter, which is my all time favorite TV show.
