People magazine spoke with New Moon director Chris Weitz recently and asked him about Eclipse and Anna Kendrick’s Oscar nomination.
“I’m looking forward to the sleeping bag scene, I gotta say,” Weitz tells PEOPLE. “That’s going to be very steamy.”
In Eclipse‘s fan-favorite “tent scene,” – spoiler alert! – a freezing Bella, who is on the run from evil vamp Victoria, gets a warm-up from werewolf Jacob when he squeezes into her sleeping bag – while a jealous Edward looks on. The movie will open June 30.
Weitz also says he is eager to see Edward’s vampire “parents,” played by Elizabeth Reaser and Peter Facinelli, sink their teeth into Eclipse‘s more intense action.
“I have a special interest in seeing Peter and Elizabeth tear people’s heads off,” he says with a laugh. “Knowing them, and how kind of kooky and delightful they are, I’m going to find seeing them being ultra-violent very interesting indeed.”
Weitz, who is not helming Eclipse – director David Slade is taking over – says he is showing his Twilight pride on Oscar Sunday by voting for Anna Kendrick, who plays Bella’s pal Jessica in the series. (She is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role opposite George Clooney in Up in the Air.)
“I voted for her of course, because she’s my homie,” says Weitz, adding that New Moon – which is being released on DVD and Blu-Ray March 20 – would have been up for more awards if the Academy had a different voting body.
“If only the Academy were composed of teenage girls, I might be looking at a Best Picture nom,” he joked. “It’s a scandal that there are not more teenage girls in the Academy.”

Sorry Dee, but a steamy tent scene is not a fail. It is exactly how it is in the book.
Edward knows Jacob and Bella are cuddling and Jacob is TOTALLY enjoying himself. So yes, it will be steamy. Yes, he hates it, but he is mature enough to appreciate that Jacob is there for her. I love the part where he and Jacob are actually being honest with each other, too. This is SUCH an emotional part of the whole Saga, and a pivotal turning point for Bella. It is one of the best parts of the Saga.
And yes, the next morning Edward and Bella kiss some, but then comes Bella's and Jacob's BIG KISS, when she finally realizes she loves him, too.
But in the end, that is the best thing that could have happened for Edward, because that caused Bella to finally admit her true feelings, and make a decision between the two, and get closure with Jacob. She might have never done that if the tent scene and newborn fight wouldn't have happened.
She chose her supernatural soulmate (Edward) over her human soulmate (Jacob) and this eventually brought ALL of them happiness.
Thats what I thought but apparently someone is complaining about him. *shrugs shoulders* I won't be judging until the final film comes out.
I think I will wait on the fan fiction addiction Flowers_and_Cookies (Patzy). If I get sucked into any more of this my family is going to revolt.

It is one of my favorite scenes, because they actually start to see that the other guy is not the “horrible monster” they thought he was. That they both truly love Bella…

You know, even Edward is willing to put up with Bella's and Jacob's feelings for each other, because he know that his bad decision to leave caused them to feel that way about each other!
And Bella is at fault too, 'cause she doesn't want to give Jake up. She wants him and Edward both! She is in denial to her own feelings, just so she can keep them both! She doesn't protest Jacob's affections toward her unless they are blatant. She enjoys those “affections” 'cause she feels them, too!
And yes, Jacob did drag the situation on, but he LOVES her and doesnt' want her to turn into what he sees as a “monster”! That, more than even his love for her, is his primary motivation. And he knows that Bella is in denial! He just wants her to admit her feelings and make a decision based on the truth. And when she finally does, he lets her go by leaving. Yet when he returns, she pulls him back in.
Even Edward cannot totally fault Jacob for his actions. He knows Jake has Bella's best interest at heart. If the situations were reversed, he would do the same thing. He would fight for what's best for Bella.
Edward is mature enough to admit when he has does something wrong and that there are consequences for those actions, even if his intentions were good.
If it weren't for Jacob, there would BE no Bella for Edward to come back to!

5. Pick one of the options (besides GF one, duh! LOL)
6. Make sure NO ONE HAS THAT AVI!! Picking an avi that's in use is not well received. Once you get the hang of commenting and making friends, the avi is the easiest way to spot them. Multiple users with the same avi causes unneccesary confusion and sometimes, major drama!! LOL Please note that my Flippy Tay/Sorta Beautiful Tay/Wet Upside Down/Chopping wood Tay avis are dear and precious to me and I am liable to fursplode if anyone uses them! ; P
7. Hit save.
8. Drag and adjust (please note that best pics are usually in a square format beforehand and you won't have to do much fixing)…trial and error, trust me : )
9. Wait a few minutes and Bam! You are ready to embark on a new and exciting venture known as NMM/EM! LOL
