I think he is the most criticized director yet but the most successful one..I mean, before seeing anything by him, we all started worrying about how he would make the movie. Will he concentrate in the battle things and leave aside the romance thing? And a lot more questions…I was one of them, the non-sladers. But now I'm proud to say that I'm his biggest fan and I really feel sorry about my critics in the past. He's the best thing summit did in this franchise.
Last time – right after new moon's release, many twihards (apart from me) were saying Chris Weitz for BD. If it wasn't Bill Condon I would vote DS for bringing the movies to the screen and it is not enthusiasm or sth. I really liked every single detail in this movie. He is my man! Go DS and good luck in everything you ever do!

You are completely right.. he definately made the best film and didnt leave anything out. He also brought it more to life letting us see things that Bella didnt and i loved them and i love him for his perfect directing!

I totally agree, but I would have still loved Chris to helm BD. In all of our excitement for David we can't forget about Chris Weitz and the fantastic job he did with New Moon.

I always had faith in you and I am so glad to say you did not dissapoint!! thank you for doing such an amazing job with what you were given and making this my favourite movie so far. Thank you for pushing the cast and getting their best performances yet. Eclipse was my favourite book, and although there were many differences yes, you still managed to do it justice and give the saga the credibility I've been waiting for. The romance, the angst, the darkness, the humour, the cinematography, the effects. DS brought it all to life. And the man brought us that epic leg hitch….what more can I say? lol

I had overwhelming confidence that you would do a terrific job in bringing action and drama to Eclipse after seeing your previous work. What surprised me was how tender some of your scenes were.

And thank you for re-shooting the tent scene. It was my favorite pivotal part of the book and I thought the tone was perfect. Your direction of Rob must have been spot on because he was indeed, “better.”

All in all, such a spectacular job under such unique and high-pressure circumstances. You have forever gained the adoration of thousands of fans and you deserve all the glory.

not to mention it was beautiful, in connected with every emotion: Fear, love, angst, passion, humor, happiness….and complete fulfillment of my favorite of the series….

I must admit; I was skeptical…I was even irate at one point; feeling that maybe this movie was written all wrong……..BUT! I was set straight when it ended!!!

I wanted nothing more than to get back in line and see it again right away!!!!…You have given us a treasure!!!! Thank YOU for making it fantastic, wonderful, beautiful and every other positive adjective I can through in there!!!! *applause! applause!!!*

David, thanks so much for listening to us and for making such a good film, I was blown away by how you did your best to make it as close to the book as you could, MS wrote as many lines in from the book as she could. I wish the movie had benn at least 20 minutes longer. The characters really came out this time, you really saw the personalities as you imagined them as you read these stories. You really got some great performances out of them, Rob was just as I would have imagined Edward being, he smiled more like he did in the book, he was so wonderful in the tent scene, calm and sincere and sad and sweet. And the bedroom scene, I loved him when he proposed, so sweet and nervous. The way he gulped, so real. I would have liked to see the fight scene with him and Victoria longer as in the book because they were both really good. My husband said this and he has never read the books, but would have liked to see more of them. He enjoyed the movie, just want to let you know that. Kristen was really excellent, and I loved that she smiled the most I have ever seen her in these stories. Taylor was really the breakthru performance here, I thought he did a great job. You took us seriously and what has touched me is that you realized that this film had to be made for US, the fans who loves these books and these characters, and not just for the masses. We will always remember you for this. I loved the movie, I have seen it 5 times and I plan on seeing it a few more times. Everytime I see it I notice something else, I really watch what is happening, and it's great. I could go on and on, the wolves looked fantastic, the scene with Bella and Jake as a wolf is priceless, everything, everything was great. I can only hope that our next director will do the same for us as you have done. Thanks so much again, it came out better than I could have hoped for.

I think its totally cool that they're reaching out to us fans <3 <3 I still havent seen the movie T_T (dont blame me,. its not released here ) But I am sure David Slade did an amazing job from what i saw from the trailers and tv spots XD!!

I LOVE THEM ALL!
They are the greatest and have continually showed how much they value us, their fans. I have NEVER heard of any other production team/cast reaching out to fans the way those involved in the Twilight Saga have. They lift my spirits in ways I never thought possible.
We have seen it time and time again…a newbie (actor/actress/cast) comes along and fame and fortune hit and BAM! They change. They move further and further away from US, the fans. Unreachable….
Not THIS TEAM. I don't care if people don't “understand” the whole “Twilight” obsession. It doesn't matter to me anymore. Knock it all you want and turn your back. It doesn't matter. Because NOTHING you can say will change my opinion of these people. They ALL have HEART! And they PROVE it all the time. They are not all talk. They are real and they listen and they HEAR us! To go to actual THEATER'S?!?! Are you freaking kidding me?! What an amazing way to thank us. Even if we weren't some of the lucky one's who were able to witness it first hand. They did it for all of us, to SHOW us their appreciation and I can't thank them enough. I'm not used to loving something so much and not being disappointed by it. It's great. Just great.

I liked the movie, but what do they have with the 2 hours? It could have been much better, I'd never be like the book but I feel like I enjoy the movies better as they're heading up to the end of the series just because they have a bigger budget and they're better done …

This little man makes me want to hug him!!! I like when people are involved with the Saga and put everything they have to work hard.
I like that he had another vision on filming this movie, he put accent on details, like the black eyes, the close-ups… he showed everyone reaction, you could see that they were using their powers (Alice having her visions and Edward reading minds) and so other things.
David Slade we thank you for your dedication and for your tremendous job you made with this movie, though the script was kind of lame sometimes. But I know that is not your fault.

I agree, hon. He is the one that has played out the romance thus far. Twilight was lacking the connection between E/B…there was not enough chemistry/connection in the conversations between the two. New Moon gave us a somewhat sweet Italian reunion, but it was still lacking the conversation (*cough*Meteor Speech *cough*)!!!! Eclipse, for me, has it all. Edward and Bella are finally up on the big screen. Sweet words, electrifying touches, taunting kisses, and the feeling that they do belong together. Not to mention the friggin LEG HITCH!!! LOL They are united in this movie.

I agree with everything you said. It was wonderful to have OUR Edward come to life.

GAH! I am either going to cry or take a cold shower! I can't do either… I am at work! LOL Love it!
