Director David Slade Tweets ‘Eclipse’ Studio Screening Is In Phase 1

David Slade tweeted this on Wednesday, January 27 about the the studio’s first screening of Eclipse in phase 1.

Twilight Examiner says this about David Slade’s latest tweet.

After months and months of reading Slade’s countless updates about the post-production process (which seems, by the way, incredibly taxing and tedious), it seems that things are finally coming to a head and the editing process is nearing completion.

A director’s cut of a film, of course, is not the final cut (and it probably won’t even be made available to the public). The final cut is usually reserved for someone in the studio, who can make a few adjustments here and there to make the film more presentable in the box office. Those changes, for the most part, are not usually drastic. (Obviously, with varying studio interests and agendas, that statement is a heavily case-by-case matter. Who’s to say how many changes will be necessary for Eclipse.)

For the meantime, though, this news means that things are progressing in the completion arena. While that doesn’t necessarily give us any indication of when we should expect the first trailer for the film (though prior speculations may still be applicable), it does mean that the film is that much closer to being finished and ready for the theaters!

I’m patient. I can wait for the trailer. Can we have a new photo from Eclipse though?

I was just thinking that maybe Scummitt is in over its head. You know trying to push out 2 movies in such a short period of time. What if they totally f**ked themselves and are no where near ready for the release date? Could that be why we have not seen Any footage what so ever from the movie? Just wanted to run this past all of you and see what yours ideas are. Just seems so strange that we haven't seen a peep yet when NM was everywhere by now. Leave it to scummitt to screw this up…

anticipation excitement. I did not really have that for New Moon because of
all the information Summit released. I am not saying that I did not
appreciate it all, because I did. I would just like to have a little less
info for Eclipse.

Roger Ebert gave it a fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. I don't really pay attention to all is comments…Star Trek (2009), he hated, to much of a purest…but I agree with him for the most part. When it is released on video I will check it out.

It's usually 3 months or so before the actual flim when they realease the shortest trailer version. So we're looking around March for our first one… :O) The longer one will come out middle or end of April.

He did do a good job! Especially when he heard about his 'friend' being 'you-know-what' and he freaked out and threw black paint all over the place. I actually got tears in my eyes for them…

I find that “Joe-Public” generally enjoys the movies that critics give back reviews too. Sadly, the only movies that get promoted, are the one critics push for. I'm thinking there's a scam somewhere in there, lol! Maybe a little…'I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine' type of commradery??? :O)

I hope we get another EW cover with the Holy Trinity! I'm pretty sure US Weekly is preparing the Eclipse one, and hopefullly they have annoucement for Breaking Dawn did you know I had a dream that they found a director for it, and shoot it was just a dream **faceplam**

I know we all go on about Kristen and Rob…but I'd like to see her do another shoot with Taylor. Those two are so adorable and have tons of fun together. Their last one was really nice… (and Rob can take pictures with me while she's busy, lol)

I agree! Some movies that are up for Oscars I'm not that impressed with! There are far more compelling movies out there!

That's why I like Rotten Tomatoes! It polls all the Top critics with the average critics. I love to read all the little quotes! We like to think of ourselves a critics in our house!

Some Oscar nominees I get, and some I think…”what in the world?” A movie doesn't have to always be deep, meaningful, sad and full of genecide to be a hit. It's good to laugh, joke and root for vampires too! lol

OK, let me give a disclaimer beforehand. New Moon is my favorite book out of the series.

With that said, I loved the movie up until Italy.

I did not like the reunion, I did like how they rushed through the post Italy scenes.

And major epic fail was the bedroom scene with her and Edward. Completely cut out the entire dialogue from the book, including the “meteor” speech.

But other than that, I loved it. I loved Kristen and Taylor's chemistry. I loved the opening parts and the movie theatre stuff. The dialogue was extremely cheesy in parts. And the Volturi was awesome.

I was just p*ssed after the first viewing because of the last thirty minutes of the film.

THE TWILIGHT BOOKS/MOVIES!! OMG I neeeeeeddd you in that class. Most of them are so against the books and movies and although the teacher always says to keep it neutral cause it will be horrible if a fight goes off *snort* Anywho… some girls are soooo ugh!! I was this close to throwing my books at them… Im not sure what the teacher thinks of them but she DOES like Jessica in New Moon LOL.. she said she's writing an article on the books but I doubt she'll let us read it. She was talking about how BD is so graphic and gory *snort* Talking about Bella's pregnancy and the honeymoon OMG!! I neeeeeeeeeeeeed you there

Aww I liked the way they split up the reconciliation I thought sappy Edward was done well. Although, the vote scene was really rushed, and I didn't like how Bella added in the “BTW I'm gonna wait til after grad” because that just felt like an afterthought in comparison to the way it was done in the book.

Rob and Kristen's performances were spot on. I just didn't like the rush factor. I thought the build up of her running and them them reuniting just didn't pace well. And what happened to the kissing outside like in the pap photos we saw. Ugh.

The Volturi scene was done very well. I was very pleased with that, but everything after that was rushed through. The bedroom, the vote and the ending. Just didn't like it.

But everything up to that was beautifully done. I actually loved all the Jacob and Bella moments.

I agree the acting was great. Kristen really brought it, and I was worried about Rob's acting bc I wasn't happy with how he did Edward in Twi…but he did an amazing job with sappy Edward And Tay's acting was obviously really good, except for the part where he said “Want me to put you in the hospital?” That part made me laugh, but the cheese factor was at an all-time high.

I hope they don't rush through scenes too much in Eclipse. Wishful thinking, huh?

Oooh yea that part in the book where he said “When I told you I didn't love you, it was the blackest kind of blasphemy” or whatever it was… I loved that part in the book!

No, I really doubt it. I think they are just trying to put some space between New Moon and Eclipse. Give us time in between.

They may also realize they just might have given us too much prior to New Moon. The media could have gotten too over-saturated with it.

I think they are just using different media tactics, that's all. They want us to really want it…beg for it. They want the anticipation to be high!

I guess that's what irked me was that from Italy on, those scenes were very important and crucial to what happens in the next book.

Jacob's character was given so much time and thought and expressed so well.

I felt like Edward should have had that time post Italy to be able to explain why he did what he did and what he had been going through those seven months. But it was just rushed through. Not happy with that at all.

I did feel bad for Taylor. He had some of the cheesiest dialogue to say. “Don't get me upset.” “Thinks are going to get very ugly.”

The Superbowl would be good but it would be really expensive. Summit usually does things the cheap, inexpensive way.

I will be extremely surprised and happy if they do it, however. I guess it could happen.

Yeah, Summit freakin' fails sometimes. What if they show the trailer during Remember Me? That would make people go see that movie if they weren't already planning to see it anyways. lol, If that happens, I'm pretty sure a lot of girls will faint. Eclipse trailer and then watching Rob in RM for 2 hours. lol.

Me i am happi that there hasn't been much put out yet about Eclipse … before NM there were so many trailers, either summit's or fan made…. didn't watch them i want to be surprised – posters great, stills wonderful, but some and i mean some studios put the best bits of the films in the trailers. ie: all the good jokes, or the main scenes and then your spoilt for the film…. putting the 'break up scene' in the NM trailer really annoyed me…. stupid… i agree with who said above i would think that E trailers will come out after RemMe is screened same studio and they want the publicity wouldn't surprise me if they put trailer in screening of RemMe… same studio, same actor…. if Sum..mut (sic) puts out multiple trailers *shakes head* i for one will be very disappointed…..
