OK guys, I am having a brainwave. (yeah, doesn't happen often) but, BOTH Rpatz and Tylr L said (some nm promo intervw) that eclipse COULD be a really good (funny/hot/action packed) film IF it was rated higher (not sure about the laws in US) so I am thinking maybe if some bits can't be put in eclipse (movie) cos of restricted audience laws etc, maybe we could tweet (oh, I don't know - ds/summit/ evryone) about having a Lmtd Ed DVD that's a higher rating so we could see those good bits?????? What say you all ?????
That way hopefully we will see LEG HITCH/ Bella begging/RIGHT NOW etc. Im really worried that some of those good bits are not gunna be in the movie release cos of those laws.......................... this rate thing is so stupid. I mean, in open channels we see so many sexy scenes, violence, and everything and no one cares. But if it's about showing a love story, it's consequences and the decisions behind it everybody complains.
In the hole world there are girls getting pragnant with 13, 14 year for many reasons. I think that showing that no matter how strong is your love and your desire you can still manage to control it and do the right thing should be a good thing.
I simply don't understand why Eclipse can't be a 14 rated and still have the leg hitch. maybe i'm crazy... or just not hypocritical.

But i agree with you. let's do something to assure the leg hitch and other scenes that are not just hot but very mportant to the story gets to the public

The MR hate is annoying, she get blamed for everything, and very little is constructive criticism. Have seen her get blamed for decisions made by CW. Anything wrong or that might become wrong later must be MR. And the Slade critiques for tweeting J one more time that E. is too strange. Bet it is going to great. Was hoping new moon would be great but it was a bit of a let down. the realness of twilight was gone. The bird sounds were to much, crow and twittering and sea gals all on top of the music. None of the things wrong with new moon was MR. The ones who complain abut her adding Jaspers back-story must have forgotten it is in the books, The scenes with Riley are not going to substitute romance scenes but dialogs in Bella's head and her reading the news papers. We have to know about the newborns and that is better than filming Bella and have a voice over.

I really love how he included that they're taking on "a much more realistic approach".

I see some similarities between Rob and Edwards charactor.

He is polite, humble, sensitive, always talks about his lady love so tenderly......and a lot of people think its impossible to not to like him.......and ......when he speak its like a lullaby..Ha ha ha.

They are wondering what can they sell in BD.

I have some suggestions...First and second are the production team will love to promote but Third one is the one they should have promoted and Fans wanted/want.

1. Jacob and Renessme Connection.(I am scared to use the word- love)

They know that they cant sell it not because Its totally wired but they cant turn 3 moths olds in to wolf girls and sell movie tickets.

2. Sex

Promoting sex is very tricky....They will if they can but there are a lot of young fans. So they are still considering this option.

3. Promote the beautiful love story -
Edwards determination and faith to save Bella from a near death. Bellas love for her family to be sheild. and Jacobs sencererity.

I dont know whether this is even an option for them as they are not sensitive and clearly undermine fans taste.

There's only one way they need to promote it - that's Twilight saga number 4 - (the wedding for # 4 and volturi showdown for #5). Simple.
But, BD is a DARK book. It's going to be very interesting to see how they can actually do it and bring it to life with the restricted ratings they will have on the film to show it to the twitweens......... It's gunna be a hard one........

Um. It's already out on the internet why they don't confirm Breaking Dawn.

I'm getting annoyed with the Romeo and Juliet connection.

R and J are just really annoying characters...
I don't get why EVERY romance movie out there has to connect to Romeo and Juliet. I mean, I kinda get why...

But Romeo and Juliet didn't really love each other. And the Edward and Bella story is SO DIFFERENT. I mean, suuure. With all the forbidden love and sh*t.

But people really need to stop linking the two stories. But I doubt that would happen in the next 10 years or so.

Agree romeo/juliet connection is crap. Romeo and juliet isn't even that great of a love story. And they need to stop trying to modernize the story and compare it to real life.

Plenty of Edward is good, but plenty of Edward without the TRUE story line is BAD. Just having Edward there, as a backup player to Jacob and Bella and to the baby vamps, victoria, etc. etc.... is SERIOUSLY bad and that is my biggest fear. It is NOT enough! I want the LOVE STORY. I don't have a problem with MR the director is responsible for the film not the screenwriter, the director can change anything he sees fit but Twilight and New Moon, which I love both, didn't fully convey the love and need they have for each other. They have a very deep, passionate love and they really need to get that across, and I think we will see that in Eclipse, with all the jealousy and everything it should be easy to see their love

Chris, Rob, Kristen, Taylor - all changed scenes in NM as they went along. It doesn't all lay in MR's hands. In fact, it's out of her hands once she hands it over.
I've seen David's other movies, and he's good. He's really good. I think Eclipse will be the best one yet. :O)

I trust him too. I just get tired of people ruthlessly bashing MR. We all know that if an actor doesn't like a line or whatever they may change it... the book just doesn't always translate to screen well.

Edward has to be the favored one. Jacob and bellas relationship really doesn't become intense until the end. Basically the first 400 pages or so is all edward/bella. But the jacob/bella intensity dissipates pretty fast cuz she knows that she can't split herself to be in love with two people.

I am more of an edward lover than a jacob lover, but being objective, i would just say that have to be true to the book and without favoring anyone, the book pretty much favors edward over jacob. Edward wins in the start, the middle, towards the end jacob starts to come into the picture with bella, but by the end of the movie its all about edward and them planning that WEDDING :)

Couldn't put it better myself. Bella knows who she can't live without. Now, do the 'powers that be' know about this, or are they somehow oblivious. Did 'MR script adapter' read this book (get this whole love story)?????????? Hope she is finally seeing the (twi)light...........

I KNOW i never got to fully understand Edward through the movies.

agreed - nm was just baaaad at that. They showed Edward as a pompous sod really, they so missed the point of it all - and the reunion at the end of nm - please! What were they thinking, squishing all that intensity into like 3 minutes at the end. Hopefully they get it together for eclipse - seems to be everyones fave book, and hopefully they can bring it.

I was upset by that too. I was looking for more of a reunion scene. There was so much emotion in those scenes for them to be left out. Where was the suspense??? Every time I read the books I cry during the reunion. Dammit I wanted to cry for that part of the movie too.

Oh Im so hearing you!!!!! I hope the powers that be hear you (us all) too. What is it with the 'let's make it for everyone, not just twi fans??' If they just stick to the formula of the book, and not write in their own little bits of wisdom they will earn a squizillion dollars as we will all go and see it 50 times at the movies (and drag everyone else along too - but it has the potential to be a damn good film anyways). I saw nm 3 times - 1st had to see it (twi hard), 2nd time cos I thought I'd missed something the first time around (alas, I didn't) and thirdly.....well, it is nm anyway, so, why not? So just imagine how many times I would go and see eclipse if I loved loved loved it???? If they stick to the flow of the book, without things being chipped and chopped around (like in nm - after it was all over with the volturi b & e just clung to each other for about 2 days before they even talked about their 'seperation' omg, that totally got screwed up in the movie, then almost as an afterthought at the end it's like, 'bella, marry me' CMON, they had GOLD written already, and they stuffed it) *sorry, whinge* SO, am trying to remain positive, but it's a little bit stressful. I think I need a trailer to calm down my nerves.

3 I've seen it 7 and I cry every time.

I cry when Bella is writing emails to Alice, THAT was done very well in the film, and wasn't in the book (i don't think). Some stupid film critic wrote that Ks performance was crap, but I thought she was brilliant in nm.

Crap in Twilight. I know I'm gonna get slapped but it was bad. She was so much better in NM.
Well for the premiere I cried for the opening credits. LOL Also the breakup scene and when Possibility was playing during the months of darkness.

yup its 200 soon to be 199 in 51 mins. I am the eclipse countdown at work. When I walk in I let them all know how many days left. I even got them all crowns and cards for the premiere. I have converted a few of them.

Haha ahsley is my girl crush too. Sometimes i wish she got casted for the role of bella just so i could see more of her. But ashley is definitely more of an alice than a bella.

But good for you with the med school thing. Its alot of info, but if u can just stay positive and keep yourself from not getting stressed, its not all that horrorful. I would love to do neonatal. I really love babies, but if something ever went wrong with a baby or if a baby died, i would just be too sad.


As for the birthing scene, bring it on haha. I don't get why everyone thinks its so bad. I've read it over a couple times and i am never grossed out by reading that part of the book. I think it is quite easy to bring that part of the story to life on the big screen.

I have seen enough gore in my life for it to not bother me. Damn marshmallows are going to ruin it for us. If you can read and imagine it you can handle seeing it. I want details details details.

My point is as a director david can do little things to give us a beautiful story with full of emotions and feelings. If he cuts the scenes too short then you will only get 5 seconds of leghitch 3 seconds of proposal,4 seconds of Billy.....so on and 10 minutes of fight scenes....

As casts mentioned earlier there are a lots of fight scenes and David tend to go darker...

Dont you guys agree with me if i say that CW should have cut the Bella and some random guy s motor bike ride and edwards being thrown everywhere in Italy and use that time to E/B scenes and voting scene towards the end of NM???

In New Moon, the only thing I was sulking about was the length of the apology. There was SOOO much good dialogue that was missed out... Also the 'Your hold is permanent and unbreakable, NEVER doubt that' line.
Basically, I wanted more sweet Edward :)

oh...I forgot about these beautiful words...Can you imagine if they had been in the movie and if there had been a 'teaser' or 'trailer' with Edward saying those words to Bella? soooo incredibly moving and truly show the depth of his love for her.

I think with Edward... you need to stick to the books.. Well, you need to with everyone really.. but it's a priority with Edward, because the language he spoke was so poetic and beautiful that it's very much a defining part of him. One of the reasons I love him so much :)

Yes thats my point.I am commenting on my own experience. A guy in my office did not understand why Bella went back to Edward (in the book she belongs to Edward forever from the beginning) and why she wanted to be a vampare and why edward was like that in that film....

He is new to twilight and has not read the book. (we converted him)... NM did not help him to understand the commitment of E/B ... so that i had to explain him again and again that they did not doubt their love for each other......I strongly reccomended him to read the book several times before he makes any judgements...

tell him to read midnight sun. Also in SM's website New moon section FAQ she explains the reason behind Edward`s leaving. :)

yeah, the connection between them wasn't something that was portrayed very well. Hopefully in eclipse, We'll see more of their physical love for eachother, and hopefully we've been given the Edward that all the fans fell in love with :)

Wow, I can relax now! I was so worried David Slade didn't understand the the romance and love triangle had to be at the forefront of the movie. I was worried he was going to let the action run the film. I don't want that. I want balance. I want more action than New Moon had, yes, but I want the romance to be delved into even more too. I know just because he wrote it on his twitter doesn't mean we know how the film is going to turn out or that the romance is everything we hoped it would be. But still, I can relax, knowing that the director sees balance between the two aspects gives me more hope about this aspect of Eclipse than I have felt in days.

Im glad that there will be more action in ecplise, but I have a feeling that there will be less romance. They have the Riley scenes (that were not in the book), the Victoria and Royce scenes, the Jasper in the civil war scenes ( Don't get me wrong I want more of the cullens in this movie). DS is more into action than romance. Robert was really upset with the script and Im not sure why. Is it just me or did DS mention Taylor more in his tweets than he did Robert. Maybe I'm over reacting, but they left out a lot of lines from New Moon to that I wanted to see. Im just afraid they will do the same in Eclispe. If you guys think Im wrong then just tell me to shut up :) or you can blame it on MR

I think David will do a great job. I've enjoyed his other movies, and since this book is darker than the others, it's right up his alley. He's told us too that he knows there's an important love story involved, so not to worry.
Twilight and Breaking Dawn are the only 2 books where I found Stephanie really turned the passion on. (besides the leg hitch, of course)
New Moon and Eclipse seemed to be more about all the messed up stuff that happens in between the 'beginning' and the 'end result'.
I get what you're saying though, and I guess we'll just have to wait and see what we see. lol (I hope it's a 3hr movie since the book is bigger? That would be sooooo cool!) I bought Edward and Bella's chemistry in Twilight, but for some reason, I didn't really feel it in New Moon??? I tried, but, something was missing in their scenes together. Sometimes I think that since they were together during filming, that maybe that sexual chemistry disappeared? I hope David found a way to get it back in Eclipse? (or maybe I'm just seeing things...)

I thought Eclipse was WAY HOT!!!!!! The sexual tension between E & B was just unbeleivable. (OK, and a little bit btween B & J - just amusing all the wolf girls here).......
And, I know they all get a bit stressed out about who is actually coming after B, (until she figures it - clever girl), but I thought eclipse was really funny - all the stirring "get outa my head" etc - I thought it kinda counteracted the tension about the fight.
BD will be dark - if it's done properly (burning man) well...... the first half anyways, but then again, you get beautiful Seth, and all the Jacob/Rosalie fights to counteract that too - good balance.

since you guys brought up this I have to tell you that I also got the feelings that Rob was not happy with whats going on in this franchise.....

I dont know about Eclipse but if you listen to him carefully he clearly was not happy with NM script.
He did not say it. But in German press conference he said that he was not in the movie and Unscripted interview ..he said that even CGI wolfs come before him... he was like making a joke but I got the feeling that he was not happy. I think its not because of he was missing but the way Edward was potrayed in the film and the focus of the films....and
he said in an interview that he did not understand why there should be more fight scenes in the Eclipse to get guys to see the films as it gives the feeling that boys cant appreciate a love story... and he said that he enjoyed Titanic and he did not think that it was a girly movie...

Thats why I am worring about Eclipse...Only thing we can do is get our message to David via twitter. It will help him in Editing process... Hopefully

i think you're right about Rob not liking the script as well. I sort of got that vibe from some of the interviews I read too. I remember reading the interview you are describing and I felt exactly as you feel. I mean, didn't we hear that the during the scene outside of Bella's house/next to the truck prior to Edward's departure, that Kristen & Rob added more lines to the scene? I bet they added the lines, "you won't want me when I am old" (something to that effect) and Edward says ' Bella, do you not understand my love for you at all?' and she talks about the 'soul issue'... I LOVE when Edward said that line, it was so REAL.

Edward's character has NOT been developed at all and I can only imagine how frustrating this must be for an actor. I truly am trying to believe that DS will get this, but if the screenwriter DID NOT, then the film will, once again, have a huge gaping hole where the true love story should be...:( ugh

Oh, I am nearly in tears now. rpatz has now just blown off the scale on my best man wo!meter. Do you mean that he gets it? That he has an incling of what us twihards want to see in this saga - movie wise. It's funny about titanic being mentioned, cos honestly, I reckon if Eclipse is done right, it could be as big *dream* as titanic. WHY DON'T THEY LISTEN??????????????? (yeah, nm just was tragic - they didn't put OUR Edward in it at all, did they?)

I blame everything on MR. I didn't read that Pattinson was upset about the script, but it wouldn't doubt that. MR can't write worth a damn about twilight (though she is awesome with her show DEXTER). They will probably get alot of things right, but they will probably end up overemphasizing the love triangle and leaving out alot of jacobs mean lines. I love both characters (edward more), but i think they must stick true to the book. They gotta keep the intensity and the emotions the same. Like you gotta have the bipolar jacob in this movie one minute saying bella i wish you were dead and then the next moment him begging for bella to forgive him. Then the edward and bella romance is great in eclipse...the leg hitch, the proposal, the night he "kidnaps her" before the tent scene, bella begging for it...like there are so many cute things between edward and bella that i hope they dont leave out. I know the love triangle may be appealing to outsiders, but to real fans, eclipse isn't about the love triangle and it isn't about riley's story.

But ya gotta remember, just b/c they shot riley's story doesn't mean it will be in the final cut of the movie. Might end up in the deleted scenes when DVD comes out.

But for now, i'm just gonna have faith. But, this is honestly the last chance I am giving to MR to redeem herself. Eclipse by far has the best plot and i think is a great story to bring to life on film and if she can't portray the eclipse we love, then she should just be shot.

The distinction between love and in love is very powerful. Like in eclipse, i still don't believe bella is "in love" with jake even though she says she is. All it is is love and hell she likes kissing supernatural guys i guess and she wanted him around as a friend. I still think only person she was in love with was edward. Obviously me and stephanie meyer would disagree on this point, but hey thank goodness everyone is entitled to their own opinions :)

I so agree with you about the kind of love Bella has for Jacob. It is a love that most of us have for our dearest friends, whether male or female, you know? When you can't imagine them NOT being in your life, but you know you will never really be WITH them. does that make sense? It's not the type of love that could EVER come close to the love that Bella has for Edward. So...hmmm.. again... this is IMO of course, but I think WE ARE RIGHT...and Stephenie just got confused for a tiny second.... *wink* *wink*

hehe we totally are right. Its like she totally got confused cuz in BD, she totally went back to normal and treated jake normal again. If she was so "in love" with him, i woulda expected her to act a little different in BD. But who knows, i guess its all cute for the team jacob fans and adds some drama into the story, which is a good seller. Drama always sells. But by the end, its all good. I might have to close my eyes jacob and bella kiss and her sobbing about breaking his heart, but i'll get over it.

I used to hate jacob, but i try not to anymore cuz i know he is a good kid. But i still find him boring...i just find the love between him and bella to be so uninteresting. Its like jacob really is a human and maybe thats why i hate him. he is like any regular modern guy. Nothing special. He has a good heart, but there is no bang with him. But with edward, he is like on a whole other level and the love between edward and bella is just orgasmic hahaha. Edward brings bella's life to heights it could not have reached in a normal world and thats one of the reasons why i like him so much and will never agree that bella belonged with jacob. And well meyer just really kills the jacob character when he imprints on renesme haha. Its kinda cute cuz he finally finds his true love, but also very weird and a reason why i don't get why people are so into jacob haha. But on the screen, i guess i can see why people like jacob...two words...taylor lautner haha.

But anyways, i really hope this film is great. I will support it 100% and even if it stinks in the theater, i will probably still love it lol.

She ADMITS to being in love with Jacob, and so does the author. Just her love for him doesn't compare to what she has for Edward.

so on the same page about jacob. When Bella kisses him in the book, I was so angry, I threw the book across the room. The Bella that loves Edward would NEVER kiss jacob....anyway, I think Stephenie blanked out for a moment, but came to and wrote Breaking Dawn...lmao! Edward's love is the love that everyone dreams of having. His love is special because NO ONE is like Edward. He is a dream-come-true character...not that he is PERFECT, because he is flawed...but that is why we love him. Because HE doesn't even know how wonderful he is, HE believes that he is a monster and someone to be despised and feared, not loved. That is WHY we love him...or why I love him and why Bella loves him.

Do you know what - I think you're absolutely right. I think if they give us what we want (the book formula goddammit) it has the ability to be an absolutely HUGE film. It could bring squillions of people into the twilight series (i know there out there - the twihards to be) and make them an absolute breaking all records everywhere kindof film. Eclipse is the book that everyone loves, and do we really need extra scenes in it (heard that Victoria and Riley have a pash scene - who gives a sh*t anyway, Edward and Seth kick their vampy butts - we don't need it to waste precious time) give us the book, it's a perfect book, and they need to keep it that way. no there is definitely not something wrong with you. There is something wrong with everybody else. And you know for Stephanie meyer being on set all the time and supposedly giving her input, i wish she would be a little more stern with her suggestions. I'm sure she doesn't want to become a burden so she probably just goes along with most things cuz she is a nice person. But if i was the author of the twilight series and I wrote these crazy emotional, dramatic, love books, I think i would do everything to make sure it was done pretty perfect.

Like for new moon, i love the added in action, but then alot of things were rushed. The totally rushed the ending and if i was stephanie meyer i would have been like hell no. And if i was stephanie meyer, i would really rip apart MR's script and tell her she is an idiot haha.

Summit and everybody involved get the story and new moon was definitely a step in the right direction, but still they miss the main points about these books. They always want to stress the love triangle, but these books, especially eclipse is about so much more than the love triangle. The love triangle comes to a climax towards the end of eclipse (the first 400 pages or so are all about edward) and its quickly dissipated by the end of the book and edward and bella are getting ready to plan their WEDDING (God i can't wait to see the wedding in BD).

But i think DS tweets have been pretty good so far. I love that he is addressing the intensity and bella and edward and how it drives the movie. Then ya got the jacob/bella intensity and the action to balance everything out. WHo knows, maybe they will get this one right, but I am so critical so if they leave out any cute moment between edward and bella, i will probably be really angry.

I dont think Stephenie was in NM set... I heard that Summit bought all rights to the films....

Its clear that Production team had a bad influence to this script. May be MR, CW and Actors did not have a choice.

It is really cute isn't it. Even when E gets real narky at her for going to La Push for the day, and drives right behind her til she gets to her friends place to do grad invites. There were a lot of cute/funny moments in it, and I am gunna try really hard to beleive that it will all be in the movie.
OK, so the plan for me is to stay positive about DSs tweets, and keep my fingers crossed that this is gunna be the one that will be delivered *sigh* - might need to go to my happy place.

I´m optimistic about DS explanations on how the view of the film is going specially because he is the director and he´s got the "scissors" to cut and to add what is important...I was worried about the fight stuff but after what I´ve read it seems that he gets the point...but one thing my friends...Eclipse is such a different book if we compare to NM so we can´t expect the same Jacob, Bella and above all Edward that after he makes his decision he´s going to fight for what he feels belongs to him ( until Bella proves him wrong) and that´s simply what he does...facing Jacob, facing Victoria ( and I want to see a real vampire fight) I want all Edward´s tenderness turn into outrage and revenge and blood...yessss...and in Bella´s approach all the kissing, cuddling, bed time, kitchen time...LEG HITCH...proposal...I mean it´s HIS TIME....

you're right! it's Edward's time now. NM was all about jacob and bella, how their friendship and love grows and etc... Now it's time for them to show Edward and Bella's love, how it's so bigger than anything and how it gets more open now that Edward can really control his thirst.

haha. I am EXACTLY the same. The book is WAY better than the movie. It feels alot more intamate, and Holy is alot more relatable. Hollywood likes to change and dramatise things. I want to read My Sisters keeper and I want to read The Time Travellers Wife too.. I may ask for it for christmas . . . I love how you noticed the twilight references. I do that alot too. I see a volvo and think of it hahaaa.Midnight Sun - you do not realise how much I want that book to be finished! I absolutely LOVED it! I used to like ThePrincess Diaries too, but the movies COMPLETELY ruined it. I honestly think Twilight was a good book adaptation if you compare them! I love twilight anyway, sure, it could have been better, but it could have been worse soo . . .

Meg Cabot used to be good, but I think she's turned into one of those authors who just writes and writes for money, her books just aren't as good anymore. I used to really love The mediator. But Twilight is just SOOO much better. I have read all of The Princess Diaries books, because I'm sad and have to finish a series, and NOTHING that happens in the second film happens in the books. And I had never even HEARD of twilight before the movie came out. I'd never seen the books anywhere, but now I'm crazy obsessed that it's pretty bad! LOL!. Have you read The Host yet? I think it's a really good book :)

The 2nd film of the princess diaries is all hollywood and NOOO books at all! But even then, I liked the 2nd one a lot too..
Even with the blue tones and the kinda bad make-up and some cheesy lines and stuff, it just has.. something, it just appeals I guess.. the story is just so perfect!

If you're talking about the host...which I think you are but I'm not too sure... my memory isn't that great..LOL. I love the Host. I found it really interesting. But it isn't as good as twilight. *whispers* I like the spider-monkey line in twilight. Shhh dont tell anyone :). I sobbed.. Right after we talked the other day I went to read it and I finished it and the last few chapters just made me cry so much! I never cried this much reading a book (not even with NM or with Marley&me) There was a point where it got to sobbing and I just knew that this book was brilliant (a)

Aww. I've been told it's sad. Marley&Me, everyone cries. I've never watched or read it though so... I don't tend to cry in books and movies, i just feel really really upset for about an hour hahaa. When I was reading NM, i skipped to the end to make sure Edward comes back, and ended up on the marry me line, which, if I'm completely honest with you, made me read it faster, cause no offence to him, but Jacob never interested me that much :) I watch the prom scene cause it's quite sweet and I like that and because Rob is beautiful.. don't even get me started! hahaa. I nearly cried at the end of BD though.. when I read the words 'the end' most heartbreaking moment in the saga... LOL :D

That was my favourite bit too. I kept waiting for the meteor speech in the film but it never came. lucy= GUTTED. I nearly cried at the last episode in Ugly Betty series 3. The only film I've ever cried in is titanic. I LOVE that film. I really liked the last chapter of breakin dawn though. I thought it was cool how stephanie took something that we all just accepted was how it was, and made us think about it more. I mean her letting him see her mind? so sweet.....

That speech was just MINE and they cut it! (Or maybe didn't even film it, I don't know, that's why I neeed the DVD.. LOL)

I had a teacher last year that gave me a C for my behavior in class (this means that I was always interrupting class and stuff and that she is not pleased) just because I was laughing at a joke the girl in front of me was telling me.. And seriously, it's just rude to ignore that joke, right? ;)

I grew up in a house where my mom always has spoken Portuguese to us, my dad always Dutch, and between each other it was English.. Other than that, I suck at learning new languages.. LOL

I get really frustrated when that hapens.. LOL. Talking of maths, we had a quiz today cause it was our last lesson before christmas. We had a sheet with pictures of celebrities on. Anyway, the girl on the table next to me, who we had to swap with, decided it would be HILARIOUS if she wrote rob'gay' pattinson on the bottom, knowing that I love him so much. she should have known he is the only celebrity I will go out of my way to stand up for.. LOL. (it was a pretty nice picture too, insulting him was just blasphemous!)

OMG that happened to me once. Everyone gets me and this other girl confused and we were sat next to eachother. I was sat there being good (like I always am..LOL) and my teacher was like 'LUCY STAND UP'. I was stood up for about 20 minutes, going bright red, bearing in mind I was 11 and this was my first week at secondary school, when he looked at me and asked why I was stood up.. and not cody. I have never been so petrified in my life! hahaaa. And yes, I did defend him, whilst having the oppurtunity to ogle his beautiful face whilst in a maths lesson at school.. hahaa. I was going to retaliate with 'SO ARE YOU!' but I thought maybe that would be a bit childish.. LOL :)

I'm reading "The Time Traveler's Wife" I started on Monday and I haven't been able to put the book down since... It's just soooo romantic and sad and beautiful and just everything... You should read it too...
I'm dying to see the movie now, but I'm scared of what Hollywood may have done to it.. And seriously, throughout the entire book were Twilight references (not very noticeable for non fans.. but things like: "It was a new moon." or "Across the street there was a Volvo" or "The room looked like twilight" (I'm just saying it off the top of my head.. :P) )

The only books that have held my interest from beginning to end are the books of The Twilight Saga (including Midnight Sun), I am the Messenger (by Markus Zusak, also veeery good) and this one..

According to a tweet from David a while back, they are using the New Moon models for Eclipse's wolves and slightly tweaking them. I wouldn't worry, since Davis *knows* how to create convincing creatures. Just look at his vampires in 30 Days of Night. *shiver*

All this makes me very excited - love to hear that the love story is so prominent. But, I do have one gripe that I've been thinking for a while.

Just about every other franchise has a theme that runs through the entire series. When you hear that eerie, fantasy tune come on your TV, you know a Harry Potter trailer is coming on. I loved Carter Burwell's creation of Bella's Lullaby and wished it could carry over to the other movies. Don't get me wrong, I liked the score on NM also, but there is no continuity. I understand different directors, I just wish Twilight had it's own theme.

"The intensity of the love story" makes me feel hopeful, then there are 2 references to Jacob.

Edward is the star here. He and Bella finally learn that nothing but death can seperate them or diminish their need for eachother in this novel. Jake is a secondary character... an afterthought and a preoccupation for Bella.

Please, please Mr. Slade. There was NEVER a choice for Bella, it was Edward all the way, right from the start. The fact that she ended up loving Jacob too was just what made her love for Edward heartbreakingly ABSOLUTE. She couldn't leave him, there was no competition, just a miserable dead-end set of feelings for her best friend. Sorry that sounds harsh, but that's what Jake was to her in the book. Jake and Bella's feelings for eachother and their story should be at most 1/3 of Bella & Edward's.

Don't eat me alive wolf-girls!!! Just calling them as I see them. Jake never, ever meant as much to her as Bella did to him; and it was not as much as Edward

First off, go LEG HITCH! For edward being in almost all of the 629 page book and jacob only really getting intense towards the end, i don't get how u can say that jacob and bella are matching with intensity. Like i know DS wants to please everybody and he knows everybody has their team, but you don't gotta spread lies. Of course edward and bella are in the drivers seat...when it comes down to it, the book is all about them. Why is it so freaking hard for people to understand. Jacob is a side story...the action is a side story...victoria is a side story...riley is a side story.

The only balance the fans want to see is edward and bella in the freaking drivers seat. In the first 400 pages or so, bella visits jake like 3 times i believe? So i'd sure hope that edward would be in the drivers seat. You can't make the characters both look like they are amazing. We all know that edward is portrayed as the most amazing character in this book, cuz duh thats what these books were written for.

I'm not saying leave out jakes parts, but when u think about it, he wasnt that strong of a presence in eclipse until chapter 22 (of what 26 chapters?...and well before chapter 22 (the tent scene), jacob did proclaim his love for bella). But like there is no way u can say that jacob and bella are as intense. Their kiss will be intense and bella sobbing about hurting his heart will be intense, but those scenes do not merit any balance. It's like your saying that 400 pages (or more) of edward/bella love is as intense as 50 pages (probably less) of jacob/bella...i dont think so.

Its great for jacob lovers, that jacob got his moment with bella. But i dont think even the true jacob fans want to see him with bella anyways so you dont gotta make it seem like jake and bella have all this sexual tension and are so in love. cuz its just false. Nothing can beat the connection that edward and bella have in the book and nothing can beat the connection that rob and kristin have on screen as edward and bella. Taylor lautner is great and a great actor, but kristen is still more connected with rob than she is with taylor.

Just get the freakin story right i hope. Its not rocket science. I wish i could direct this movie already. Haha...but thanks for the tweets DS and at least u made it clear that we are gonna see some romance and not all just war, war, war.

Thanks for the "props". I'm extremely worried that this whole franchise is going off in the wrong direction with the "love triangle". It may have been a triangle, but it was certainly NOT and equilateral one... Taylor's spot in Bella's heart was a small in comparison to Edward's. AT NO point did she say she felt like she was torn in two over them. Edward is the lover of her life. Jacob is her very best friend (with benefits for what, like 5 minutes?!)

yeah freakin exams...got two more exams this week and then im free for XMAS.

I guess all we ca do is keep our fingers crossed. Like for all the talk about the love triangle, they almost got new moon totally right. Only thing they messed up is making jake look like a better guy at times and making edward more depressing. But i think for eclipse, rob even finally will admit that edward is not as depressing. i think rob will play a better edward this time around and im glad that he was intimidated by taylor so that he tried a little harder to make himself look good haha.

I think ultimately DS is gonna get it right....he seems like he knows what he is talking about. The only thing that will kill this movie for me is if they leave out either one of these scenes: leg hitch, edward telling jacob never to bring bella back in bad shape again and them saying to each other let the best man win, proposal, bella begging for it, all the passionate kissing and bella trying to take her clothes off the night edward "kidnaps" her, edward driving her to the treaty line to give her off to jake, and ya gotta have charlie having his moments with edward and edward being overly nice. And for god sakes make jake look good in spots where he was written to look good and when he is mean, freaking put those lines in the movie. If they leave out the line where he tells bella she would be better off dead, im gonna be so mad. You gotta portray the characters correctly and not just make them all dreamy and hunky. The only dreamy character is edward.

But i know there will be something disappoints me, but overall i think i will be pleased. If u mess up eclipse, then ur just an idiot. The book is so good, i would think its pretty hard not to make an awesome movie. But i bite my lip cuz of course u have MR and the stupid producers at summit that try to mess everything up. Oh well, gotta stay positive :)

Oh, I know about it being really hard to make into an awesome movie. most book-movie conversions are tough for me that way. This is my favourite book of all time though, so I'm really hoping Summit and DS (and MR, but I've almost lost hope for her) get it right.

Totally agree with you about Edward and Bella being the main characters. The saga is a love story between Bella and Edward. I hate this constant reference of a love triangle. As stated in the book, it was EDWARD that Bella could not live without. Summit and now Slade have given Jacob too much presence. He is a great friend and would have been a great boyfriend if Edward was not in the picture. But the fact still remains, Bella didn't have to make a choice, there was never a choice. She was Edward's from the very beginning. I am very, very, very worried about Eclipse. I don't think Slade will give the "Edward and Bella" moments a lot of attention. I don't think he gets that this is a love story not a story about a girl torn between to people she loves the same. I guess I have to just wait and hope for Breaking Dawn to finally get the story right. Chris won't let us down!

BS. THAT IS THE STORY. Slade is doing it right. read the book again and tell us why Jake should not be in the movie. GO SLADE!

Jake of course has to be in the movie, but out of the 629 pages of eclipse, u must admit that the main focus is on edward and bella. Jake really doesn't become a big character until the end with the tent scene (and well before that he did proclaim his love to bella and bella punched him). Pretty much the intensity between bella and jacob lasts 50 pages or so whereas the intensity and romance between bella and edward is pretty much the whole book. In the first 400 pages of the book, i think bella only goes and visits jake like 3 or 4 times and the one time, they just talk, another time is the tribe story, another time he tells her she is better off dead, and then i think the 4th time is when jacob proclaims his love for bella. But these scenes are big scenes in the first 400 pages....mostly the first 400 pages is dominated by bella/edward.

In the last 229 pages, maybe it is a little more even between bella/edward intensity, bella/edward intensity, and the war...but overall slade was right to say bella and edward in the drivers seat. And bella/jacob do have their intensity but on an overall scale it cannot match up to bella and edwards intensity. You cannot take 400 pages of B/E love and 50 pages of B/J love and say that the intensity is equal.

I think thats all we are trying to say. Jacob is of course an important character, but the main point of this book and every book is still edward and bellas love and all the obstacles they face. Jacob is the biggest obstacle between edward and bellas love cuz bella is in love with him, but still edward and bellas love get through that obstacle fairly easily. Bella and jacobs kiss was intense and passionate, but it is more dominated by her admission that she was in love with him, but it was never going to be enough...her loyalty and her heart still was with edward. So as soon as she said that it pretty much took the passion out of the air cuz she realized what she was gonna have to do to jake...she was gonna have to break his heart for the last time and make it clear that there could not be jacob's bella and edward's bella.

We are totally not trying to knock the jacob character :) We are just going by what is written in the book.

MSTG - You just reminded me - Another scene i hope they put in - when Bella tells Jacob goodbye for the last time, (after the fight when he gets messed up) and she drives just til she passes the border line at la push, then pulls over and has her meltdown, and Edward comes to get her - how precious is that.

I think when this film comes out, we need to focus on the bits that we really love, and forget about the bits that weren't put in it - otherwise there will be some serious mental health issues for us all. When I read the book I was sure Stephenie was going to make Bella not open the present, then kill J and have her open it after the battle to find the wolf. Was so sad before it even happen.

Summary

First of all, let me say that I do believe in true love. But I also deeply believe in the complexity, variety, and downright insanity of love. A lucky person loves hundreds of people in their lives, all in different ways, family love, friendship love, romantic love, all in so many shades and depths. I don't think you lose your ability—or right—to have true love by loving more than one person. In part, this is true because you never love two people the same way. Another part is that, if you're lucky, you learn to love better with practice. The bottom line is that you have to choose who you are going to commit to—that's the foundation of true love, not a lack of other options.

Next, Bella does not fall in love with Jacob in Eclipse. Bella falls in love with Jacob in New Moon. I think it's easy to understand why this fact doesn't occur to her. Bella has only fallen in love one time, and it was a very sudden, dramatic, sweep-you-off-your-feet, change-your-world, magical, passionate, all-consuming thing (see: Twilight). Can you blame her for not recognizing a much more subtle kind of falling-in-love?

Does this love devaluate her love for Edward? Not for me. For me, it makes that perfect true love stronger. Bella has another option. She has a really good one. An option that's easier in many ways, that takes nothing—like her family, present or future—away from her. She would have love, and friendship, and family—an enviable human future. But she chooses Edward over all of this. This makes it real for me.

Please do not misunderstand. Jacob is an important character and is essential to the story. However, the saga is a love story between Bella and Edward. I just hope Slade doesn't lose sight of the main focus. After reading each book, at a minimum of six times each; I appreciate each character but I hope to see more of the love beween the two lead characters.

im worried about this too...I love CW but he played to jacob's strengths and edward's weaknesses...this is the crux of the series...dont mess this part up...its really important that ppl see why edward is bella's choice...in the book it was easy to tell... i know u wanna play up the rivalry... but dont lose the unfathomable devotion that edward has for bella and bella has for edward... at the end of the day thats why she chooses him...the love there is unquestionable...

Its like they want to please everyone, but they are forgetting the true reason why people feel in love with the books....edward and bellas love. It seems that the producers do more to satisfy team jacob fans (the minority) than they do to satisfy the team edward fans (the majority).

In new moon, jacob was really made out to be alot better than he really was. Like come on, before he lets bella go into the house after she thinks one of the cullens is there, he tells her that he hopes she doesn't die (but of course they didnt show jacob saying that in the movie). Then the made jacob enter to make sure that bella was ok after all and made him look like a sweet guy. But in the book, alice knows he is there so she leaves before he even knocks on the door and the reason he says he is there is to make sure she is still alive and he brings along his wolf friends with him for protection (but of course we had to make poor jacob look so nice in the movie).

Like god, new moon was a step up, but i feel that the best part of new moon happens as soon as alice comes back and they go and save edward. And they just rushed everything and made edward look so freaking pathetic and depressing. I wanted to puke at points. The end where he asked her to marry him, he finally cracked a smile, but before that it was sad, sad, sad depressive edward. Like shoot me. That is not how i imagine edward.

Just give us our edward already and give the jake fans, their jake, but dont make jake look better than he really is and dont make edward look more pathetic.

They are still in the editing process. Of course Edward will have a presence, but Eclipse is really about splitting between Jacob/Edward. In many ways, Twilight was Edward's book. New Moon focused on Jacob. Eclipse will focus on both of them, so Edward has more of an equal presence.

New Moon is not about Jacob. The title has nothing to do with Jacob. New Moon refers to the darkest time of Bella's life which is when Edward leaves her and how Bella deals with the loss of her true love and her longing for Edward. Because Edward is physically absent from much of the book does not mean that the focus is soley on Jacob. New Moon was not written to take the focus off Edward and to put it on Jacob. Edward is in Bella's every thought . The entire time that she is with Jacob all she thinks of is Edward and what reckless thing can she get into to hear his voice. So his presence is very much in the book as much as jacob and more actually. He is still the main character along with Bella, because it is their story.

The books are not separate they make up the entire story of Bella and Edward. SM refers to Edward as the hero in New Moon. Hero meaning main character. And though he is physically absent for most of the movie/book he is always present to Bella . :)

I agree with you. This is the reason why some of us make a big deal about Summit trying to make this into a love triangle. When they try to make this into a "Bella is torn between Jacob/Edward and she has to choose" nonsense story, they are taking away the focus from Bella and Edward's love story. What Bella and Edward have is not some high school romance it goes much deeper than that. Something that does not exist in a real world. Making it into a love triangle is undermining what Bella and Edward have.

Exactly. When Renesmee grows up and matures into a woman let jacob get his own love story. But for now this is Edward and Bella's love story and that is what they need to focus on, not some ridiculous love triangle that does not exist. Bella realizing that she is in love with Jacob in chapter 23 out of 27 chapters does not constitute a "love triangle". and more so because she was never torn/conflicted. i so agree with you. these were the moments I was hoping to see on film, too. the sweet reunion, edward constantly touching her and holding her, and the plane ride home, kissing her forehead, her wrists, and each of them studying each other's faces.... all of that. It MATTERS to the story, because it shows the depth of their love.

as far as your random question, i believe they would put this scene (her cutting herself in the woods) before they would put the bedroom scenes, the 'bella trying to de-clothe Edward and herself' scene, the 'i want you right now' scene. it doesn't seem to be a problem for the directors to place other random scenes throughout these films, just NOT the true scenes that matter...the ones that matter to me anyway :(

i understand that not every line can be in the movie and that nothing will ever compair to reading the actual books. i hate to say it but i guess we do need to keep our expectations at a realistic level. no one other than stephenie can give me what the books did. the best we can do is enjoy what we're given and remember whats forgotten.

TEAM DAVID SLADE! I totally believe in this man and I'm pretty sure Eclipse will surprise all and turn out to be the best in the whole series.. OH AND I PRETTY MUCH HOPE THEY BRING BACK CARTER BURWELL!!! Alexandre Desplat is a pretty talented man and his work is awesome and all but I think it's just not the best choice for this saga..we need something edgier here.

Totally agree. David slade might surprise us all. I know CW has been getting alot of praise, but i still think new moon could have been better. But, with eclipse, the plot is so good, i think it would be pretty hard to mess up such a great book (but ya know there is the problem child writing the scripts - MR - and MR just loves to mess up this saga with her crap writing).

I definitely think twilight soundtrack was better and the score was better. New moon did have some great tracks and score was great at times, but really i think i watched fan trailers with better music than was used in the movie. Like when bella jumps into the water, the music was weird to me. When paul transformed into a wolf, music was really weird. Bella going to save edward, the score was pretty un-dramatic to me. I think best use of music in the background in new moon was with the wolves chasing victoria...i love that song and it was such an adrenaline pumper and was perfect for the situation. Not sure i could say that the rest of the music was put to good use. I still think they need more dramatic, emotional, heart-pumping music and score.

Yes! Then we can have Bella's Lullaby again, now that Bella & Edward are back together, stronger than ever. I want to hear Edward humming the lullaby in the tent to tune out Jacob's thoughts (after their long conversation, of course) and then the humming could blend into the score!

Bella's Lullaby, I dreamt of Edward..I want to hear these tunes again.. especially Bella's Lullaby I remember how I didn't like it at first because I had a totally different thing in my head reading the books and then it just grew on me..I don't know if they have the right to use it if they change composers but I hope they do if for nothing but the continuity of the movies.

I adore The Meadow from New Moon by Desplat - it is hauntingly beautiful and perfectly captures the feeling of Bella's depression in NM. however, that's over now, and it would be great to bring back the E/B romantic score music from Twilight.

David could be referring to the scenes in which there's a strong sense of connection between B/J, but she has to do what's right. Furthermore, there's a lot of B/J intensity in Eclipse, particularly when she tries to sneak into the reservation. Some fans may disagree, but it's a legitimate interpretation to say that there's a lot of tension between them in Eclipse due to the nature of their relationship.

I agree, I mean when I watched NM I saw their relationship more intense than in the book, and I think that is because I finally got to see the book on screen. It was the same scenes from the book, but seeing it on the big screen I could sense it a lot more. Even though Bella doesn't realize it until the end of Eclipse obviously Jacob sees it, and so can the reader, if the open themselves up to the prospect that Bella is human and can indeed love another.

I think seeing the interaction between Bella and Jacob in Eclipse will furthermore show the intensity that was truly there in the books, yet many seem to want to not believe that Bella could have feelings for another, yet she does. The book is written from her point of view, and she says in the end of Eclipse that she finally realized that Jacob was right, that she was in love with him. So the intensity was there between them, but since she did not realize this until the end of Eclipse of course she would not have the sense to mention it in her dialogue, yet Jacob did see it.

She could not very well talk to the reader about her feelings of growing "in loveness" with Jacob, as she does not realize this until the end.

Still I know her love for him does not compare to Edwards, I do believe any intensity we see on screen in Eclipse will be true to the books, as I believe it was there, just Bella was not aware of it like Jacob was, until the end.

Bella had already made her choice back in the days of Twilight not after she realized she was in love with Jacob. Being in love with Jacob did not make a difference and those were her words to Jacob. So I don't t understand the bella choosing Jacob/Edward when she clearly told jacob she never had a choice. She always knew that nothing would change because she cannot live without Edward. :)

Hey now, we wolf girls are not thick, well not all of us. I know the saga is about Edward and Bella and their love, but I also acknowledge that there was a point where Bella was in love with Jacob. Though this actually helps the love story between Edward and Bella as it is used to show what a great option Bella has, to stay a human, alive, with a great man, but in the end she finally comes to the realization that nothing can compare to her love for Edward, and she'd rather be with Edward than be a live human. It helps to show how MUCH she really does love Edward.

There are extremes on both ends, but I know there are many of wolf-girls and vamp-girls who see the story for what it truly is. :)

I even know of one who quoted from SM to back up the "Bella loves Jacob cause" but whenever SM contradicts what they say all of a sudden what SM says is moot. :)
Oh one more thing. I do believe that bella loves Jacob only because SM says she did fall in love in New Moon. I just don't see it especially in Breaking Dawn. But if Sm says Bella is then SM would know after all she did create the characters. i was referring to other things that they seem yo make up just for the sake of undermining Bella's love for edward.:)

200 days sounds so much better than 7 months! It's all in the wording. I'm liking the reference to "balance" because so much has been said about Eclipse being more action packed. I mean yes I get that the movie will actually show us the newborn battle unlike the book, but they need to show us the lovely dinamics between E/B, J/B and E/J/B!
