Throughout the filming process for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, David Slade made use of a very powerful social network – Twitter – to keep fans and followers updated on production. Not only did he tweet about the various stages, but he also sent along pictures of the cast and crew (including a very thorough – albeit self-proclaimed “occasional” – series specifically devoted to the set crew).

Unlike the filming process for The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was a bit of a pictorial mystery – aside from the very rare or perfunctory on-set paparazzi photograph – and David Slade’s tweets were precious in gaining insight into the on-set goings-on.
Over the months of filming, Slade delivered a great many updates, so to consolidate that information into one, digestible resource, here’s a compilation of David Slade’s behind-the-scenes look at The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

12:03 AM Aug 25th Shot with Rob and Kristen today, both gave great performances. Lots of frustrating noisy planes overhead but beautiful scene regardless.

9:21 PM Aug 29th Mr Taylor Lautner. A photo I took during early camera lighting tests. Not a whisker in sight.

3:53 PM Aug 30th Rehearsals with Kristen, Billy Burke and Rob yesterday. Third week of shooting just hours away. Preparation, preparation preparation.

Love this! Great job Amanda Bell! I enjoyed seeing David Slade’s tweets and twipics. I kinda wish he took a couple of twitpics of Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson!! 201 days til Eclipse!! Cannot wait!!

Relax ok? Relax. I think we all love these books, that's why we're on this board in the first place. I happen to be team Jacob, but I also like Edward. In fact, if I didn't like Edward or feel anything towards Bella/Edward relationship, why would I read Twilight and want to continue reading it?

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. Edward and Bella WILL be together… I'm not gonna take away Bella's overwhelming feelings for Edward and vice versa. They love eachother, I see that.

As for Jacob, I'm really not saying anything outrageous. In the kissing scene in Eclipse, Bella describes her thoughts and says that all of a sudden, she liked the way she was being held by warm arms, and she liked that Jacob was big and had these broad shoulders etc…that's really what I meant about the “feeling his body” comment. I didn't mean that on screen I want her to grab his crotch or anything. So please stop shoving that comment down on my throat again and again. I almost feel like I have a campaign against me now.

As for Renessme…I felt like she came at the worst time possible in Breaking Dawn…I was really getting into the honeymoon and I was totally feeling Edward, and then that happened. The entire pregnancy was too much for me….

Unfortunatly it is not Nikki Reed, but someones computerised idea of what she should look like. What a shame that the make up artists of New Moon and Eclipse will never see this.

It's quiet simple. It's not easy though. lol

I saw the movie Twilight first. In the movie I liked Rob, and then I saw interviews and read articles about him and liked him even more. I'm a fan of Rob's because he's beautiful and simple and humble.

But then I decided that I really needed to read the books…it was also a great past time until New Moon the movie…so I read them…and based on some stuff I read online, I was totally regretting Jacob's growing roles in the books when I got up to New Moon…but I began to really like Jacob…and then I sort of fell in love with his character. So here I am.

I'm a big Robert Pattinson fan…but in the books I'm Team Jcaob…but I don't dislike Edward at all, he's a beautiful soul…kinda like Rob.

Yeah, it's a dirty job…it's fun though, I've gone Switz for the movies…and I feel like they've become even more enjoyable for me. Lets be honest, Rob and Taylor are gorgeous guys…why not enjoy them both?

Yeah I'm gonna be a mess in that scene. Thank God wolves heal fast, because those were some terrible injuries.

i wasnt trying to shove anything down anyones throat, i was defending Renesmee -”the weird freak child”

she may have come at a bad time, but she brought a lot more to the story. it showed you a different side of bella, edward and oddly enough rosalie. I actually wish we could have seen more interaction between edward and renesmee.

as for the “NON-fight” …. how could you not be PROUD AS HALE of bella?? Yeah maybe a little action would have been nice, but im not complaining, she saved the day and she got her chance to shine and show everyone how strong she really was throughout the whole story. it was just tucked away behind all tht clumsiness.

i enjoy reading other people views on the books, it makes me realize how much i really do love this story. thank you

You're entitled to your own opinion. It's great you love Breaking Dawn…I'm glad that some people love it, because as much as I hated it…I love these actors, BD WILL be made into a movie (why the heck wouldn't it?) and I want all those BD lovers to come out in full force and go see it and make it a success. I'll go see it too…at least for the wedding and honeymoon…

No. She didn't have to settle for Edward. I'm not an idiot, I could see all along she was gonna pick Edward. That was kinda obvious. What I mean when I say they I wanna see the break up with Jake be difficult is that…well it is difficult. She's leaving her best friend, she does love him…just not as much as she loves Edward…but it doesn't mean she doesn't…that's Stephanie Meyer's writing, not some concoction of my imagination…

that's a pivotal moment in the series…it means that it's all official…Bella will be a vampire, her days as a human are numbered, her heart beats are numbered…she'll no longer be that same clumsy Bella…who's cheeks turn red, who used to spend her entire days in La Push…a part of her will die. That's why I want that scene done well.

I'm sorry…I cared for Rosalie in Eclipse, but after Edward acknowledged in BD that she was much more interested in the baby's life being saved than Bella's, I was back to not giving a rats behind about her again.

But it's ok. I'll never like Breaking Dawn. However it doesn't mean that you're not entitled to your opinion.

I just wanted to make it clear that by the “feeling Jake's body” thing, I meant what Stephanie meant…for a few minutes there, Bella did like what she felt when Jacob held her and kissed her. It's not me being team Jacob, it's just the truth.

I'm excited for Eclipse. I love all these actors. I feel like this saga is a big part of my life now. I love Rob, can't wait to see Remember Me, and I love Taylor and Kristen too.

at first I found the imprinting distrubing but not anymore, I mean think about Jake is not going to grow old and he was made just for her, I mean how easy would that be for us mere mortals, your guy is already waiting for you, and I found the Jake/Nessie relationship so darn cute.

Am I the only one who will be Gagging and Trying to stop myself from Puking when Bella actually obliges to Jake's kiss request? Ugh! I'm sure to be on the verge of hurling when i witness that in the theater. That is certainly the only part of the movie i am not looking forward to seeing. muahahahahaha!

I am totally NOT on team Jacob but I must say that is a pretty hot picture of him! Just want Slade to remember that EDWARD is supposed to be the hero… Bella loves HIM and even though she might love jacob in a way… edward and bella are inseperable!!! OMG!!! Love EDWARD!!! PEACE!!!
