Throughout the filming process for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, David Slade made use of a very powerful social network – Twitter – to keep fans and followers updated on production. Not only did he tweet about the various stages, but he also sent along pictures of the cast and crew (including a very thorough – albeit self-proclaimed “occasional” – series specifically devoted to the set crew).

Unlike the filming process for The Twilight Saga: New Moon, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was a bit of a pictorial mystery – aside from the very rare or perfunctory on-set paparazzi photograph – and David Slade’s tweets were precious in gaining insight into the on-set goings-on.
Over the months of filming, Slade delivered a great many updates, so to consolidate that information into one, digestible resource, here’s a compilation of David Slade’s behind-the-scenes look at The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

6:31 PM Aug 22nd Wrapped first week, probably most challenging week of our shoot. Last night Xavier Samuels delivered as astonish power performance, all good
12:03 AM Aug 25th Shot with Rob and Kristen today, both gave great performances. Lots of frustrating noisy planes overhead but beautiful scene regardless.

9:21 PM Aug 29th Mr Taylor Lautner. A photo I took during early camera lighting tests. Not a whisker in sight.

3:53 PM Aug 30th Rehearsals with Kristen, Billy Burke and Rob yesterday. Third week of shooting just hours away. Preparation, preparation preparation.

Love this! Great job Amanda Bell! I enjoyed seeing David Slade’s tweets and twipics. I kinda wish he took a couple of twitpics of Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson!! 201 days til Eclipse!! Cannot wait!!

hehe…those intense eyes from Taylor make me wish it was June RIGHT NOW…and I would totally walk to the theater…

But…I have to admit..I'm team Jake but Eclipse is gonna be rough for us folks…especially the end…idk what I'm gonna do…good thinkg I love Rob, so at least I can enjoy his beauty and acting on screen, because in the books I'm team Jacob…and his heartbreak in this movie…the way he helplessly sits there as she tells him she's made he choice…that “break up”…oh lord…getting emotional already..

Are you curious what they'll do with the 'human' scenes? Edward is supposed to be interacting with other humans in Eclipse.

I always love the human scenes. The cafeteria 'Bellas back' was one of my faves in NM.

You echoed my sentiments exactly. While I believe Jake was too good for Bella (though I do not dislike her!), a part of me wanted them together for his sake. And he would've been good for her.

Get the Story and the emotions right. Then each team will get the time they deserve.

Yesss! Jacob got the whole movie in New Moon, as he does in the book. Stay true to the story–and in the story, I think we know who shines in Eclipse. (pun intended)

Totally with you on this.

People by now should know which teams they are on. It's better if Slade sticks to the book and shows the love and friendship that progresses througout. As well as the intenisty of Bella and Edwards love, plus the whole fighting scenes.

I'm just gunna add to this, i'm re-reading Eclipse, and i feel like screaming at it. I hate Bella in Eclipse. Edward is so understanding and all Bella gives two monkeys about is bleamin' Jake. Oh she does my nut in.

Listen honey. BD happens to be my favorite book in the whole series, and I find it insulting that you call Edward and Bella's daughter a freak child, this is the ending Stephenie Meyer wanted. In fact I'm not alone in being a Jake/Nessie shipper. And quite frankly you are making it sound like Bella had to settle for Edward instead of staying with Jake, when since the beginning Edward was the front and center of her world.

You want Jake/Bella together, they advice you read fan fiction because quite frankly Bella never felt anything sexual towards Jacob, since you want to see her feel up his body in the next movie, granted she just got engaged so maybe all that feeling up will be done in a fan fic

i agree witht the triangle comment. and i dont care what anyone else says, and i said this the other day somewhere, but renesmee had me wrapped around her little finger just like she did everyone in the book. i cant wait to see her beautiful big brown eyes and long curls.

You know what really peeves me, this whole Bella feeling up Jake, ah did we read the same story? when did Bella want Jake sexually?

The only guy, she wanted sexually was Edward, everytime Bella said she wanted to claim Jake, was that of a BROTHER. Did someone in here read another story not written by Stephenie Meyer?

That would be interesting, but for some reason I didn't really fall in love with her character. I kinda like the cross-species thing, I think it would be fun to see a human girl. But who knows. Perhaps the movie Eclipse will make me love Leah. Shall be interesting!

For some reason NM reminded me of the old Hammer films with Christopher Lee, I kid you not. but remember the first two Harry Potter were a bit light and NM wasn't that fluffy I mean we got to see Laurent and the unknown vampire get their limbs rip apart.

Mr Slade made 30 Days At Night, Fluffy isn't his thing. I think he was the best choice for Eclipse, one thing I cannot wait to see apart from the Leg Hitch, Tent scene and meadow, Rosalie the Bride from Hell.
