Plus New Eclipse Stills! jacob black edward cullen eclipse stills eclipse bella swan According to Entertainment Weekly, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse earned an estimated $28.6 million on Friday, bringing the total over the last three days to $121 million!

With $68.5 million in its coffers after a record-breaking Wednesday plus another $24 million on Thursday and an estimated $28.6 million on Friday, the third installment of the Twilight franchise, Twilight Saga: Eclipse has earned a shade over $121 million and is on its way to a $200 million six-day total. The Last Airbender,despite the incredibly dismal reviews, should have a decent number two finish for its debut weekend. The M. Night Shyamalan flick took in $16 million on Friday after pulling in $16 million on its opening day for a 5-day holiday weekend gross that could total $70 million.

I just came back from watching Eclipse AGAIN! LOL! I absolutely loved it. Good news for Jackson Rathbone (Jasper) who also plays Sokka in The Last Airbender!

I'm so going to get hated for this. Eclipse could have been soooo much better…. to me it is clear that David Slade only cared about the fight scenes, because they were the only scenes that were half-decent. My reasons I didn't like Eclipse..

#1. If I wrote a paper the way David Slade showed the backstories, I would get an F for epic FAIL. Where was the dialogue? WHERE WAS JASPER AND ALICE'S FIRST MEETING???? Why did I feel like I was watching some low budget western “once upon a time in the Cullen past”?

#2. The camera cuts off and switches to focus on something else way too fast and way too often. Especially during the fight scenes. We're not vampires, we can't see what's going on if you go that fast. I felt like my eyes were flying all over the screen the whole time. Can’t appreciate it if you can’t see it.

#3. The acting. I loved BDH in Lady in the Water, but she sucked as Victoria. What is this, a theatrical show? She was way over dramatic. They should have KEPT RACHELLE. Maybe Jasper would have been better if the scenes were believable. And why was Bella acting so weird at the beginning? During her first scene and through the first half of the film her voice got all delicate and high like she was trying to be girly-girl Bella. Either poor Kristen was sick, or Slade thought it was cute. Riley, however, was fantastic. Bravo Aussie.

#4. Timing. WTF are we running for the gold medal at sprinting? Stop to catch a breath!!! It's like I was watching the whole movie on fast forward, pause, fast forward, pause. The film felt more rushed than Twilight and New Moon put together. If they had made the film three hours, I would have sat and watched it for three hours. Anything but that crap.

#5. What is wrong with Bella? It's like the writers couldn't decide what to make her into. Horny teenager? Girly doll? Tease???? Why did Bella suddenly decide to marry Edward? Is she suddenly attracted to bling bling now, or did I miss the part where he agrees to make love to her while she’s still human?

#6. WHY were the vampires suddenly made out of ice? In the second film, they made them crumble into stoney ash. Now they're ice? Watch where they tear off Riley's hand. His wrist is ICE. You can't just change something like that, it's like changing the cast (oh, wait, they already did that…). It ruins the magic of cinema. Jeez.

#7. The first two films each had a memorable, awesome scene with no dialogue, but a rocking song that matched PERFECTLY that ended up making the film complete. (Twilight: baseball and Muse. New Moon: Victoria, the wolves and Thom Yorke.) The closest this Eclipse ever got to that was when they were practicing fighting for all of what, a minute, and had some song played on low. Barely memorable.

#8. You call those fight scenes and violence? I’m sorry, didn’t I hear Slade say this was a “man’s film?” I thought this was PG 13? It’s pretty clear Melissa Rosenberg inched in her “it’s better if you CAN’T see it” mentality. I really wanted to see Rosalie get her revenge. All I saw was Rosalie wearing an “angry face” and a wedding dress. I wonder how many shots that took before David Slade thought it looked menacing enough.

#9. On a side note, why have a recognizable actress (Jodelle Ferland) if all you're going to have her do is tremble on the side of the screen looking dazed and confused? Poor Jodelle, I hope they paid her well for her time. There’s a load of time wasted when she could have been doing something decent with her skills.

Of course, there were some high points. Xavier was fabulous as Riley (again, bravo), the Cullen family were clearly all bonded, Kristen and Rob still had that chemistry, the Rob-Taylor clashes were good, and the lighting and color stayed with NM, so, good. All the regulars were great, minus a few hiccups with Jasper and Rosalie's pasts and Bella's strange new attitude. It wasn't all TERRIBLE, but the bad parts were bad enough for me to not want to see the movie again, or buy the dvd when it comes out. I'm really disappointed. :/

Thank you for reflecting my sentiments exactly. This movie was very rushed and nothing artistic about it like the last two. It was mostly true to the book but lacked any cinematic originality like “Twilight” & “New Moon”. I was also disappointed. They could have spent a little more on making the film. We are such loyal fans and deserved better. It looked to me like they just rushed it through. Hopefully the longer wait for the next one will give us more originality.

I do not know what to say. I'm a big fan, but … Some things could be better. Flashback Stories (Rosalie and Jasper) could be much better. Something is missing .. . Tensions and of course more on the scene, it is important to understand some things. For example, with Jasper wars of vampires armies in the south, etc, etc.

Maybe I'm wrong ….. For a couple of days I'm going back to watch the movie .. Today, I sat in the second row and It was very difficult to concentrate on the movie, Too close

I hope that next time I'll get a better impression … Sorry, Ah yes, at the end, i don't understand why Victoria sounds like she's made of ice ?? … .. The manner in which she lay on the ground ? Everyone laughed

Do you get me wrong, I love the whole saga, all the movies Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse, but I simply think that

BOOK – Eclipse – IS EXCELLENT MATERIAL, FOR MAKE AWESOME movie, but Something is missing here..

Little by little I am afraid for Breaking Dawn … It is much more difficult to convert that story into a movie, to make it interesting to viewers

Thanks, I'm glad you feel the same way. I so badly wanted to see Alice and Jasper's meeting, and I feel very sad for Xavier Samuel and Jodelle because they gave such great performances, they also deserved better.

I've only seen it once sadly. I'm still trying to decide how much I like it. No doubt about it, it was good, but did anyone else feel like it was rushed? Maybe it's just me, but the films need to last longer than 2 hours.

I've seen Eclipse twice so far and loved it! It was definitely fast paced, although the second time I watched it, it didn't seem to be so fast. I think when you're seeing it for the very first time, you're so anxious wanting to see & hear certain things, it's almost too much to absorb. So the second time, it was better. *SPOILERS AHEAD* I admit that I read all the reviews before seeing it and they were actually “killing my buzz” about the movie. Yes, the movie could've been a little longer and nobody would've complained. They fit A LOT in those two hours. The acting was sooo much better this time around & I loved that there was humor and the characters actually SMILED in the movie. I am 100% Team Edward and I just fell in love with him even more after this movie. Could he be any more adorable/hot/romantic/sexy/sweet?! The thing that was really getting to me was what a lot of people were saying about Bella's speech to Edward in the meadow scene at the end. So I thought about it & this is my take: I didn't look at it as Bella telling Edward that it had nothing to do with him, that she just HAD to be a vamp– I think she was trying to explain (since he's so worried about her soul and the pain that she's going to go thru) that it's not like she wants to put herself thru all of that just to be with him, she actually WANTS that life. I felt that she was trying to make him feel better, that she wasn't go to suffer with the “side effects” of being immortal just to be with him, but that their world made her feel stronger & more “alive” since she never really felt like she belonged in the human world. I don't think either of them doubts her love for him. And vice versa of course. You could tell by his <gorgeous> grin when he says “so it's not just about me”, that he is not upset with her or thinking that she wants to be a vamp even if he weren't around, I think he understood (and believed) what she was telling him.

Anyway, that's just my opinion and when I watched it the second time with that in mind, that whole scene made perfect sense to me. )

I was surprised that Bree's part was so small after all the hype about her. Riley was hot! Charlie was hilarious- loved “the talk”. I thought that BDH did a good job as Victoria.

As for Bree, I agree … Does not she should have shown the wild and unrestrained, hungry for Bela's blood. Bree is supposed to be a mirror of what will Bella become. It was supposed to show the audience, the character of newborn ….

Hopefully when you see it again, it will be better for you. I loved it the first time, but even more so the second.
