That may be overshadowed by actually seeing Robward mutilate Victoria! Finally, Edward gets to show off his raw vampire side! The testosterone should flow in that scene (as well as the following scene in the meadow!)

I've never seen any of DS work but I do think visually the movie is gonna be better than NM. E was my favorite out of the entire saga. I think this one should really be the best film. I just hope I'm not disappointed.

Not sure about that. I loved NM, and even its critical reception was mixed at best. Many critics seem to take issue with the material from the book, since the New Moon movie was criticized for its material (one extremely negative review said that the movie, "like the book itself", is Romeo and Juliet on training wheels).

I actually have faith in Slade. I think he's going to give it a new and better feel. Yes dark & edgy are great words to describe it. Eclipse is the freaking climax of the Saga! it needs to the best movie..it's a roller coaster of emotions t/o the book for me & i pray that the score/music doesn't suck b/c in NM it took away from the serious parts and made me laugh when i shouldn't have. ^.^

Honestly, you're assumptions and arrogance make you appear to be of a more immature age. If you took the time to get to know the people here, you'd learn that most are over the age of 18. We're all of different ages, colors, shapes, and occupations and it doesn't affect how we all enjoy the series one bit.

DS LOVES doing details justice in a movie! He is covering every aspect of Eclipse, get ready for a action packed movie all! Cant Wait :)

As much as I loved New Moon and I'm not tired of seeing it I'm salvating Eclipse, it's darker, edgier, grown up, the vampires finally come out to play, we finally get to see Eddie embrace his inner vampire and his Bella gets to witness it, Twi Hards, strap on your seat belts and prepare to be taken for a ride. Twilight Saga will no longer be snow white and innocent,red has finally come into play.

I am too. I am actually ready to see some darkness and a more morbid depiction of the saga.

Don't get me wrong, I still want the romance, but it will be nice to see a more grown up version of Twilight, darker colors, maybe some blood, some fighting. Grittiness, rawness.

I'm ready to be captivated, because as much as I do really like NM for different reasons, I haven't felt captivated yet.

exactly, i think thats why many enjoy the HP series in my opinion. its darker, edgier, and delivers a more grown up essence. im ready for a dark eclipse. we get to witness the true nature of the vampire/werewolf world its not sweet edward and jacob anymore which allows us to witness the world they live in more and the worlds bella has been introduced to. im excited! bring on the characters showing their animalistic side and their love/devotion amongst friends,lovers, & families.

No, I agree--if they're going to put it out there at blockbuster time--July 4th weekend--they're going to have to put it out there with an epic battle and all the works!

They're going to have to captivate--grab!--everyone--the Twiworld and the non-Twiworld with the excitement, the huge scale, and...the romance of the whole thing.

...and I'm really hoping the romance and the sizzling between Bella and Edward is exceptionally HOT in Eclipse!!! (To me, anyway, that is THE key!)

Watched it. Well, he is good at making music videos, I'll give him that!

...seeing him work with the music videos also gives me great hope for the music in Eclipse...the songs, their placement in the story, the score...all are crucial in how the movie plays out on the screen. I'm glad to see he has an eye and an ear for that...the timing. That's one of the things I've been concerned about with him.

...Now I wish we had a short video with the making of Eclipse...

I'm the same way. Sure there are things that I am curious about and the whole backstories thing that MR seems to be so fixated on kind of concerns me, but I am trying to stay positive until I see some footage.

I'm worried about Slade. I've been worried since day one, and while there are glimpses of the romance in Eclipse there seems to be a significant amount of time given to back stories. Jasper's is critical, but Riley's isn't. If MR (and that's a big if because she seems to have trouble focussing on the original work) stayed close to the story it would be a long movie. With the additional back stories in here, something will have to give.

If the tent scene is truncated in order to accommodate some insignificant back story of a minor character I will be disappointed beyond measure.

MR "got creative" in New Moon, but because we had the genius of CW the final product was fairly streamlined. I expect we will see MR's New Moon "creativity" in the deleted scenes on the dvd, which is exactly where they should be.

Well, like I said, I've decided to remain positive in regards to this movie--although David Slade doesn't have a very long record with movies and I was less than thrilled with "30 Days of Night" I still think that we have a lot to look forward to.

For one thing, Summit has a lot riding on this movie--like the continuation of the saga and millions of dollars to be made on Eclipse. Another plus is that the cast is dedicated to doing a faithful rendition for the fans--they all know and embody their characters and have done a good job for us so far.

I don't want to worry myself about how things "might be". I want to focus my positive energy toward this and hope for the best out of them all---after all, we all have a lot riding on this!

I agree with you on the $$ standpoint. Summit would be foolish to allow a botched up job. And, there are some directors who choose to film a lot of extra "stuff" so they have a lot to work with.

I'm not passing judgement on Slade as I'm in no position to do so. I can only go by the very limited access we've had to the production and MR keeps talking about her process (which scares me, quite frankly - LOL). I did enjoy his tweets very much and found them to be encouraging.

The name of the game with Eclipse is stamina, I think. It's wrapped long ago and there is a lot of time for post production where focus can be lost.

I am hopeful that he will give us something brilliant, funny, romantic, and a bad@$$ - I still feel a bit dubious about him, whereas with CW I felt the story was in good hands from the get go and never waivered.

...also about MR--she is always a concern in these movies--you just never know what she will deem important to the story in a Twilight saga movie!

I do love CW and his faithful storytelling abilities...he was such a joy to follow in his making of NM! I just hope that DS will be faithful to the story but still be able to deliver Ecllipse in his own vision--and that it will be awesome in it's own way!

The thing is with 30 days of night,once you can take out and get past the bloody horror, ( it was a graphic comic, he stuck to it to a T, it was suppose to be bloody) , look at the details.. the snow, the darkness the facial features of the actors, the detail into all the artistic photography of it. That I know DS will bring to Eclipse.. Beauty and details. :)

That is true--it was from a graphic novel and he did stay true to that. It just wasn't for me, that's all.

He does have a good eye for detail and his still photographs he has shown us on Twitter have really pointed brought that out for me.

...and I think the one still we have from Eclipse--of Edward and Bella--is beautiful.

Not to mention Hard Candy. He was able to capture the emotion from both characters. He is really good at getting the details and the emotions. Which is why I think they chose him.

Ok, so I have a question about Eclipse (the book)..
Do the wolf pack people have to be angry to phase? Or can they just phase whenever they want? :)
And when they've calmed down again do they automatically change back to their human selves or can they stay wolves?

I know you've had a lot of replies to answer this, but I want to add my 2 cents. Yes, when they are new werewolves they phase whenever they get angry and it is difficult to phase back to human while they are still angry. It takes time for them to control this, and it comes very naturally to Jacob because of his blood line.

However, they don't have to be angry to phase or to stay in their wolf form - that is the important distinction. If they hear a wolf howl, they phase to see what's going on. If they need to stay in wolf form they don't need to be angry.

Jacob and company change at will, but when they are first turn, it's not a good idea to be near them, that is why Emily got hurt now Sam being mature can control his temper, question, Jacob has got twins sisters, one being Rachel who Paul will imprint on in Breaking Dawn, yet they were not mentioned in Twilight, which brings me this question, will they finally be talked about in this movie?

But if they get mad when being in the wolf form they can't just change back, can they? (at will I mean)
I don't think they will pay much attention to his twin sisters because I don't remember them being discussed in the book.. But maybe in BD they will give it some attention, although it's not really important. And remember who's writing the script.. If she left out the Blood typing scene and the "Before you, Bella...." quote to you really think she'll put that in..? :(

Yea, when the wolves are really upset/angry they have a hard time phasing back into human form. They have to have their emotions under control, especially because they're all so new at phasing. Like someone metioned up there it's like a new skill, they have to practice.. and being angry never usually helps anyone practice. lol

Like with Sam at his beginning when he couldn't phase back because he was so...upset/stressed with the fact that he was a wolf.. So he had to calm down first before he could phase back, right? ;)

with all due respect if one loves these books than every aspect of the story is important, because Rachel becomes Paul's girlfriend. So explain how will you leave that out? or the fact that the Denali have not be mention not once? and they do play a MAJOR rule in Breaking Dawn.

I really don't think Rachel is significant enough to make it to the movie. Yes, she is Paul's imprint, but that is really only mentioned. The Denali's definitely need to be in BD, so let's just hope that DS set that up in Eclipse. There are a lot of things I am depending on DS to do in preparation for BD - especially the imprinting with Claire so Nessie can be loved properly. I feel better about DS now that I've seen Hard Candy (twice - it was great - but disturbing).

Flippy was speaking from the point of MR, and not her personal opinion of the characters. When books get turned into movies, a lot of the smaller characters that don't affect the main story get left out. I love the series and I'd rather have Jacob's sisters cut out than have more of my favorite scenes and lines cut out from the main characters parts in the book.

I think they can be angry, which can result in a phase but if I remember BD correctly that Jacob could phase whenever he felt like it. And at the end of Eclipse, Jacob is running and then he calms down and remains a wolf. I think they have the option of phasing back too... :)

BD totally confused me on that aspect, as well as the end of Eclipse.. Because Seth isn't angry or anything when he sits outside the tent to keep an eye out for any danger.. And during the fight scene I think everyone is just excited and not angry..
Because at the very beginning of them being wolves they only phase when they're angry, if I understood correctly from New Moon..
But still, the conditions of them phasing back are still kinda unclear for me.. But thank you for your explanation ;)

Same. Your correct about Eclipse and in New Moon it was only when they were angry. They usually start shaking and their fists tremble. It's still not totally clear for me, I think there just like "Time to be human again!" and then they change. Your welcome, just going by the books. I usually only pay attention to the vampires but then I re-read the books and fell in love with the wolves as well XD

It wasnt only when they were angry guys... Yes that made them change more frequently.. but they all could also change at will.. remember all the perimeter runs? Being angry just triggers it more frequently when they first become werewolves...its like any new skill it takes practice to get it down and under control..... And to be even more OCD.. they arent even werewolves they r shapeshifters lol... hoep this helps

Or perhaps Charlotte from Jasper's past. So she'll probably be in the flashbacks (and maybe even in BD?!).

Ben Geldrich - Yes, the most likely role that he would be is probably the 'John' from Rosalie's past, hence the "What did I tell you John,"quote from Eclipse.

Justin Rain - He will probably in the story of the Third Wife as one of the warriors. Who exactly? We don't know... He could be the Third Wife's son, for all we know. We'll just have to wait and see...

Hehee allow me to educate those who have read Eclipse only once, the story of the Quileute begins when they would use their spirits to fight their enemies, since they were a small tribe it was when the head chief was betrayed by one of his warriors, that he became the first wolf, and in the third wife story told by Quil's grandfather, the wolves joined to help their native neighbors who were being plaqued by vampires killing their women, the chief's sons go out and find the pair, they kill the man, not before he kills one of the wolves, than the woman goes to seek revenge on the village. which concludes with the Third wives sacrifice.

Very good, of course Eclipse is my favorite and I have read it multiple times as well. I also know film makers and am fairly sure that in the movie they will cut down the bon-fire scene to a reasonable length and for the flashback it will probably only show the 3rd wife story, as it is the most significant. Hopefully it will include Billy telling most of the story from the beginning, and I also bet they will have Billy tell the whole thing. IMDb.com does not show 'Old Quil' in the cast.

LOL I don't think they got the right picture. Because that korean 'Rain' is not Justin Rain. He doesn't have an English name or anything. But I think it's pretty hard to find a photo of Justin Rain. Since even if you did google 'Justin Rain', Rain Bi's photos are all over the place.

And... obviously, he doesn't look like a Quileute! He's Korean! LOL.
