Dear Laura and Lori

I would be grateful if you could distribute this statement to the fans of Twilight:I would like to address some statements that I made regarding Twilight.

When I made these comments, I had neither seen the film nor read the books. I was promoting a comedy short film that I had made for Xbox and every pop culture subject was seen as a possible comedy target. I was being silly and none of the statements were from the heart.

Of course, I have since seen the movie and read the books and was quickly consumed with the rich storytelling and the beautifully honest characters that Stephenie Meyer created.

I would like to reassure everyone involved that I am invested in making the best film that I am humanly capable of, and that I am acutely aware of the power of the original books we serve.

Please be rest assured this statement is absolutely from the heart.

Can you imagine the kind of pressure all the directors are under? Wow, you have guts Mr.Slade, considering all of the critiques made on the less than 2 mins long New Moon Teaser trailer…..

Well Mr. Slade, you better not just focus on the end scene with the fight. There are ALOT of important things that can't be left out, and better be done right. I can't wait for the romance between Edward and Bella. We all want to see that! The fight is very important, but that's not the only thing. I know you know how to do the fight, I've seen 30 Days of Night.

Bella sneaking out to see Jake and Edward catching her…I would love to see Edward following bumper to bumper and bella going, “crap” chicken through and through.
Also, the whole “Switzerland” part with her and Edwards little tiff.

Another thing, we're not asking for much here. If you follow the book, we'll be happy. You have the script in front of you, it's the book. If it wasn't good, we wouldn't of read it or liked it.
Don't forget, Edward starts to act a little more human through the books, being with Bella brings it out of him.
I am a little worried about you bringing the romance out on film. I really hope you take the time and listen to the fans, and really read the books. Eclipse is my favorite of the 4, and i don't want to be disappointed.

chill, M if he was not interested in doing this movie and doing it right he would never of signed on for this. I wish they would show him scouting for sets. where's Van City Allie when you need her. M I think he will do the best of his abilities and I do agree with you about putting all the nonfighting related drama in it. Rosenberg is writing the script as we speak and she will not turn on the fans

If David Slade stick to the book he'll do a fine job, Kristin and Robert will know what to do in the romance department. I just hope Mr. Slade don't skim over the emotional parts in his eagerness to do the fight scenes…what makes Eclipse so great is the continuous building of sexual tension, the fight is in my opinion just an afterthought.

Fire & Ice is the best chapter for me and Eclipse the best book for sure. Make the snuggle scene to keep Bella warm as long as you like. Remember the colossal fan base is not male mate but female. We are only into the romance of it all not fighting….keep that bit short. And Edward, Edward…..Edward and we will all be happy Twilighters.

david slade, you'rean arse. a silly letter won't cut it. i hope you don't butcher Eclipse like you did 30 days of night. the subtext of that story was lost in all the gory fight scenes. somebody shoot you already!

Yeah, I agree Angry. Dis Summit Executive Producers just pick someone who had already done the vampire genre? Give us a break …have a bit more discretion for what Twilight really is…a universal love story. Just give 'the Slayer Slade' the heave ho right now even though the pre-production has all been done!! Just leave the blood and gore OUT. Please. What made Twilight work & unique and soooo much different to all other vampire stories/movies…..Robert Pattinson and Stephenie Meyer's story.
