Ever heard the saying, “Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it,”? After seeing 1/3 of New Moon in the trailers I vowed to join Team No Spoilers. Obviously I would want to see the main official trailer, but not searching for every clip on the internet. Now I can't even get a teaser, or a photo of the cover of the movie companion that they expect me to pre-order.

I disagree. The Last Airbender had a teaser in July 09, and the movie doesn't release until July 10. I think they are trying to let the anticipation build slowly until all the twi-hards explode! It's not just the trailer that is missing. No photos? They are being so secretive about it all. Remember how many stills we had of NM by this time?

remember, this is a business = $$$$. its all about marketing, and marketing is a well thought out detailed science.
yes but NM was filmed BEFORE awards season so they showed it on mtv. they committed to showing a trailer on mtv so they did. were not in the kind of awards season to show eclipse. and i also just stated their not done editing eclipse. eclipse already got its first studio screening. but it was the director's cut. usually studios have to see it first in case they wanna edit it more. and before that, it was still in post production. these things take time, especially the pre- and post production phases. this isnt like heating a meal in a microwave. besides we already got one still of eclipse. and after eclipse finished, they wanted all our attention focused on new moon and the promo tour. thats how it works. one by one.
we didnt have any stills of new moon until june or july i believe or maybe even august. i dont remember.
OMG CAN'T wait to get this!!!! We'll be seeing lots of pictures no doubt lol. Now I think Summit has really heard us after what happen with New Moon. Now we must be patient with Eclipse since majority of us asked for no more spoilers. :/
i definitely think that Summit is just going to wait until Remember Me's press is finished and they have the opening weekend for it. I would guess that they want to promote that movie and get a wider audience, more money, and try to seperate Rob's films. I'm definitely convinced that we'll start getting slammed with Eclipse paraphanelia after March 12 and that weekend, lol.
And I was thinking today that maybe the massively annoying holdup on Breaking Dawn is due to Kristen's still-short hair. MAybe they're waiting for it to grow back out so they don't need to use anymore of those horrid wigs?? (no hate on Kstew here, love her, i'm just sayin we all know how *great* the wigs are in the saga lol)

David Slade said on his twitter it wasn't his fault. But I don't put faith on him so I don't know if he rely cares if the fans get some footage or stills of eclipse.

i totally wrote a similar comment down below. I agree with you 100% about the Remember Me campaign and raking in the dough. I mean, isnt their goal that transparant? all they want is the $$$$$ or else we would have had a d*mn eclipse trailer by now! NM trailer-may, NM movie-nov….6 months! that means we should have had an eclipse trailer at new years, not some silly photoshopped pictures (sarcasm) with a girl and her infamous shoe shirt!

if they showed it now, the interest for it wont be as palpable as if they showed it closer to the date. they also want and need new fans for the same reason = $.
by new years, the eclipse movie was still in the post-production phase. and only recently did david tweeted a studio screening. which means the studio saw it and will make some adjustments to it but their usually minor.

I am glad that they are coming out with this but come one we need a picture! I understand that they probably haven't had the photo-shoot for this yet seeing how Rob and Kristen have been doing other stuff since immediately after Eclipse was done filming, but we need something!!!

I believe David does care about the fans. Remember he tweeted information all through the filming stages. I believe that Summit is sitting on the trailer until Remember Me hits the theaters. They are not going to want the reporters asking Rob hundreds of questions regarding Eclipse when he is to be promoting RM. Of course, not like that is going to stop the reporters.
You know, if they have an Eclipse movie companion, then the movie should be about done, right? A trailer should be coming any day now. How can they have the movie companion already if the movie isn't done? I would say something more prolific but I am in the middle of reading WA and I want to finish it before I go crazy!!!!

While I will definitely see Eclipse more than once, I must say I'm not nearly as excited as I was for New Moon, and I believe that's due to the lock-down that those in charge put on the production of Eclipse. No one was taking and sharing pictures the way they were with New Moon, and they have given us close to nothing in regards to tidbits. Give us a still picture here and there, something, ANYTHING on a bi-weekly basis to get us salivating over this movie like we did w/New Moon!!!

Chris Weitz certainly had the fans more updated with like movie stills and trailers and stuff!!! Like I love the pics David Slade tweets but a lot of them you can't see which scene it's in!!! I really would love another still . . . or even better a trailer. For twiGod's sakes! Even showing Edward's noise with some cheesy music would do!!!

I completely agree. I really like Twilight but the first time I saw it in the theater, I left disappointed. I had even asked my friend, who had not read the books, if she could tell that Edward and Bella were so in love that they could not live without each other. She said she could tell they were in love. I loved what CW did with NM. I wish he would come back for BD.
