Well since we've got this place all to ourselves, which book did you prefer, Eclipse or New Moon?

New Moon I think but that's just because I really got into it with all the emotions...

Eclipse was brilliant BUT Bella was super whiney and I thought snogging Jacob was bang out of order.

Yeah New Moon was brilliantly written; really gets to you emotionally. My wife and I stayed up all night reading it because she was so distraught-she's very good at empathizing with others' feelings even just book characters.

But Eclipse has some of the best moments in the whole series. Like Alice's "This hostage stuff is fun." or Jake's "Does my being half-naked bother you." Not to mention the whole Ice and Fire tent scene.....but yeah I see your point. In Eclipse I liked Bella the least. Leading Jake on was definitely bad form. It's why so many wolve are so anti-Bella.

I went through similar stuff as Bella when I was that age (not vampire of course but close!!) and it was spot on...

I enjoyed the comedy in the last two books, but didn't like the characters as much... Esp. in Breaking Dawn which is my least fav in fact I couldn't take it and will never read it again... But I did enjoy the chess scene and the whole Rosalie/Jacob teasing thing...

ROTFL the Jake throwing the plate into Rosalie's hair had me in stitches.

I'm really amazed at how SM says she wrote none of that (NM) from personal experience because she WAS spot on. Having been a person's Jacob (in the holding on and pulling out of the abyss sense, not in the relationship sense) I have seen how devastating that can be and what it does to a person. SM did a great job at making the reader feel it too. And I'm sure you can relate to that better than most.

She is a very strange person, I watched a discussion about her writing on the tv a while after I read the saga and they were discussing how she had used the books to put forward her religious ideals about abstinence etc... and when you read the books again that side of it becomes quite... icky? The message is Stay Chaste and Do as Your Told by your man and you will live forever!! Hmmmm...

I love Twilight et al but Meyer creeps me out!!

Though New Moon was spot on with how devastating it can be at that age to be left by someone you love, it also put forth a bad message... or am I reading too much into it?
