‘Eclipse’ Reshoots in Vancouver With Another Director?!

What we thought was previously finished film, may not be -

Multiple sources have confirmed to me that some key scenes need to be reshot including footage between “Bella” and “Edward” in the meadow and a few fight sequences. They’ve been waiting for weeks to confirm dates but have had to work around Robert Pattinson’s schedule. Originally they needed 7 days but now, due to his other commitments, it’s been proposed that they work for 3 days with the crew putting in 18 hours each day. This should happen in Vancouver in the new few weeks.

What’s more interesting is WHO would actually direct the reshoot. David Slade is the director for Eclipse. But I’m told that apparently David Slade’s relationship with Summit has been… not great. Creative differences. At one point things had supposedly deteriorated to the point that they were actually considering hiring someone else to reshoot in Vancouver. Some of the names tossed around? Chris Weitz and Catherine Hardwicke. Hardwicke is in Vancouver working on another new film to go in the summer. They’re looking at delaying that project and Hardwicke has been spotted undercover checking out studio and location space for the Eclipse reshoot.

Having said that, Slade and Summit are now communicating on better terms. And there is still a good possibility he could come back to Vancouver to complete his film. As of Monday, no final decision about a director had been made. Will keep you posted.

New Moon feels too piece-y, not connected, trying to cram stuff in without the background and filler. Not to mention the clothes, Rose's birthday dress – yuck, Edward's sport coat – he's 17 for goodness sake, Jasper's hair, Eddy's lipstick – and the eyes were too much. I think CH had things right.

That said all this rumor dispelled … I hope Eclipse has a more Twi feel than NM feel.

yep, on the big screen….. the first time I went to see RM and the EC trailer was showing, I was speechless, and keep hitting my friend on the hand….and she was giving me the crazy look and asking me whats wrong, and why am I hitting her and I said SSSSHHHH, the EC trailer is on….LOL….she was looking at me like I just escaped from the mental insitution,LOL…. Ditto. The only thing I disagree with is that in my opinion Eclipse Edward is the hottest.. Everybody else look better in Twilight. Bella is really pretty in Eclipse but I thought of her as ordinary girl in Twilight..IDK..She is supposed to be like ordinary looking right?

I like CH's look most and I will tell you why. Edward is a vampire – gorgeous and frightening in some way you can't pin point … CH's Edward, the promo shot was exactly that. He was the lion. Bella, so sweet, funny and ordinary and self deprecating. CH's promo shot of Bella screamed fragile and vulnerable. She was the lamb. Their looks were spot on. The feel of the movie was small town, it was bleak, it was blue – but that bright spot in the small gray town of Forks – Edward and Bella

Was it perfect – gosh no! The meadow, blood typing and ALL of the sarcastic flirty banter between Bella and Edward was omitted. The movie was way more brood-y than it needed to be. But I still love it, more so than NM and that was my fav. book.

Agree, agree and agree.
The look of Twilight, the make-up and wardrobe were all imo superior to New Moon. But as far as story-line integrity, New Moon was better. Twilight was all over the place…CH forgot that this was not her little romp through la la land and that she actually had a story line to stick to. Don't get me started…(lol)

My problem with NM aside from the look (sport coats, Bella wearing way more makeup despite being on the verge of insanity, Cullen eyes too fake/too obvious), was it was like he had a laundry list of scenes; there was not alot of continuity from scene to scene.

I can fill in the blanks b/c I read it, but had to fill in my husband mush more on NM than Twi. I enjoyed NM, but I wish they would make a directors cut, with all the deleted scenes in the movie, in sequence. Oh and redo the make-up scene with full meteor speech and cut flash forward of Bella as a vamp – dress was ALL wrong!

I hate Catherin Twilight sucked because of her it looked cheap and was nothing like the book. In New Moon the stuck to the book everything was in I don't know if Eclipse will be like that but as long as the don't bring catherin back I am fine I think if they can't get Dave to come back to finish they should get chris weitz to do it. Cuz I know he was good.I would be so pissed if Catherin did it.

For all the people that are bowing down to CH for her Bella and Edward rather than CW you must consider the material. The first book is about the love in the beginning and the forbiddenness of it all. NM is when Edward is leaving. Of course CW is not going to give us a better Bella and Edward than CH…IT WAS IN THE SCRIPT!
