I love that line! It completely explains the title of the book and shows for the first time that Jacob gets it. He had to try to win Bella, and he knew deep down she loved him, but no where near enough because her love for Edward was so strong.

Don't understand how anyone could forget that line, however I've read the entire saga several times and Eclipse being my favorite....well, it's almost embarrassing how many times I've read it!

I just started rereading after a year as well. I was actually shocked that even knowing the books I still cant put it down, and I still am an emotional ball of mush!

ive read them all so many times and each time new moon still manages to make me cry :) and each time i read them, i find something new; its like reading different books, they get better each time i read them. :)

I was in bed this morning sobbing. My husband rolled over to ask what was wrong then laughed at me when I said the book. Guess they didn't make him as emotional

I'm excited about 11/20, to see the saga continue and I know it's going to be 100 x better than TL (due to the success of TL) - but it's 6/30/10 that I'm REALLY looking forward to. Yeah I see what you mean. I don't know, though... the "Eclipse" font looks a little edgier to me. Kinda brings to mind the tension in the 3rd book as opposed to the blossoming first love found in Twilight.

It does have a more "vampire-y" feel, I think...I love it! Cant wait to get a HQ pic of it!! :D

I love Renesmee!! I love everything SM. The whole Team Jacob thing I can sort of get b/c he's a great guy and has a sad story - and it makes things fun w/ friendly competition.

But I seriously don't get people who say Bella should have chosen Jacob, or changing any part of SM's story at all. This is her world and I feel privileged that she decided to share it with me and the rest of the world. How can anyone say "well, this is the way it should have been,"? Edward and Bella belong together - there is no way around that. When I first read BD I thought it was a little strange that Bella became pregnant, or that they were even able to have sex at all b/c I have been such a huge Ann Rice fan for so long. *soothing voice* Calm down, this was a short lived thought...

I realized, as with SM's non-conformity vamp rules throughout the saga - that I liked her having her own different rules in her world. AR's rules made perfect sense in her world and I still love my Lestat - no where near as much as Edward - but he has a small corner of my heart. Then I realized more importantly... What the hell is the point in being a beautiful, sexy vampire who exists for all of eternity - if you can't enjoy sex???!!!!!

So, long explanation to say - yes, I am fan of Renesmee and absolutely everything SM. I don't understand the controversy of BD - I wouldn't have wanted anything written differently. Even the non-fight at the end - it all totally makes sense and ties together.

SC, we are going to get along perfectly! Glad to hear you feel the same. I love the Renesmee plot and the Volturi mind-fight at the end. Would not have changed a single thing about BD!!!!

I kinda get both sides of the coin though- on the one hand you've got this vampire-hybrid baby with stunning unearthly beauty who fixes everything in the Jacob/Bella department, and on the other hand it feels too much like a Deus Ex Machina to me. I can't judge anyone's creative output and if that's how SM, the author of this brilliant Saga, felt that's how things should have turned out, then that's that. But Breaking Dawn is prolly my least favorite book out of the four, barring the fact that Bella becomes a vampire, so I don't worry too much about the details. *grins back*

My feelings about Renesmee, who I'm calling CGI baby now in honor of the BD film, is nothing personal. It is purely from an artistic standpoint. Stephenie says that she developed Renesmee ever since the end of Twilight but that is not the effect IMO by the time she is introduced in BD. It seemed like a very rash decision and, honestly, though Renesmee may be a beautiful person, I thought Jacob deserved better. Stephenie really short-changed him. Jacob suffered so much. He should've ended up with Leah, IMO.

I'm not going to argue about this character with anyone else, now, though. We all love Twilight so let's keep it positive.

I can respect your opinions - but I'm sticking with mine. I do think there are some interesting stories left untold and I hope SM will be adding to the saga with all the back stories for years to come. I would love to see Jacob & Renesmee after she turns 7 (read great fanfic on this). I don't see Leah with Jacob, but I think she deserves a happy ending and I hope one day she gets it. Man, when you think about it - she had it the worst! Jacob's life was sad, until he got Nessie. Bella went through some rough times for sure, but she got eternity with Edward. Leah just got screwed! Lost her man to her cousin and lost her baby-making ability. Really hope Jake was right and that comes back after she stops phasing.

Let me tell you at first I was not thrilled that Jake or even Quail for that matter imprinted on a child, I was very happy that Edward and Bella had a baby, (though I wish he hadn't flip flopped, oh I can't get you pregnant oh I just did).

but now I actually like it, and is true that Stephenie gave hints of what was to come throught out the first three books on why Bella couldn't let go of Jake, and don't worry I'm sure Leah will get her guy, Hello Nuahl!

actually the child is a scape goat on the Volturi's master plan take down the Cullen and take from them Alice, Bella and Edward. She is kind of like a new Demi Moore in a way. Demi got a really bad rap for some of her film choices in the '90's. She was a fantastic actress, but chose kick A roles and in your face stuff that women for the most part did not relate to.

I loved her in GI Jane. Who else could have done that.

That's why I have slight respect for Angelina. She is hot and bad A, but has the acting chops to back it up. Unlike, Megan who everyone compares her to.

Yes but Adventureland didn't do that great in the theatres and Welcome to the Riley's is pretty risque ... I live in Central VA so I know they won't put it in a theatre around me but like I said I WILL travel to see that movie :) LOL .... I can't stand Megan Fox she drives me crazy ... I'm not even really a fan of the Transformers franchise anyway .... But yeah I can't wait to see what Kris does in the future, she seems to have a knack for picking really good scripts with intriguing characters ... oh man I left Cake Eaters off my list of favs ... I´m shaking...but i wont be calm until the first images come as they did in new moon and proved that something was definitely going for the BETTER, I have many doubts fuel by some casts members diferencing CW and DS talking about director focusing on emotions and Technical director and that really scares me...so i´m here watching he poster but crossing fingers...

I actually like the poster without any of the characters on there. Because for some odd reason they feel the need to photoshop the hale out of them and have them in weird mucked up positions.

i really like this. it's like the quote at the end of the book, about how jacob can compete with a few clouds, but not an eclipse. when i thought of new book covers, this is actually exactly what i thought of :) so i like it

There is red! It's subtle, but that's how it's supposed to be. On the eclipse and the edge of the 'p' in 'Eclipse'. I saw an article or interview a while back discussing the proposed look of Eclipse, but it was just the word, no clouds yet.

Now that I've seen the more clear, crisp view of the Eclipse teaser trailer I can say I really like it. They represented the movie well, I think--you can see the fire and ice...also the moon eclipsing the sun (and we know what that represents!)

I like this poster. I don't feel like there's always a need to have a picture of the actor or actress on the poster. Sometimes simple is always the best.

Does the lack of pictures/info make anyone else worry how close the movie is going to follow the book? eclipse seems like a big secret compared to new moon. there were all kinds of pics on the set during the filming of NM and there was hardly anything on eclipse. I just hope they don't change it too much!!! and i hope that the focus isn't all on the fighting and newborns, its more about the love triangle and Bella choosing between Edward and Jacob.

I really wouldn't worry too much about it. Like some people on here have said before, I think they are just trying to make sure that Eclipse doesn't steal the spotlight from New Moon. And you also have to wonder if they just simply had better security on the Eclipse set than they did on the NM set.

Plus, I think with NM, the marketing people are trying to prove that this is going to be a better movie than Twilight was. That the special effects will be better and everything else. I think the actors have said (at least Kristen) that they really want to stay true to the book and will confront the producers/directors if they think something is too far off. I totally understand why you'd be worried, but I wouldn't be concerned just yet. Hopefully whenever the first teaser trailer comes out, we will feel better about it.

I'm actually pretty happy that Eclipse filming were held in secret.
And I have a lot of reasons, but I'm not gonna list them all now. Lmao.

I think they're being secretive on Eclipse is because they're trying to focus on New Moon.

I do think David Slade is going to make the film darker, I just hope he doesn't forget that this is a romance film also.
