My thoughts on the whole thing is, I really like Rachelle. And she is the closest to the Victoria I've pictured possible. Now. If she had decided she didn't want to do it anymore, I'd be sad, but that's life. But I absolutely HATE how they handled it! It was almost like…they were trying to tell the fans that she knew about it and was okay with it. When it happened, we all were confused, because, like you said, she was definately one of the most enthusiatic casts. But then I learn that she didn't even expect it?!! That makes Summit look really bad. And as much as I love Summit for making the movies, I do NOT like how they handled it, and Twilight fans will not forget.

I can't believe their replacing her! for one it's annoying haveing a different person compared to the original it just never seems right.

The other thing was it was only a 10 day overlap out of 3 months! big deal.

And lastly, I feel horrible for Rachelle, I mean Eclipse was the one out of all 4 where her part is a bit more important and she gets a lot more lines! The Eclipse movie was the one that would probably give her, her time to shine!

I know it did. They are reacting to cover their A*s! They know how upset everyone is so they are trying to sound like the good guys. Why did they only know of her movie on July 20th when she was on an interview way before that and said she was in that movie. hmmm. sounds fishy but I have seen several people say they wanted a bigger name in this movie and this was a good excuse. That is how this crap always goes down. Unfortunately.

I totally agree with you. They know they pissd the fans off and now they want to take it back. Rachelle could have done both. Cam had other movies to do and they filmed all his scenes first so he could do his movies. Why couldn't they do it for her? This was her characters time to shine and Victoria had a bigger part in Eclipse.

Fabulous email – great job. Unfortunately there seems to be a dividing line between Twilight the books and then Twilight the movie franchise. We fans of the books was more than impressed that the series are made into movies BUT unfortunately Summit (like all money grabbers), are more into what it could bring financially to them.
This whole recasting episode really leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Who's next?

Why what are we going to do? Boycott the movie? Would you? I wouldn't!! Sorry but I don't care who plays Victoria, she's in ONE scene in Eclipse and sure its a big fight scene but that is not worth putting the movie back for… I want Eclipse to go ahead on schedule and if RLF is elsewhere then so be it, bring in a replacement!

I agree with you AAE. I keep hearing that people will boycott Eclipse because of this. Bad as this situation seems, I refuse to boycott the movie! They replace Edward, different story……

No-one is going to give up seeing Eclipse because of a recast. Yesterday they were hating on Rachelle today its Summit. To be honest I think Rachelle should have been more forthcoming with her schedule, and Summit are right to go on without her. She isn't a big enough part to halt production for.

Every once in a while someone here comments something that is rational. On this occasion it doesn't seem very regular. Rachelle did a wonderful job at Victoria, but unfortunately, she was unable to partake in the filming of Eclipse. Summit mentioned in their statement that her scheduling conflict also conflicted with key locations that were only available for a given amount of time, and if her other commitment came before Eclipse, it's fair do's that she had to step down. And as for those who say they'll boycott Eclipse over this, we only see Victoria in the book once, and though I'm sure that'll go up a bit in the movie, it's still a very small amount of screen time for you to boycott a series you claim to be dedicated to. You gave every other new cast member a fair chance to prove themselves worthy of their part, it is totally unfair of you to not extend the same courtesy to Bryce Dallas Howard, who may well win your affections quite as much as Rachelle has, if you give her the chance. No one is to blame in this situation, not Rachelle, not Summit, and not Bryce, so for you to treat any of them with this contempt is frankly quite childish. Wasting Summit's time with complaints that won't get you anywhere, as it's far too late, will only decrease their chances of ensuring the entire series is done the justice it deserves, including the still uncomfirmed chance that Breaking Dawn will actually be adapted into a film. If you really want to risk not getting a fourth film in favour of an actor you have so far only seen in around three relatively short scenes, then your dedication to the series is questionable. By all means wish Rachelle well and show your appreciation to her, but think about it objectively.

Although it pains me to see Rachelle go, I agree with Summit. All of the Twiligt Saga movies are made ( or going to be made) on very tight schedules in order to meet with the popular demands of the franchise. It's hard enough to fit the schedules of the main actors around the time of filming, but to fit Rachelle's schedule around the movie would be irrational because, even though she plays Victoria wonderfully, it is a small part. In Rachelle's upcoming movie, she probably has a bigger part and I do believe that would be more benificial to her career and I wish her the very best. I know Rachelle was a great part of theTwilight movies, but I'm willing to give this Bryce a chance.

thank you…finally…as much as I liked Rachelle, and I really did, Frankly, she made a mistake that backfired. if Rob and Kristen, who are monumentially more saught after, can make it on time then she should too. Also, what summit was saying is that it wasn't that she had another job…or even the overlap that was the issue but rather that she left it so late to inform them, to be honest they (summit) could probably claim breach of contract and sue her but they didn't they just recasted. as an actor myself, I can admit that I too have made mistakes, but you NEVER even audition for another role without letting your current employers know. it's a massive industry “no no”. I hope the move will work out well for both parties.

and on a personal note. Bryce Dallas Howard is one of my favorite actors…really does things the “old school” way . she will do an amazing job i'm sure.
