Harry Potter and Twilight Fans Unite for Charitable Giving: Vote Now, Deadline Tonight!

Eclipse harry potter eclipse 560x117 Harry Potter and Twilight Fans Unite for Charitable Giving: Vote Now, Deadline Tonight! contest competition The Harry Potter Alliance has been hard at work trying to earn the votes necessary to score $250,000 in cash for very worthy goals through a competition Chase is running currently.

We’re teaming up with common fandom to support this effort, and encourage you to vote: the HP Alliance is neck-in-neck for first place, and if they succeed they can expand their effort of donating books (55,000 already) to communities in need, support LGBT rights and if all goes well, also form an online coalition of fan sites such as ours to encourage efforts to help with places in need in the future, such as Haiti where the Alliance has already raised a great deal of money on its own.

The voting process is simple and will take mere minutes:

Go to the voting page on Facebook and follow the directions to vote for the Harry Potter Alliance
Vote soon, as voting ends at midnight tonight and the HP Alliance is neck-in-neck for first place

I voted for them, but I'm not going to lie, I'm rooting for the Kristin Brooks Hope Center to win… I love that Harry Potter and Twilight fans have (finally) found a reason to work together, but suicide prevention is a cause much closer to me.

Alrighty, its 1a.m here in Chicago, and I got something to say before I head off for like 2 hours of Tv.

I think its really great that two HUGE phenomenons like Twilight and HP join forces for a great cause. We have such intelligent fans on both sides of the series, and they are extremely creative. I honestly think that we have as much power as huge celebs like Oprah or the Jolie-Pitt duo. Why? We have followers. A LOT more than people think we do! Imagine if every Twilight fan just donated a dollar..Hell, a penny!! We could make enough money to..Well, we could have A LOT of money!! Now, if we added the HP fan club into this…Get where Im going? Its amazing how much we would be able to do.
Mabye some creative genius will accidently click on this site, read my comment on this post, and start something HUGE!! *Sigh* Who knows.
