HitFix.com has now released information in regards to the supposed reshoot of certain Eclipse scenes that we previously reported -

Rumors and gossip have followed the “Twilight Saga” ever since the first film created an uproar at the box office a year and a half ago. From the personal relationship between the stars to who will direct which sequel, it’s been a non-stop job for Summit Entertainment to put out one fire after another. That continued today.

This morning Canadian gossip site Lainey Gossip reported that reshoots of two key scenes for the forthcoming “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” were occurring in Vancouver next week. The pundit also floated that because of “creative differences” with the studio director David Slade wouldn’t oversee the reshoots and that former helmers Catherine Hardwicke (“Twilight”) and Chris Weitz (“New Moon”) could step in instead. Because the outlet is based in the city and has been correct on a number stories regarding the franchise before, many media took the report with a hint of credibility which was a mistake.

HitFix has learned that Slade, who is currently overseeing the film’s score in London, would be headed to Vancouver himself to film what are obvstentively pick up shots, not reshot scenes. Pick up shots are cut into already completed scenes and can be necessary because of anything from bad lighting, a faulty print or a missing expression or line that was determined in editing. Reshoots insinuate a completely new scene being inserted into a picture.

Additionally, a Summit spokesperson told HitFix that the shoot has been planned for months, the picture is not in “trouble” and, in fact, the studio thinks it may be the best of the three so far. Considering, this writer has heard praise for “Eclipse’s” script, that’s easy to believe. The spokesperson also noted that reshoot timing is three days or less, is not a lot of material and furthermore, they do not involve the meadow scene or any action scenes whatsoever.

Fans will be able to decide their opinion on Slade’s vision for “Eclipse” when the film opens nationwide on June 30.

I dont think Scummit and co. used their brains in this at all. They have a different actor and no two people are alike so why use Carrot top as a hair model. Having a different actress you would think they would TRY and make the switch not so out there but they made it worst with the WIG. Rachelle's hair o how I envy she is exactly how I picture Victoria and the way it seemed to flowed on its own as it was in the book especially the showdown with wolf jake. A WIG like RepVic's cant do that its too stiff. I am still upset and I am not accepting BDH at all as Victoria. I know its done but still its hard to accept and it really just SUCKS.

I don't see why there's so mu drama surrounding this film. You get the following three things right and it'll be solid gold.

Leg Hitch
Tent Scene
Rock Hard Bouffant

Oh, so the last one could be interchangeable with a good script, which we're not going to get, so Eclipse won't be solid gold. But, IMO, if you get the first two, you can't go wrong.

I am not a fan of BDH never was…never will be. I have seen most of her movies and she isnt that great of an actress IMO. And it wont really matter how much “justice” she gives with the wig and being a different actress it will be distracting. Scummit should do some major role shrinking and good by the book Eclipse because too much RepVic will be annoying. Rachelle will definitly be miss. I dont like how they still seem to treat Rachelle. They did “can” her over 10 days Aug 17 to 26. they could have worked it out but they choose not to because their original choice BDH was “suddenly available” after another MAJOR MOVIE FLOP T4. And she was in a need of a MAJOR LIFT and so on…..

When Summit or whatever said that this movie is the best out of all the three, that's not really saying much. I mean it's SUMMIT we're talking about. They don't know what quality is. If you're to going to feel hopeful after this… I don't know what to tell you. Are you sure you watched the past two movies? They weren't… good.

But I have a feeling that David will bring something new. I think he will surprise us all… hopefully.

I'm just saying that… don't get your hopes and expectations up just because of this little article. You never know what goes on behind the scenes. You never know what those “creative differences” are. They're obviously sugarcoating their statements. Pathetic, I know. Well that's Summit.

Well, to me, if all I get is a great soundtrack, a life stream of the premiere with the entire cast in attendance, the midnight showing in an IMAX theater with twenty ft tall Edward, Jacob and Bella and the gang on the screen, a five day-long party with friends to beat all parties…well..I'll take that…

Hope the movie is good, that it faithfully follows the book, that the characters are accurately portrayed, too…but, hey, I have high hopes…I don't expect perfection…just a good time…I'll watch the movie over and over just like the others…with great memories of good books, good times…good friends.

ugh.. yeah the controversy keeps things interesting but things just seem to be going downhill. lucky i have faith in DS and eclipse is my favourite book or else i would have probably gone insane by now. i must say that after watching the new moon dvd extended/deleted scenes i am VERY concerned that scummit wants a 'stronger edit' because the editing killed NM. it would have been 10 times better had they kept in some of those scenes that were cut.

No, Eclipse won't be perfect, I know but I have a feeling once Edward, Bella and Jacob appear on that screen and all is said and done, we'll get right into the story and enjoy our time once again in Forks.

I will be forced to delete all of the RM and TR interviews/shows once the Eclipse stuff starts! I STILL have those on my DVR and refuse to delete them, just yet! My hubby thinks I am nuts!
