Peter Facinelli aka Carlisle Cullen of The Twilight Saga, has done so many different things with his celebrity from pleasing thousands of screaming fans at autograph signings, to helping out various charity organizations. In this interview with PFach, he talks about his home-life, charities and when Twilight had just begun.

Peter Facinelli had never heard of the “Twilight” books when his agent asked him to audition for a vampire movie.

“I said no. I was thinking it was some B or C slasher, horror kind of picture,” said Facinelli, whose agent quickly sent him a copy of Stephenie Meyer’s popular first novel.

“I couldn’t put it down,” said Facinelli, who read it in one night. “It was kind of a throwback to the origins of what vampire folklore was, the sensuousness and the love story that it used to be.

And Facinelli has been along for the ride as Dr. Carlisle Cullen, the kindly head of a family of “vegetarian” vampires–they feed only on animals, not humans–and the adoptive father of Edward, played by mega-star Rob Pattinson.

‘FAN BASE EXPLODED’

It’s hard to imagine now, but the crowds weren’t always there. While filming the first movie in Oregon, Facinelli said he and fellow actors Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson could grab dinner in local restaurants and no one batted an eye.

“We could’ve been doing a cookie commercial. Nobody cared we were doing this movie,” he said. “We felt a responsibility to make a good movie for the fans of the books. But somewhere between the wrapping of filming and the premiere, that fan base exploded.”

Even after that, the dark-haired Facinelli said he often wasn’t recognized in public. In real life, he’s a young-looking 36 with a healthy glow about him. It takes up to two hours in a makeup chair to transform the actor into Carlisle Cullen, a 350-year-old vampire with bleach-blond hair and pale, shimmery skin.

Of course nowadays, admirers have no problem picking the L.A. resident out of a crowd. He’s happy to sign autographs and pose for photos, though he’d rather not pretend he’s biting someone. For the most part, he said, fans are friendly and supportive.

i am glad that there are alot of people of diffrent ages and diffrent parts of the world. i think its awsome!!! well can't wait for all the amazing news that r coming along and talking to u gals. probably not gonna be here that often like everyday:( less than 3 weeks till schools starts. i'am kind of excited because it's going to be my first year of high school but also kind of nervous.

awhhh i joined then too… back when nm.org was only a few pages long!!! and then the obsession began!!— i was checking the site literally every single day!!!

I LOVE THE WAY THIS SITE IS SET UP, MAKES VIEWING IT SO EASY, GETTING NEWS AND INFORMATION SO READILY AND JUST THE WAY IT IS TO COMMUNICATE WITH ONE ANOTHER, I LOVE IT. EVERY OTHER TWILIGHT SITE LACKS THE PERSONALITY OF THE BLOGGERS/MODERATORS AND I JSUT LOVE IT HERE. Hey Dani!! Awww,don't worry about getting Facebook right now. It's a totally different site. We'll just concentrate on one at a time-OK? I had to do that too. LOL So to get your avi—Do you know how to get into 'My Documents” in your computer? Do you have any pictures of Rob or whoever you'd like in your avi in your computer now? If not download what you want so it'll be there for you. After you have that done go into the disqus profile like you did to sign up for disqus. Go to MY SETTINGS—-on left of screen click on AVATAR PICTURE,then where it says CHOOSE FILE-click—-it'll take you to your computer for you to select the picture you want. Click 'select' on the name of the picture you want. It'll put the picture in disqus for you to fix the way you want it. Then be sure to click SAVE SETTINGS at the bottom to put the avi in place. This sounds hard, but it is very simple—just follow the words I sent. LOL Let me know if you get it—–but I;'ll know-you'll have your avi. LOL We'll get you going sweetie————–don't you worry.
