Eclipse 200907221119 Interview with Xavier Samuel aka Riley in Eclipse xavier samuel riley Adelaide Now has a brief new interview with Eclipse actor Xavier Samuel, who was recently cast to play Riley–

“I was up against some truly great actors who I’m privileged to be considered among,” he said from Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles where he was celebrating last night.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity.”

Xavier explains he’d put together his audition tape in Sydney just three weeks ago, and flew to LA last Thursday.
“It all happened in less than a month!” said Xavier, who graduated from the Flinders University Drama Centre in 2005.

Ok, so I am super late to the party here, but oh my freaking goodness, I literally had to force my self to stop laughing so loudly so that I could hear the rest of the video!! The possessed mullet reference was my favorite, and since my sister and I have a running contest of who can spot the most mullets, I just one upped her! Thanks for the laughing fit and the mullet point I now get from my big sis!

This is stunt casting if I have ever seen it…..There was not conflict when Rachelle was interviewed at the comic-con this last weekend. This sounds like a David Slade stunt.

Agreed. That’s why I don’t think it was “scheduling conflicts.” I think that Summit wanted someone more commercial to draw in a wider audience. They’re idiots if that’s the case (or in any case, really. There has been quite enough recasting for one series.)
