“I had seen her on the movies and magazine covers, but I wasn’t colored by that,” she told us. “I found her to be down to earth, authentic and warm.”She also said Kristen barely had to be given any direction when assuming the role of rocker Joan. “I didn’t give her any tips,” she said. “She took me in, she studied the Runaways music, she watched me and listened to my voice. I gave her some recordings of me talking… when I was 14. I had a Maryland/Pennsylvania accent that she wanted. She had pictures … she had books … she did her own thing.”

Wow! Who knew Kristen could be such a quick study?

And how did Joan feel about watching Kristen become her? “I thought it was really freaky,” Joan admitted.

Well…when you are an actor/actress and do get roles you do study and practice for your character in order to perform your job well…so, Kristen knows what's it's all about, hence, of course Joan is impressed. Kristen did her homework

Yes, she is! And that's only what I see from interviews…I ain't even close to knowing her. lol

She fidgets, she stutters, she has loss of words and sometimes forgets all together what she's talking about – but it's only because microphones shoved in your face and 'on-the-spot' questions can be intimidating.

Take those things away…and Kristen is adorable, smart, funny and very talented!

Kristen is going to totally rock in this movie, no doubt about that. I'm not surprised she did so much great preparation by herself because she once said independent study was for her and she is very dedicated to all her roles. She's awesome, love Kristen ;D

Kristen is just a hale of a fast learner she just absorbs everything that has to do with Joan Jett she definitly did her homework and now us fans get to see her movie and how awesome it will be:) I will grade that homework A++++++++:)

yep exactly when you are an actor and you are up for a role of a lifetime(hence Runaways) you have to do your homework on the charater that you are playing and Kristen did just that and I might add amazingly well:)and I thank Joan for saying how cool Kristen is:) and saying she is down to earth that is a awesome compliment:)
