Kellan Lutz Among ‘Conan’ Contenders

No, we are not talking about Conan O’Brien! LOL!

According to MTV News, Kellan Lutz is one of the two contenders for the upcoming ‘Conan’ movie.

There’s been no shortage of casting rumors surrounding the “Conan” reboot since it was first announced, and according to Deadline Hollywood, many of those rumors are close to being debunked (or possibly confirmed) as the studio narrows its choices for the title role. The site reports that the pool was down to two contenders as of last week — “Twilight” actor Kellan Lutz (pictured) and “Stargate: Atlantis” actor Jason Momoa — but now another, unnamed actor could be in the mix, too.

At the end of 2009, we named the “Conan” role as one of our most-wanted casting announcements for the new year, and it sounds like that wish could indeed come true in the near future — if the report is accurate, of course. However, the rumored contenders seem to put to rest the notion that the studio was pursuing a teenage actor for the role, though we’re still hoping they find a place for Dolph Lundgren in the project, as the actor suggested in a chat with MTV News.

Casting for several other characters has yet to be addressed, including female lead Tamara, Conan’s father Corin and and the villainous Ufaka.

I can definitely see Kellan as Conan the barbarian! I can also see him hosting a talk show too. LOL!

I would rather see him in the “bourne identity” saga…but indeed, making his way into films is better something like Conan than nothing…
