MTV.com has a new interview with Eclipse star Kristen Stewart (aka Bella Swan). In the interview Kristen says that they only barely touched base on the Edward/Bella/Jacob love triangle in New Moon. However, in Eclipse it plays a much bigger role -

“I’ve always backed [Bella] up in her ultimate devotion to Edward, and to see that falter will be interesting,” Stewart says

June may seem so far away now. But remember how far away November seemed? And now most of us have seen New Moon already. June is just around the corner Eclipse icon wink Kristen Stewart Finds the Love Triangle in Eclipse Interesting kristen stewart

:D i never team jacob for bella but in the movie i was. poor jakey :( so its a role reversal for everyone! lol

  • http://www.fanfiction.com/~youroasis MCNutters [Team Wolf Rangers!]

she's not a spawn! she's a baby! so you don't like edward and bella's baby? cos she's a hybrid? yet you love edward even tho he's a vampire who's more of a monster than nessie ever will be? sorry, but that sounds hypocritical.

im not a j/b fan, im all about fate/soul mates. and im happy jake got his happily ever after, at least he's happy and has his peace of mind back which he never had with bella and edward in the picture. yet, his enemy but they grow to like each other and respect each other which is most important.

im a jake/nessie fan and will defend them to the death. lol

sorry i get passionate. heh. dont we all, no?

im using your soap box now, if you dont mind. sorry. so if anyone cares to debate with me and say im wrong, its wrong, its pedophile (which is NOT), that jake is unhappy and got stuck with her? is he unhappy? REALLY? he IMPRINTED. imprinting, as far as im concerned, is the BEST feeling in the world! and if he's happy, im happy. he's a loyalist, so he'll be with her thru thick and thin even if he has to be surrounded by vampires, he doesn't care. thats true love and at least its bella's daughter too not just edward's. bella is his best friend whom he will always love and protect as well but nessie comes first now.

    so there. ;)

  • http://www.fanfiction.com/~youroasis MCNutters [Team Wolf Rangers!]

    i LOVE you! :D

  • http://www.fanfiction.com/~youroasis MCNutters [Team Wolf Rangers!]

ah, for me its a given. bella was stupid. LOL

he had me at: “what a marshmellow!” ;D LOL

  • http://www.fanfiction.com/~youroasis MCNutters [Team Wolf Rangers!]

i want a real baby. it'd be great to see taycob interacting with her. *heart melts* :)

  • http://www.fanfiction.com/~youroasis MCNutters [Team Wolf Rangers!]

    i know! /le sobs/

  • http://www.fanfiction.com/~youroasis MCNutters [Team Wolf Rangers!]

he's in love he KNEW she fell in love with him too so he fought for her, but mostly he fought for her life, her soul. cos he cant be friends with a vampire, his enemy yet he loves her too much to not NOT try and stop her from doing so.

whats worse? giving up, or at least TRY? i bet he knew he had a slim chance but he was willing to risk it. and i admire him for that!

yes, he does manipulate but so does edward and so does bella. he NEVER went after her, she went after him in the beginning when he kept saying no but she was selfish and stubborn. and she knew it too.

ALL 3 of them were selfish, stubborn, vengeful, towards each other. edward isn't perfect. he forbade her to see jake until he gave up. its why its my least fave book, cos someone was bound to get hurt and eventually they all did.

and jake would always apologize after hurting bella. and bella would too. in the end, they ALL made mistakes. cos their stupidly in love and want what they want for themselves.

and jake is impulsive, he wears his heart on his sleeve. he just makes it up as he goes along. hes new to this, a teen, and a young wolf. bitter cos if it wasnt for the vamps, he wouldnt be a wolf. bitter cos edward made bella suffer and it KILLED jake on the inside having to watch that. and he didnt wanna see bella suffer anymore over edward. obviously he thought edward wasnt good enough for bella after leaving her. and thats how it was.

  • http://www.fanfiction.com/~youroasis MCNutters [Team Wolf Rangers!]

    same here :D

  • http://www.fanfiction.com/~youroasis MCNutters [Team Wolf Rangers!]

    ditto! :D

i wasnt gonna focus on the bod anyway but the performance. and i was proud. i just nodded my head and mentally said, “thats jake” :)

“Team Edward” can have the fickle jumpers…us long time Team Jacob fans aren't necessarily happy there are more fans. We know the new ones are based solely off Taylor's performance in NM. Not that that is totally a bad thing, it's GREAT for Tay because I love the guy but come on, what happened in the movie happened in the books…just in more detail in the books.

And believe me, Eclipse made me 100x more of a fan of Jake…Edward was waaaaay too possessive for this adult fan :)

  • blackbeauty

Oh gag, if that's not a biased opinion I don't know what is.

  • Anonymous

    I love Edward,

but i love Jacob so much more:)) Go Jacob&Bella ))

  • rpattzgirl

    And your point is???

It's my opinion which I am entitled to

  • nomesters

OMG I feel the same. In my opinion, it has something to do with how bad the first movie was. I didn't like the first movie, especially compared to this new Chris Weitz one. I feel like Bella and Edward's relationship did not really develop in the first film. So, in New Moon, when Edward leaves, many people saw her depression as extreme. (I still think they captured that really well in this film, I am just saying that for people who aren't fans of the book or who don't know the story/understand the relationship of Bella/Edward, it might not have made much sense to them in this film). Then, in this film, New Moon, the relationship between Jacob and Bella was so clear, everything about their relationship came across and made sense. Now, if this director had worked on the first film, maybe Bella and Edward's relationship would have made more sense, and then we would really feel like we were in the middle of a love triangle rather than….”why are you choosing Edward.” Don't get me wrong, I am a diehard Team Edward, and the books never made me want to sway to Team Jacob. If anything made me falter and made me question being on Edward's side it was this film. I still am an undying Team Edward, it's just that this film did an amazing job of portraying Jacob and Bella's relationship.
PS I Love your name!!! KStew rocks, huh?? : )

  • nomesters

How do you think they are going to pull off Breaking Dawn, with showing Jacob's point of view, and then switching to Bella's point of view as a vamp, and showing everything that happened with the birth of Reneesme, and also Bella changing into a vamp? DAMN they have a lot of work to do for Breaking Dawn. I know we all want Breaking Dawn to be made, and SUMMIT JUST ANNOUNCED THAT BREAKING DAWN WILL BE MADE!!!! But we all have to realize that it will be a huge challenge, with the three parts of the book, the sex, the baby vamp, the power that Bella has that is all in the mind……
it will very difficult to make this film, and we all have to realize that.

  • nomesters

Oh, that's what she was laughing at? I couldn't hear what she was responding to. Thanks for clearing that up, lol.

  • nomesters

I TOTALLY agree with you. I have said this so many times already, but I will say it again.
The books never made me want to change teams. I am Team Edward, and will always be Team Edward. But, when I saw New Moon last night, I actually was questioning if I should be on Team Jacob. I DIDN'T CHANGE TEAMS! I am just saying that this film really brought Bela and Jacob's relationship to life. Their relationship made sense. And at the end of the film, Bella looked SO HEARTBROKEN when Jake ran off. So, in Eclipse, everything is set up perfectly. And her struggle with choosing Jacob or Edward will make sense. I know it was never really a struggle, I know there was only one real moment where she saw herself with Jacob, one moment where, as Kristen puts it, “her devotion to Edward faltered”, but I am just saying that because of how clear J/Bs relationship was in this film, Eclipse will make sense. (Vs, in my opinion, how unclear Bella/Edward's relationship was in this film because of how bad Twilight was – again, that is all my opinion)

  • SquareBanana

Well I think it would be best played out like this:

Tell the whole story from a third person point of view.
Jacob does this, Bella does that.. etc. To show Jacob's
side… just focus more on his activities, like when he's
talking to the pack, running away, etc.

I think if they make it into two movies, they should end
the first one with her heart beat, like, have the screen
black and then have the one last “Thump”.

The start of the new one could be the start of her new
    vampire life.

If they leave the movie into just one movie, they could
still apply the same concept and just cut to her waking up
(still leave the black screen with the thump, that would
    be good)

I think they need to just change the perspectives and just
do it entirely third person. It would be confusing. They
could do some narration from each POV if need be.

I wish they would just make it rated R. The material is
more adult. Tweens aren't gonna like seeing bella as a mom
either, but oh well. I don't know… I would like to see
more than just a little kiss.. you know? Nothing hard core
obviously but just more than some peck.

Yeah there are a lot of things to consider for this movie.
They need to get a new writer.. someone who can do complex
stories. Like.. with LOTR. There are about 30 different
things and stories going on throughout the books but they
captured it beautifully. They someone of that caliber to
    pull this movie off well.

  • nomesters

    Yeah. BD is complicated, lol.
I think there is NO WAY they could do this story in one film. They need to split it into at least two. And I think ending it with Bella dying makes sense. And it is also a cliff hanger. We can see Edward trying to save her life, we can see Jacob leaving the room and Edward yelling at him saying “Leave”. (That is what he says, right? I forget what happens, I just know Jacob pisses Edward off because he doesn't do something Edward asked him to do and then Edward has to focus on Bella and asks Jacob to get out).
But yes, the second film should focus on Bella, and about the vampires coming to stay with the Cullens. (That is also going to be super complicated, with all the new vampires, all the nomads….) There are so many characters, and to show all their powers would be a real challenge. Speaking of POWERS, how would they pull off Bella's power? It is all in her head. I guess that is the same with Jasper and Edward, so it's possible, but seriously, how would they show her her putting protection around the people she loves?
I wish it could be rated R too, but Stephenie Meyer will not see R rated movies, so you know…I guess that will be something we just have to deal with.
I want them to do Isle Esme correctly. And I don't know how they can do that without showing some, you know what….

I have a question, at the end of the film, Bella says something along the lines of “Don’t make me choose, because it will be him” (she says it to Jacob, talking about Edward). Was that in New Moon the book?

Exactly, just like my opinion of your opinion. I think you're way off. I think you read the story and took it in a from a view point unlike SM. Basically she'd disagree with you.

lol no problem… at least that's what I assume it was :-)

  • Twilight Space Cadets <3 NM

very very good points.. I agree.. Bella and Jake's relationship really showed through in the movie.. Eclipse is going to be so good! And also about B and E's relationship.. at the end it was definitely stronger than the beginning but you could really see the hurt from both of them after the break up.. and I love the ending.. :-)

I’m going to have to get the book and look to see because I don’t know for sure if she directly says it. Of course it’s implied. I’m not good with quoting things. LOL But you’ve made me very curious. : )

Dude, I agree. I can understand completely why non Twilight fans are all WTF to why Bella is so depressed over Edward leaving. It is not conveyed will in the films. The books, there is not question. Their relationship is much deeper than a high school sweetheart romance.

And CW did get the Jacob and Bella relash right. I FEEEELL for him. I almost want to start crying everytime I see Bella leave him and then make her choice at the end of the movie.

I never felt that reading the books. It’s funny how the Edward Bella relash is not conveyed well, but the Jacob Bella one is.

I get that, and I respect yours, just respect mine as well.

  • blackbeauty

Okay, thanks. It's just that your original post wasn't very respectful sounding for Jakob fans…obviously others were a little miffed by it and thats why you got the responses you got.

If you see me around, I don't really bash Edward, even though he isn't my favorite character…because I'm trying to be respectful like you said. This place is much more enjoyable if you can control the snark…but if you dish it out you can't be surprised if someone gives it right back.

  • LWNV (ready to FURSPLODE!)

Work has been fierce! See it took me how long long to just reply back? UGG!!!

  • LWNV (ready to FURSPLODE!)

OH I LOVE YOU! That was awesome!!! LOL

  • LWNV (ready to FURSPLODE!)

You know I didn't even watch her when I went to see it. LOL It made the movie so much better when I just ignored her. LOL.

All the papers are slamming Bella for as a bad role model. Wish they paid more attention to us – we have been saying that forever!

  • LWNV (ready to FURSPLODE!)

While I am bashing her (sorry can't help it) – I do think she did much better in this movie than the other.

I have missed you all! I am so desperately busy at work through the new year I will be lucky to get on here sporadically till then. sigh

I wish you had been at the movie with me when I saw it. I had to smack heads people were being so disruptive! the 2 50 year olds squealing whenever Jake was in the scenes or 3 13 year olds chatting through the whole thing!

I was disappointed with the Sam Emily kiss too. I think my hopes were too high and David had better do even better with Eclipse.

And since both Kstew and rob did much acting this time around – I am positive Eclipse will be even better. Plus I love that there are more wolf scenes! I cannot wait for the bonfire – especially since the cut the spaghetti dinner out of New Moon…

  • LWNV (ready to FURSPLODE!)

I love the Rosalie Jacob banter. I can't wait for that…

  • LWNV (ready to FURSPLODE!)

    Hehehehehee…

Edward IS annoying and whiney! I am so glad you see it too!

  • LWNV (ready to FURSPLODE!)

Spawn…. hehehehe I hope she doesn't look like that chucky doll fromthat horror movie (LMAO)

i love Jake – I am glad B & E wind up together – they deserve each other… But I am so not happy about the Jacob Reseme thing. It just feels SO wrong.

  • LWNV (ready to FURSPLODE!)

Take my advice and rent out the whole theater OR what until it is on DVD. I waited until Monday to see it – and yet there were still 5 people out of the 30 in the theater that ruined the whole dam experience for me…

  • LWNV (ready to FURSPLODE!)

I hope they stop screwing with the story. I was not happy with the Edward visions. While they were well done, SM was clear that Bella was hearing voices not seeing things. It made her seem so much more certifiable than I already thought she was. I mean get that they put Eddie in there for the fans but it skeeved me out…

I hope nothing like that happens in the next 2 because really all it does it make the Eddie lovers or Jake lovers more insane. I am team wolf, not team Jake. I love the stories – not the changes. i hope they stick even closer to the story…

  • nikki13_Team Leah

since I don't have enough money to rent a theater, unless you borrow me, and I seriously not patient enough to wait for the DVD I will go on 26th…
I am actually more worried about the fact that it is in german I saw the trailer and it sounds weird…

  • nomesters

I feel like this film did a much better job at portraying the Bella/Edward relationship than the first film did. I just feel like if the first movie had been even half as good as this one, then the Bella/Edward relationship in this movie would have made more sense to non-Twilight readers. I mean, I am not saying this film was perfect, but I just feel like the last film was crap, and now this film did an amazing job of introducing the Bella/Jacob relationship – if Chris Weitz had been given the chance to do the first film, I feel like it would have been TONS better!!!!
    Did that make sense???

  • Mullet Mofowski (CF)

I agree. Jacob comes across as the much better guy in the movie. For a multitude of reasons. One being that the first film was utter crap. Second being that Taylor did an excellent job and I completely bought into the J/B chemistry. Third being that the movie doesn’t really explain Edward’s motivations for the break up, so I think non readers get confused.

It is all an endless cycle cuz the first one was awful.
