Kristen Stewart Says David Slade is a “Technical Director”

In the interview Kristen talks about the differences in playing rocker Joan Jett versus Bella Swan. She also talks about Eclipse director David Slade -

“Bella’s effect on the world wasn’t necessarily as great as Joan’s, obviously, and I never got to meet Bella,” Stewart said. “It’s completely different. All these people who have an investments in these women, that’s awesome…but when it becomes personal and it’s my responsibility to not destroy, like, what people are going to take from the most important part of my friend’s life… Joan has become really, a really big part. She’s awesome and I really love her. If we hadn’t told the story right, people don’t know the Runaways in our generation. Because they’re going to see them through us, it’s a much different experience than making an original fictional story.”

Speaking of Bella, even though she hasn’t seen “Eclipse,” the third installment of “Twilight” yet, Stewart gives high marks to director David Slade’s style on the film, which will come out this summer. “He’s a very technical director. Very. Very. He’s very thoughtful. I think it’s going to be cool for ‘Twilight,’ like, shotwise. He’s very conceptual. He really, really takes a lot of time to…you’re not going to see, like, a bunch of Steadicam. It’s very deliberate, which is very cool. It gives you more time to think about what you’re doing. I don’t know [the tone] because I haven’t seen the movie.”

YUP DS is very detailed. And I agree with Kristen, I also think that will be good for the Saga, not just good, needed. Especially with the script MR wrote up. Lets hope DS and the actors are the saving grace.

DS said the romance is front and center so onces again the director is the saving grace, because half of what we saw in NM was not there, like the triple date or the stitches.

First off, I am so glad that Kristen explained why the role of JJ was so important to her to portray well compared to Bella. Bella is fictional, JJ is a real breathing person. Hence the reason she cut her hair. And I am glad she did.

Secondly, the more I hear about Eclipse, the more concerned I get. That is all Kristen felt the need to comment on was the technical aspect of the direction. Ugh.

Technical as in ” I get the best of ALL the scenes”? I mean the romantic tones and expressions and letting Edward getting into the picture finally? I mean that we don´t have to say ” Oh well Bella the poor girl had to choose Edward after all, she wasnt´going to leave him behind, after all what happened”

I´m really hoping to be definitely wrong about it, but as I have commented for the hundred time, this time I´m not going to forgive that once and for all we UNDERSTAND clearly what Edward is all about…as a vampire and as a lover…so that finally we can pass the torch to BD not feeling like if Bella was doing a favour to Edward because she chose him….no. way.
