As most of you are aware an early version of the script that belonged to Jackson Rathbone was leaked online on Tuesday. Sources have confirmed to Deadline Hollywood and EW.com that this version of the script is indeed real but not the final version that was used by David Slade.
MTV states:
Summit has not provided any further information about the leak, how the script was lost in the first place or how anyone got their hands on the script, which is watermarked with Rathbone’s name across each page. A rep for Rathbone hadn’t gotten back to MTV News at press time regarding any further information about the found script.
Have no idea how poor Jackson must be feeling but at least he can talk to Anna Kendrick about it as she lost her copy of the New Moon script in St Louis while filming Up In The Air.
The circumstances surrounding the script are very curious as at least Anna’s copy was a paper copy found in the trash. Jackson’s stamped copy seems to have had the hard work of someone going through and scanning the whole document before putting it in a pdf format and then uploading it for the whole world to see. Has Jackson laptop been hacked or has someone he trusted betrayed him… either way I still love you Jackson and so does Bean and LMHale and we would never betray you!

Read it I don't see what the big deal is about leaked scripts, the movie is based on a book anyway and it's not like anyones gonna go well not going to see the film now cos I've read the script *sigh*

The big deal is that when a book is hundreds of pages long, sometimes favorite scenes get cut from the film because they're not deemed important enough (i.e.: most of Twilight!). Just want to make sure crucial scenes and conversations (and leg hitches) make it into the final cut. Hear that Melissa Rosenberg?
I've read the script, and I gotta say it stay pretty close to the book! It was done nicely, but I felt like something was missing.. I guess it's because this was an early version.. But hell, the fighting scenes, and all those extra details when it came to Riley were AWESOME! The proposal scene was also very nice, I was actually crying x) I felt like maybe the scene where Bella comes to see Jake, after he is damaged after the fight, that it was less emotional than in the book, and it ended quickly. And I also missed that 'the clouds I can handle, but I can't fight with an eclipse' quote!! That was my favorite quote of all! But damn.. Is it just me, or was the leg-hitch missing?? I couldn't find it! But oh well, that scene was passionate anyways ;D I probably have A LOT more to say about the script, but I 'm gonna bore you all to death by this extremely long comment x) But seriously, I can't wait to see the movie on screen!!

I hated it. No leg hitch. No Bella begging for 'IT.' Tent scene was cut to like a third. The J/B kiss will be good at least. Reading the script made yesterday the Worst. Day. Ever. I will hunt down MR if this ends up being the final script. I don't understand why they can't just ask the FANS what we want! CW delivered based on a dumbed-down script. I hope DS can too.

the scene where jacob kisses Bella is in there and that she punches him afterwards as well! The scene where bella wants Edward to sleep with her is in there too but its shortened and without the Leg hitch if I remember correctly… the tent scene is also cut short… but I loved the fighting scene…
If I wanted to know what happened in Eclipse, I'd just read the book.
Leaked script is no big deal (to me, not to Jackson or Summit of course), especially if it's an early draft and not the final copy. I just hope Jackson doesn't not get in trouble.

I do not expect every line and scene from the book to translate on screen, but if you have time to have such cheesy lines as “I shouldn't be dating an older man, it's gross.” then the meteor speech could have been in NM.

i've read it and i have mixed feelings about the thing!!…. they missed parts that where important to me… and they give too much time to thing that are not so relevant… they have too much Riley scenes…. and we need more Jasper… i feel like it's the same with the first movie, they give too much time to stupid things, like Charlie's friend (i mean butt crack santa? wtf!!)… and Eric yorkie and the worm thing i mean gahhh!!!!… i just wanted to hit him, i feel that way with this script, i can only hope this is an early script and not the final thing, because i'll be very disapointed… i guess i'll have to wait and see!!!

Okey, so It's only an early draft .. but I have to say, I'm not disappointed at all. While I was reading I feelt myself going into it so much that I could hear my heart pound or feel my heart break, I laughed and I wondered and I feelt sad and I felt the love.. And I am very pleased cause I think they have taken scenes and done them in a better way.. Like Bella with Rosalie, that Bella actually goes out to Rosalie and says “I'm really trying here!” and the proposal scene in the bedroom, ooowh, I actually love it.. It's going to be interesting to see kristen portraying Bella as excited and happy.. and the whole love triangle.. I think It's well done but I also think it's missing a fue,small lines .. and I think all in all they have checked their material and done some more of it.. I think all the actors knows their characters, they know what needs to be done and they are going to let david know that and stephanie has something to say about everything .. so I am not worried. Oh, and .. All these Riley scenes, yeah, their might be one to much but I dont care that much, I'm actually looking foward to see some action and blood in Eclipse.. there is this part in the script – the fight between seth,edward,riley and victoria where.. Riley pushed Edward to his knees and Victoria gets a hold of him .. and they have discribed how Bella for the first time seés what she lives for, her meaning.. and she only sees Edward. And I think that was a beautiful moment to add.. I'm actaully pleasently surprised with the whole script and since it's just an early draft, I'm looking foward to all the changes to! I dont think we will be disappointed with Eclipse.. There is only one part I am disappointed about and it's the part where jacob says he'll rather have Bella dead.. and Bella doesn't get mad, she's just like “you didn't say that” and they are friends again .. I read it and I felt like there was a lot missing. hopefully they change most of it. The things that I really liked were the fight scenes, the intro, the way the kept riley a big part in it, rosalie's past, j/b kiss. I did not like how they left out “bellas kidnapping” I also didn't like how when j/b fought and he told her she should die that she didn't care. I didn't like the way charlie and jacob reacted when she punched jacob. I felt like the dialogue was something that the characters probably wouldn't say. EX: Bella: “I should have worn something better” 'cause she could care less. Hopefully they put more quotes from the book in. But since its only an early draft I have faith in David to make all of this better.. hopefully. When I was finished reading it I felt empty. Read It, And I Must Say That I Expected More From It. It Seems That Melissa Rushed Through It. She Followed Through With New Moon, And Then Once Again Lost The Rope For Eclipse..What Happened? I must Admit, The Fighting Scenes Sound..Amazing, But Like I Said, It Seems She Rushed Through The Romantical Part Of It. Also AFter Jacob Found Out About The Proposal Near The Tent, Edward Is Supposed To Be The One Running After Jacob To Bring Him Back To Bella, Not Bella Going After Him On Her Own, Oh' And Now That We Are On The Tent Scene, Edward The Morning After The Conversation With Jake Is Supposed To Push Jacob For Rolling On Top Of Bella ( Accidentally ). Never Happened. That Should Have Been Placed, Because It Would Have Only Intensified Their Animosity Towards Each Other. And Last One, At Least Last One I Can Remember For Now, When Rosalie Tells Bella Her Story, Edward Is Supposedly On A Camping Trip Feeding With Emmett, And After Bella And Rosalie's Conversation, Bella Is Supposed To Be Angry With Edward For Having Her Locked Down At His House ( Which She Isn't ) And When He Comes Home There Is Suppsed To Be This Intense Make Out Scene With The Leg Hitch And All, Didn't Happen, I Mean Yeah, She Took Off His Shirt..Whoopie!!!. Oh' One More, WTF Happened When Jacob Went To The School To Confront Edward. Firstly Jacob Makes Two Appearences To The School. The First Time Is When He Checks To See If Bella Is Still Human And To Tel Edward About Biting Bella, And About Paul And Emmett Going At It, But NEVER Does He Leave With Bella, That Would Be The Second Time When He Kidnapps Her Which Is A HUGE Difference. Secondly They Made Edward Look Like A Total Punk Just Standing There While She Hops On Jacobs Bike And Rides Away, Like Edward Would Be Ok With That. If You All Have Been Reading The Same Twilight Saga Book I've Been Reading, The You Should All Know Edward Better Enough, To Know That He Would NEVER Let Her Just Stroll Up To Jacob Like That Like Its All Good And Worse Off Hop On A Bike And Ride Off While He Just Stands There And Watches..Come On Melissa..Get With It. The movies are never ever ever going to be as good as the books – EVER….even if Steph wrote the screenplays herself.
So I say, we should just take the movies for themselves and try really hard not to cross-reference them so much.
We are going to drive ourselves crazy and we'll never be happy…I mean, of course, we want to see our favorite parts come to life on screen, but as the Rolling Stones say…You can't always get what you want…But if you try sometimes, you might find…you get what you need.

Rob and Kristen have both read the book, as opposed to MR, who clearly hasn't. I trust them to add details and rewrite sections to give the story the depth that it needs. They've got to know that you have to have the “eclipse” line in there, otherwise the name of the book doesn't make sense!
Kristen knows Bella inside and out, and has fought for scenes and dialogue that she thinks are important. She will again! *i hope i hope i hope*

I haven't read the leaked script and probably wouldn't want to from the sound of it. But if what I'm reading in the comments is true and hasn't been changed for the actual filming I will be so disappointed. Not only for all of us but also mostly for SM. I think the biggest mistake would be having Edward at the school when Bella rides off with Jake. Even worse than not having the Leg Hitch scene and that's one of my fav parts in the book. But to show Bella choosing Jacob over Edward. That would never have happened. That is not how SM wrote it. I understand changing some things up when making a book into a move but that would be too much!!!

Eclipse is the book where Bella and Edward take their relationship to the next level, and it all starts heating up!! Sounds like MR doesn't understand any of the characters at all. There is no way Edward would let Bella ride off with Jacob! He holds her hostage in his house for Gods sake to keep her away from him!!! Buying that big sexy bed and everything……the leg hitch…..sorry mind wandering…. but Edward is so hot in Eclipse and it just sounds like that's not translating to the scrpit.

I haven't read the script and don't want to but it sounds like from all the comments that most of the scenes that would be Bella and Edward are mostly cut short. I don't know if I can take that or not. I want alot of Bella and Edward making out that can be PG13. It is about time they show more Edward and Bella together instead of Bella and Jacob. Please more Edward. The making out scenes and the leg hitch are totally hot scenes that need to stay in. The part where she is trying to take her clothes off and Edward tells her to stop that needs to be in there too. This book is my favorite. Please don't let them screw it up. Just go by the book and everything should be ok.

So I am now reading Eclipse again and one thing I have to say I am happy with is the proposal… in the book he says “your engaged” before he actually gets down on his knee to ask and in the script I like the way he tells her in his time he would of courted her…

I'm hopeful the actors/directors made changes with this one as well. There were some important NM scenes that wouldn't have been in the original leaked script (Bella's arm being sewn up at the party) and some scenes which the actors themselves devised/improved (Jessica's lines in Port Angeles, break-up scene).
I'm praying that we will see similar improvements for Eclipse.

Ok, so i agree with pretty much everything everyone has said. However, for an early draft, I was somewhat pleased. I didnt really like the part they created for Rosalie's backstory, but i understand it was done that way due to time, as much as I would love to have both “kidnapping” scenes in there, it is alot of time. I will say that like every normal twilight fan, THE LEG HITCH IS VERY NECESSARY. But I did read that when Jacob has half his body smashed, he instantly phases back, naked. I remember THAT very clearly. Oh, an i love the way the begining was written with Bella reading Fire and Ice over the Riley scenes.

She also broke my favorite scene up where Edward explains to Bella why he would have courted her, but at least it is in there ( beginning and part of the proposal). I did happen to read somewhere that this leaked script does not look anything like the final version – so my hopes are holding out that it has been rewritten 50 times and then 20 times more by DS/R/K during the actual production day!
It would be like 4 hours long if I were to write any of the books. Breaking Dawn would have to be made into more than 2 movies!! But I'm sure all of us would sit through and love ever minute of it.

I didn't read the script, but just wanted to address the missing “can't fight with an eclipse” line. It really should be in the movie- it not only explains the title, but it is the underlying theme of the whole book. Although I'm disappointed, can't say that I am all that surprised- the Twilight and New Moon references were also missing from their respective movies. It's a good thing I've read all the books, otherwise I would have no basis of understanding the way any of the movies are titled!
Since there is a lot of disappointment brewing, I think Summit owes us a trailer to make us happy again!

Ugh. I just keep thinking of things that were left out. Like some of my favorite dialouge exchanges (below) that exempifly how jealous/posessive Edward is in Eclipse are completely MIA in the script:

OKEY. BIG SPOILER! EVERYONE WHO DOESNT WANT TO KNOW – DONT READ! The thing is .. when Jacob says “I'll rather have you dead” to Bella .. they dont even argue.. But when he kisses her she punches him and Edward gets angry (thank god) and charlie go inbetween .. haha, owh, what an honour to be alice for once! That's like a dream;) The proposal is … amasing. It starts out with Bella wanting to make love, she tells him that she'll marry him, let him by the car, everything .. when he pushes her away, bella starts marking him a bit about how “ancient” that is.. Edward starts comparing to how it could been if he we're human .. slides of the bed, holding her hand.. continues comparting to his human life.. goes down on one knee, takes out the ring… and he proposes.. in the most beautiful way. and Bella.. actually feels overcomed, happy.. tears spring to her eye .. and she says… “Yes, yes I will”….
ooooh! It's perfect.. in my eyes it's perfect anyway ..

I agree… this is terrible! I was so excited to see this movie. If they make this movie about Jacob and Bella… I will be thoroughly upset. This book was the best book in the series because of the relationship that evolves between Edward and Bella. The love that they have for each other is indescribable. I could not wait to see it in the movie. Bella would have never walked away from Edward at the school leaving him behind!!!! The only reason she left (when Alice was there) was because she didn't like the though of being “babysat”. She hated being away from Edward… she hated when he had to leave her when he hunted.
I really really hope they change the script to reflect what the AUTHOR and CREATOR of this series really intended it to be!!!

That's exactly what I am saying.. Jake is in Eclipse all the time. With Edward and Bella.. When Bella and Jake talk alone. The kiss. The tent scene. In school. It's like.. five minutes cant pass without involving Jacob .. and I dont understand why when It's all about Edward and Bella.. sure, the love triangle is there.. but it's like there has to be a reminder of Jake. and we get to see some egoistic sides from jake, so that's all right to .. There are some parts where I really feel for Jake, but there is also parts where my heart crunches for Edward.. and then I feel how bella is torn but how she knows where she belongs.. it's very complicated. but I agree. That scene they have done really badly, Bella would NEVER leave Edward and just run of with Jake. It's.. totally wrong. And I am just afraid that the audience will take that as “She wants to run away with Jacob cause she wants to be with him but Edward wont let her because he is her own prison”.. and that is just… uh, so wrong..

Did we forget that Taylor and Kristen had to lobby for the movie scene and R/K had to re write their own break up scene, you can safely bet the leg hitch is there because back than with New Moon the proposal was left out and CW wrote it back in. So if you don't have faith in MR, at least have it with the cast and the director.

Oh.. the grammatical errors were awful… the dialogue was choppy.. and no “HOSTAGE” line from Alice… one of my faves of the series… Then half of what Edward or Jacob's actions are not included… I know it is only a two hour movie but too much time was spent on RILEY.. he should get second or third billing for how much he is in the script… did not like the way the Rosalie story was presented…the entire tent scene was missing some things…
okay.. now what I did like… Jackson and Alice.. I can't wait to see these actors do this interaction… Carlisle's firm tone toward Edward about the Wolves….. the addition of a Volturi scene.. can't wait to see Jane doing this one ..
the final kiss with Jake and Bella and the “visions”… wonder how that will be play out…. and the FIGHTING…. esp. Emmett and Paul… and the final scene of Bella finally getting a voice….. and Edward's expression toward what she does and says..

You are so right!!! Edward has not truly been revealed as being protective or a good guy in regards to Bella. I do think the Volterra scene of NM revealed some of his protective behavior.
Yet, the true love aspect has not shined in these films and I hate to admit that the early “draft” doesn't either. Bella reveals more of her true feelings and emotions than Edward especially the ending. I would love to see a scene of Edward talking to Alice about his feelings for Bella just so we know he is not just whipped and sulking.

You are correct!! I read the “script” and the entire “hostage” scenes are completely different. And Jake does come to the school in which Bella leaves with him on the bike in front of Edward. It is after Jake says to Edward that their “kind” better stay over the line or it will breach the treaty. Then Jake mentions the red head and Bella discovers that Edward had lied to her in why he wanted to go to Florida. Then Jake begins to leave and Bella jumps on the bike and Jake gives a smarta** smirk toward Edward as they leave. …. Yeah.. quite disappointing in regards to the characters we know from the books…
She is not a screen writer and evidently she does not want to be one. She relies on someone else to bring her words to life.
Personally, I wish she would take some lessons and learn to be one…as soon as possible. Guess she prefers not to!

I read the script and must say I do not share your negativity. While not perfect, it is not bad and generally follows the book. It is a pre-production draft, dated in July. Filming started in August. Some things were most likly changed before production and during…just as it was with the leaked New Moon script–it was different, too–the movie theater scene with Mike wasn't even in the leaked one.
I'm thinking we will all be pleasantly surprised when we finally see Eclipse i the theater. The visuals will be stunning and the story will remain intact….fingers crossed!
Even Hardwicke did a better job than Weitz.
New Moon was even more of a fail than Twilight, I think so (as a twilight fan, who was disappointed in how they conveyed the story) and critics as well as NM was one of the worst reviewed movies of last year.

and i agree that the books are way more moving, but that's usually how it is with books and movies anyways. i have always found that i feel a deeper connection with books over the movies based on the book.
Yes, there are a few lines about virtue in the script, but as always it isn't as detailed as in the book. However, I thought that the point got across.

I think Actors get the final script well before the shooting begins for them to prepare themself.To me July is the right time or may be earlier.

2. I would have rather cut the Mike scene and given that time to Edward and Bella towards the end.

Besides if you knew what goes into making a poll you'd be disgusted. A friend of mine works at making polls and usually it's someone hiring them to do so and they ask the people hiring them: So what do you want this poll to show? And based on that they'll post it in certain magazines or only certain sites. It's completely biased.

No, the final version is not usually given to the actors until they start shooting as it is constantly being revised. Often an actor only receives the part of the script that pertains to hi or her. It is not at all unusual for the script to be revised as they shoot.
This is not the final version. Summit has said this. It is an early version, but not the first-Rob and Kristen got the first version end of May '09.
The Mike scene was a pivotal scene, in my opinion, and would not have been the scene to cut if one needed to be cut. I actually would have preferred it if the film had been longer and the material that had been cut would have been included, such as the scene with Edward and Alice bringing Bella back to Charlie from Italy and the scene by Bella's bed where Edward could have given the meteor scene. But that's just me…

What people were trying to say was Twilight could have been 150% better, and to be honest I would say 90% of the fans are because of Edward. Thats how it started, “oh look at this HOT Vampire”.. I should go see the movie.. then they read the books. RP was Twilight and brought the saga to what it is today and all MR does is wrip his character apart now. Now of course after NM TL has his following but Twilight was what it was because of RP.
Okay, I'd say so many hate the Twilight movie now compared to the New Moon movie.
I saw the movie before I read the book, and I left the theatre thinking it was a crappy movie. It was my friend who convinced me to finally read the books, and I'm glad I did, because the books are 100 times better! And I know others who are in the same position as me, saw the movie first, didn't like it, finally read the book, and boom there you go.
And especially after I read the books did I realize how bad of a movie Twilight was, it truly didn't do the books justice.

It was just as it was in the book. Bella, Mike, and Jacob went to the movies, you see both guys want to hold Bella's hand…Mike gets sick which gives Jacob a chance to talk to Bella alone. Mike comes back in, Jacob feels ill…
Leads into Jacob becoming a wolf and abandoning Bella causing her to feel alone again.
Without the Mike/Bella/Jacob movie scene you have to find another way to explain…pivotal.

I completely agree with you and share the same sentiment. I watch Twilight over 100 times. It gets better and better each time. With New Moon the movie, I watched it twice already and the second time I watch it, I got more disappointment. New moon took away the essence of Edward and Bella love/passion in their relationship for me and particularly Edward character is so different from the book and the first move. I was hoping Eclipse will be better but it doesn't appear so base on the comments I've heard about the script.

I read the books first, loved them. Read them several times before I saw the movie. I actually liked the movie Twilight. I think it could have been done a bit better but I like the actors, it was impressive casting, the music was right on and I liked that it was basically true to the story in the book.
I liked New Moon better. It was a true sequel, however, and I wish they could have included more of the E/B love story for those who had not seen or read Twilight. Overall, I was impressed with New Moon.
I watched Twilight twice in the theater and many, many times on DVD. I've seen New Moon 5 times in the theater and might have seen in more if they hadn't yanked it from the theaters around my home and put it at crazy times. I'm looking forward to watching NM many times when it comes out on DVD…and I am soooo looking forward to seeing Eclipse!
exactly!! I so agree! There were so many ways to flesh out the love story between E/B, even without him being there. It was a MOVIE after all. Bella could have been remembering moments she had with Edward before he left her
(they could have filmed a bunch of new scenes to show their love story/relationship in her memories) That's what's cool about taking a book to film. You have SOOOO many ways to SHOW the story, in place of the written words!!
If they had done this, then when E/B finally reunite, it would have been so much sweeter. the reunion, Bella's epiphany that Edward truly DOES love her…all of that is PIVOTAL to the story.

IMHO, how someone feels about Twilight the movie depends on if she/he fell in love w/the books before the movies even existed or not.
Those of us who passionately loved the novels before the movies existed (as CF eloquently describes above), Twilight the movie was an epic fail – beloved scenes were completely cut, new sub-par material was completely made up and added in, and the result is that the movie script bears little similarity to the original storyline in the novel.
Seeing the movie w/o having read the book first would be a completely different experience if you weren't comparing it to SM's brilliant piece of literature in every scene.
Although I can appreciate parts of Twilight the movie, I always have to immediately re-read the novels, to remember why I love this saga so much.
NM at least was much truer to the novel, and the scenes that were cut (sigh Ch 22) likely would have been hard to translate into film, since so much of the novel is in Bella's head.

CH 22 is one of my favorites in New Moon – the flight back from Italy – Bella's prodigious use of caffeine to stay awake and have more time w/Edward, the actual reunion at the airport w/the Cullens, the reunion w/Charlie.
The rush of the E/B reunion and cutting that chapter is what kept me from totally adoring NM 100%.

I agree with you. Twilight, the movie is way much better than New Moon the movie. In my opinion, because the special effect was better in New Moon, I think people tend to feel it's a better movie. I've watch new moon twice in the theatre and multiple time online (the dialogue is not much better than Twilight and my goodness…I didn't think wardrobe improve at all and it needed improvement for new moon). I personally love the colors in Twilight and think it was artistically done. I completely share your sentiment.

I was so excited when I read your opinion, along with a few others, that feel Twilight was better. =P New Moon completely destroyed the essence of E/B relationship and I feel that their relationship is one of the major theme of the whole book series. I blamed it on the dialogue and direction for the movie. The actors did great base on what they were given.
she is too close to the work to write the script. she wouldn't be objective on what to keep in and what has to be left out for timing sake. writing a script isn't easy either. it's a lot different than writing a book.
Completely off topic but CF I need to say something to you!! I would personally like to say thank you for protecting the people of NC. Recently a cop was killed in my area for no reason. She left two kids and a husband. I personally, words can't even describe all the thanks I have in my heart for cops. Yeah I know! I was all worried when reading these comments and then I read it and saw it was only a blue drAft I calmed down. Like the site said first is white then blue and then like 10 steps later is the final. So if she's using tyt normal scale we should all be fine cuz knowing the cast they would dedinitley say something if they didn't like it or needed to add something. And doesn't and twilight crew or cAst or anyone related to the movies ever come on here and see how much we hate MR?! I say we have a contest and the best screenplay for breaking dAwn entered wins!!! and if it doesn't work we can save it for wwhen I plan to re do the saga Arts and entertainment style(if u don't know thts like a chapter by chapter mini series exactly like the book. They did it for pride nd prejudice and it was epic so twilight would be awesome like tht!) like 30 years from now! Except I plan on getting feedback the whole way from a site like this one! i'm totally passionate about the books. and the fact that we all have our own movies and characters in our heads makes it difficult for a movie to play out the way we want. i'm on pg 26 of the script and i did really like the opening of eclipse. the whole edward just letting bella go off with jacob was a little rushed, making it seem like he was being a pussy haha and how bella just forgives jake so quickly when he says it be better if she were dead over being a vamp is annoying! but i'm still trying to keep an open mind as i read the rest hehe

Well, I think there's a fine line you walk when doing scriots because you have your interpretation and you have to please the fans. The problem with MR is that her interpretation does not match how the majority of the fans interpret the books. It's sort of summit's fault for hiring her, thinking she had a good grasp on what teens like when she doesn't really.
But it's difficult writing something and constantly worrying about your audience. The results tend to be disastrous.
So what summit needs to do is hire a new writer. Plain and simple. MR completely undermines the entire project and it's sickening to me.

It seems like she sympathizes with Jacob more, like I get nm having a bunch of Jacob and I loved the movie but I just wished they added 15 minutes of Edward Bella time like in the begining! She makes out exb to be so formal and distant sometimes while jxb are all happy and fun! It's like hellooooo? Exb romance novel here!!! Like just 10 minutes and it could be great! i think we need to re-institute hangings for an hour or so and hang MR in front of the world. Her script makes me puke. Granted its an early draft and her early draft for new moon was just as bad as this one, but come on, your employed to be engrossed in the franchise. Its your job. She should know the books better than we do and as a woman, she should write a beautiful story. But instead, she writes like an idiot that knows nothing about the story. She should be ashamed of herself.

yes, you guys are HP fans? i never bring it up bc i don't know if there's a rivalry or anything (i don't see why there would be) but i'm all about HP.
and yes, the movies do well trying to take a large book and incorporate what's important into the movies. but there are lots from the books that i wish made it into the movies.
and i'm totally fine with stuff not making it into the twilight saga, but it's so weird the way things keep getting cut and re-arranged in ways that just don't maintain the emotion of the books.

Because the HP movies are done by Warner Bros. – they are people who have a friggin' clue about what is expected when translating a book into a film.

Oh thank you! I was just saying the same exact thing in some other post! Twilight was so much better than New Moon. It had a SOUL and a charm that New Moon just lacked. The screenplay was bad yes but so was NM's (it's all MR's afterall) so what was the difference? I think it was the high budget of New Moon. The indie feel of Twilight blended well with the cheesy dialogue of these movies. New Moon just felt wrong, everything was so polished you got distracted from the already lacking in depth story and dialogue.

Ok… I've been following this site for months now, and love it here. Also I love all of the Twifans that gather here! I enjoy all the discussions we have. I myself haven't read the Eclipse script and don't plan to. I know that people have different ways of dealing with things, but I'm trying to look at this positively and think that everyone should try. I try to see only the good things in life and not stress out about the bad. Nobody has seen the movie yet… so we can't say what scenes are THERE or NOT. I only read Twilight in June but as soon as I read it I was hooked and obv read the rest of the saga in about a week.
Before reading them I hadnt seen the film and tbh I didnt like the whole franchise.
I finished Twilight one night and watched the film in the same night. After watching it I was basically weeping-it was utter rubbish, I was waiting for the meadow, the flirting, the playfullness between edward and Bella and it didnt come. The worst bit for me was their first kiss; obv it was hot (!) but their first kiss in the book is completley different. Edward wouldnt have let it get that far and the rubbish 'meadow' is what made me hate the film.
Ive come round to it a little bit more but after watching New Moon it just looks awful.
so for me reading the book before I saw the film was the right desicion. and im so glad I didnt do it the other way round or I might not have even bothered to read the books.

You echo my feelings perfectly – where was this epic love story that I fell in love with? How could the meadow scene – SM's dream that started this all – get so messed up? What's worse is to watch Twilight w/the commentary on and realize they had to film part of it at the last minute!
What really killed me is the change in Edward at the ballet studio – in the book, he was able to stop drinking her blood b/c he loved her so much – in the movie, I got the impression that he would have killed her if Carlisle hadn't stopped him.
As others have said, I wonder how SM has let her beautiful vision get so changed around in the adaptation to the big screen.

The Twilight Saga and HP are completely different books, but I love them both, equally, so I never understood the 'rivalry' issue, because the books are two completely diff genres.

I'm one who saw Twilight the movie, and read the entire book series by the next day. And just from my experience, I think most Twilight fans on this site new about Twilight prior to it's movie release so they dont' have this pov. The movie alone is amazing! but compared to the book, it doesn't really compare. either way I support Summit.

I've always admitted that I discovered the saga pretty late and only cz I watched Twilight, liked it OK and thought I'd buy the book to give it go. I surfaced a week later having read them all with maybe 3 hours of sleep each night; totally and irrevocably in love.
It was months and several reads later before I even attempted to express an opinion. I feel like I learn something new about the saga every day.

I agree with your second paragraph but I can´t agree with your first one. Twilight was a great film and because of that there is a huge number of Twifans worldwide. It is always better to watch the movie first and then read the books. Then you are not disappointed that your favourite parts of the book are not there.
it's just the scene that was cut out of the film, before Malfoy does the deed. It won't make you cry…promise. it's just a very haunting song/scene.

I understand that a movie can't include everything from the books. I get it. But now that I've had time to sleep on it (and re-read my fave scenes from Eclipse), I've come to the conclusion that a successful adaptation of a book with this kind of insane fandom requires 2 things:
1) Including the scenes that are necessary to advancing the plot
2) Including the scenes that are necessary to the fans (though these are not always necessary to the plot).
CW understood this. No, the movie scene with Jake/Bella/Mike wasn't NEEDED in New Moon in order to effectively tell the story on screen. But its a fan favorite and I will love CW forever for his effort to please us.
This is why Twilight was such an epic FAIL with the fans (blood typing scene? where were you? And the scene where they sit alone at lunch playing 20 questions!?- “Edward Cullen is staring at you.”- Ugh. Love those scenes!) – And don't even get me started on the melodramatic mess that was CH's vision of the “meadow” scene? I still absolutely cringe at the “You NEED to see what I look like in the sunlight!” scene in Twilight. Ugh. All wrong. ALL WRONG).
Breaking Dawn was my least favorite book, but I still fear for it. I mean, knowing MR, the wedding will end up being a 30 second visual montage with no dialogue and their honeymoon will be in Forks! Then she'll spend 90% of the script giving Irina an epic back story.
How about this Summit: Hold a contest to let the fans write the script for Breaking Dawn. We'd all do it free of charge, I'm sure. At the same time, you can also have MR write her version. I guarantee you we'd provide something much better than she ever could.

I love the books very much and I am grateful to the movie that I got to know them and since may I´ve read them times and planning to read them again.
i think i read that they are going to cut it right at the point where they are at the Malfoy's estate…which I think would be a good spot. The book is so HUGE and so FULL of emotion/action…i can't even imagine it on screen yet, in my mind:)
Here in Europe /at least in my country/ we didn´t know the books. I decided to see it because of the trailer and I fell in love with it. I was so happy when I learned that there are also books and bought all four of them immediately. And I know that I am not the only one.
i guess my point was, that it's NOT always better to see the movies first, and THEN read the books.
Some books have been adapted amazingly well to screen and the fans of the books have been thrilled…this just isn't the case for us and the Twilight saga

And why is that? I just don't understand. Moreover, at what point does SM see it and give it thumbs up. She could not possibly have been ok with this script. It's one thing to change action and plot points, and quite another to completely throw out major character traits.
Edward watch Bella get on the back of Jacob's bike at school when he comes to confront them about Victoria? That bit alone is only true to Jacob's bravado. Not only would Bella never do that to Edward (especially after calling him a “liar”), he wouldn't let her get on it to begin with.
Where is Stephenie to say – wait, let me explain – this is how the tone of these characters should be portrayed?

on some movies when they do the pre viewing to scope out audience response they often do re-shots if needed. Also while editing if slade finds stuff he doesn't like…re-shoot. Obviously they try not to but it is possible….

That was probably the thing I hated most about the Twilight film, was the fact that Edward didn't stop of his own accord, it took away his glory. The fact that he loved Bella enough to stop, rather than have to be begged to do so. It added nothing to the dramatics and just made me sad.

ok read it and …i liked it sorta. i mean theres room for improvement but there were some killer lines and the whole “edward is traditional- is that a new technique?” line was HILARIOUS i hate MR but this could have been waaaay worse considering spidermonkey, edward wasnt as cheesy and he manages to pwn 2 vamps at the same time which seems really cool so im not BLOWN AWAY but im interested to see what the finished product is. there was a lot of content so i get why some of the dialogue was compacted and i get giving some more lines to actors seeing as the cast is soo big. THE WHOLE BLANKET THING WAS LIKE WTF THOUGH???
but meh it wasnt soo bad but its an ok start i doubt the movie will be that different from the script and although the bella/jake break up scene is short im guessing that they will pump some super sad song and dramatic pauses and sad faced actors in there to make it more meaty. its just a scrip so the whole visual is always better. overall i give it 7/10 ….6 for just being my favourite book, before MR got her grubby hands on it and 1 more for getting edward to say “does he <jacob> own a shirt?” im just going to accept if this might be the worst it going to get im alright with that..tbh it could have been WAAAAY worse considering who is writing the script soo im ok with it i guess
read the script and there arw some lines that edward does say how he loves her and how he wants her to be safe and things like that…he does get to pwn 2 vamps at the same time so i thought that was pretty cool. he seems a bit stalkerish at on bit ….. well the dialogue made it sound that way…but i think MR -despite the fact i hate wasnt tht GODAWFUL as people said with this script. i this is the worst it is going to get im ok with that. the beginnign bella and edward scene seems SO FRIKKIN ADORABLE that i sort of had an open mind from that point despite the missing dialogue…at LEAST she kept the whole edward proposal line in the book and added more. so i guess it could be worse but its not so im ok with it. AND at least she gets edward to say how he is stalling because he wants her to think about the choice, showing he isnt forcing her into anything…

the only thing ill saw about twilight is that i felt the love more between bella and edward….edward was really weird in new moon. As a whole though, new moon was a better made movie.
only positive thing i can say is that when the new moon early draft was leaked it didnt have the proposal in the end and obviously that ended up in the movie, but i still dont know how you can't have the eclipse quote in the early draft. When i think of eclipse quotes, thats one of the first ones that comes to mind. She spends so much times on back stories and the army that she forgets about why we really love the story. Dum down the back stories to give us the good stuff. And if leg hitch doesnt end up in the final script, im gonna hunt MR down myself

I wish James Cameron would take BD into his own hands…..as a writer and director. Have you seen Avatar? AMAZING, BEYOND WORDS OF A MOVIE. Now THAT movie moved me and touched my heart.
I wish SM would come out of her shell and just take control. I love her, but sometimes it just seems like she doesn't take the initiative. She is the mother of the series, the books are her babies. Shouldn't a mother stand up for her children? I don't know what's wrong with her, but I have a feeling its because of Midnight Sun because ever since the MD incident happened we've been hearing less of Steph and its like she's dissappearing. I wish she'd just suck it up already, finish the damn book, and be a *true* representative of what the fans REALLY want. MR and Summit “claim” that they know what the fans want, and they really don't. THey think they can just throw something together, put some really hot and sexy guys in it, and call the movie a done deal while they wait for their mulah. Well, we want MORE. We want those moments that just make us love Twilight.
But one thing is that it is kinda hard to really get that *feeling* and mood a book has when it's written in first person. I know that it is hard because think about it, you feel like your in Forks, like your Bella because the book's in first person. It's hard to translate that all into a script, especially since a script can't completely be first person. BUT, that does not give MR any excuses whatsoever because I know she can do a better job. UGH She gets on my freakin nerves. I wish I'd gone to film making school and join the team at Summit so I can slap the $$$ away from the front of their vision and slap some SENSE into them.

EXACTLY! A lot of people who haven't read the books think that Edward is just some overprotective, controlling, abusive, stalker that wants to control Bella. UGH. Also, Edward is a little too stiff and serious in hte movies. He has a lighter, happier side to him. I don't know if its Rob (I still love Rob) or MR, but something has to change. I'm starting to like Jacob better than Edward in the movies because he's not as boring, and that's not how it's supposed to be because in the books I like Jacob and Edward equally! MR just pisses the hale out of me and I wish someone would fire her before she screws up BD!
P.S. The romance between Edward and Bella isn't all the way there yet either. I felt that in Twilight, they fell in love too soon. You can have amazing cinetatography, CGI, hair & makeup (except for the huge, blonde rat on Jasper's head) and gorgeous people, but if you don't deliver the mood, feeling, and deepness of the story, then the movie just isn't gonna cut it.
Wow! Great idea! James Cameron directing would be awesome. Breaking Dawn was my least favorite of the saga, but if James Cameron was the director it would be the sweeping epic of the whole series. Academy Awards worthy! No one else combines romance and adventure like him (except maybe Steven Spielberg, which would be a great choice too)! I like the way you think!
im just gonna give my guy opinion here…RP is definitely weird to me but its cool that hes down the earth. I like RP over TL though cuz TL is just so damn boring. RP is interesting and funny and taylor is just that boring, nice guy. He's boring and his character is boring and thats just the truth. Sorry to be harsh team jacob fans, but your character is not mysterious, deep, romantic, or interesting at all.
seriously, i cant wait for BD so this love triangle crap can be over. Like come on, in the script having bella jump on the motorcycle right in front of edward totally sends the wrong message and is so stupid to put in the script. The love towards jacob is disgusting me and the leave out all of edwards cute moments thought leave out or dumb down all of jacobs mean moments while making sure to add in all of jakes good moments. Im pretty sure there are more team edward fans than team jake fans so stop trying to please the minority. Gosh just do what the fricken books says, how hard can it be. Its like summit and MR are as dumb as rocks.
i advise never to read that script ever, u will be filled with utter rage and you will seriously wonder why anybody would ever employ MR. And seriously, eclipse pretty much starts out the first 400 pages as 95% edward. Then edward and jake get a little balanced after that, but by the end, we know its all about edward.
exactly jake is just that final obstacle to really show how strong bella and edwards love is. the favoritism towards jake makes me puke and these movies send messages to fans who dont read the books…the movies make jake look like a saint.

In the movie it's just like “Oh well, we'll just pick up where we left off” In the book this is where the B and E's relationship evolves to the next level…And also when B explains to E about the visions she's had and how that was her innerself explaining to her what she always knew…which is that E has always unconditionally loved her and she is worth it!

i agree. Personally i think it's good. But definitely there is room for improvement. I think some of the scenes as far as the dialogue, could have been handled a lot better.
My friends and I were talking about this as well. We all felt new moon was a better film in terms of quality,efx, etc and thought twilight was terrible. But somehow, twilight was much more addictive than new moon. We saw twilight multiple times in the theater but for new moon after a 2nd viewing we didn't feel the need to see it again. It's really odd.
Just read the scipt. Yes I agree with you all. I was looking for the scene about the bed and the leg hitch but it was left out. A lot of other relationship scenes were omitted as well. I guess it's just too difficult to keep it all in.
One thing that was definitely different was having Bella actually stab her arm like the third wife, having Riley smell the blood, which ends up saving Edward. If I recall, in the book, she actually never gets to that point. She's about to then Edward intervenes. That's completely different in the script. It's interesting how much the producers want to make bella a stronger character than the way she was written in the books.

As for the script, lets just say i was disappointed. There were a lot of good parts, but the bad parts outweight the good.
THe introduction is amazing, i will give her that…the fight sequences seem like they are gonna rock….she adds drama with the army forming and all that they are doing which is cool for added understanding.
But besides that she has no leg hitch…she doesnt even mention alice kidnapping bella. She has bella jumping on jakes moto right in front of edward which totally sends the wrong message. She goes into way too much detail with the backstories…its like she threw out all the cute moments but decided that it was ok to really elaborate on back stories back stories back stories.
THings are in the wrong place…the romance seems lacking for both jake and edward.
Im not gonna rant anymore cuz it just angers me, but this was only an early draft so im not too too worried yet.
I just really want leg hitch and alice kidnapping bella to be in there. Hopefully SM gave her some good notes after this draft and hopefully the actors will stand up for their characters if they believe the script is wrong in places.
JUst keep our fingers crossed…no reason to freak out yet. MR says she does like over 20 drafts or something and i think this was a very early one.

if james cameron made BD i would jizz in my pants…avatar was one of the greatest movies i have ever seen. I know the plot wasnt all too great b/c it was an introduction to a new concept, but unlike many people i like not knowing all the answers about a movie and wondering about the possibilities. James cameron would surely make BD the most bad ass movie alive but unfortunately we know we would never get him to do it and we will probably still end up being stuck with a pretty good director but a terrible terrible screenwriter.
Heres what we should get summit to do kill-i mean fire- MR. Then, hire all of us to make BD. We would all work on the script and direct and everything else.

I so completely agree with you. Bella wants to be turned to a vampire so she can love him and be with him for eternity. NOT because she feels like she belong in the vampire world. She only realizes that when she was a vampire. If MR changes this theme from the book…it completely change the whole story. I am so disappointed.

I am also somewhat worried about how this series will end. I love the books and i think what will be hard to deal with is when they cut out all the romance and passion and violence so that it is appropriate for their “target” audience. Well I'm sorry that I'm slightly older than thirteen, but at age 23 (the same as RPatz) I want to see the authentic, what was written in the book, raw sensuality that I read about in the last two books. Not what was dumbed down for the young kids so the parents (who let them read the books but dont want them to see it on the screen) will be ok with it? Does anyone else feel that the good parts will be left out so the production team can go ahead with their PG-13 rating. I dont have anything against tweens, but i like for the books i love to match the script.
I completely agree. Avatar was incredible! THAT moved me. And honestly BD may be the most important book in the series for me. SO James Cameron i believe could capture the emotional value, and not to mentiopn put in some killer 3D lol.
In a way, I REALLY want to see the script but I also don't. Since MR TOTALLY screwed up the set up for eclipse with Bella saying she loved Jake and chose Edward, i don't know that there will be as much Romantic value in the next film. Which is actually the main point of Eclipse with the love triangle. It seems like since she did that, the movie will ONLY be an action movie.
Anyway I agree with CF Team LoveyDovey Copward's comment. I wish SM would direct the whole movies and keep the script as the book is written. When I read the series, I would read Bella's lines aloud because i was completely intransed with her and FELT like I WAS her. I felt Edward as if i was there. THATS just how powerful the story is. And i think that any changes that are made for the movie adaptation takes away from that.

I DO mind them making Jacob less of a jerk. I mind many things they have done in the adaptation of these characters to screen. They have changed them, and it's apparent which way the saga's theme was leading when u saw in New Moon Jacob come up to Bella in the parking lot to give her the bday gift….I saw it right there, and i cringed. There is no denying that MR is Team Jacob and allows him a pedestal whereas Edwards gets a freaking stool :S

It was more about selling MR's favourite (Jacob) and elevating this “luv triangle” that never truly existed in that somewhat cliche way they tried to show it. There is little to Edward's true beauty (his amazing qualities that all of us Edward lovers could go on and on about) existent in NM and now Eclipse, apart from the exterior Robward and that stray line here and there—which is NOT ENUF. Noone who hasnt read the books would understand the intense appeal of him, bcuz his character has been picked apart and dumbed down and weakened and just wholly MINIMIZED by the mainly just plain ignorant MR.
I believe she skimmed the books and fell in luv with Jacob or something….i dont even want to go on cuz it's just…..i dont know…..wrong. She's just WRONG for the saga

I had mentioned in an earlier post that she messed up the ending. What is wrong with MR? What did she not understand. The ONLY reason bella wants to become a vampire is to be with EDward. I said the same thing bella does not have this revelation until after she becomes an immortal. That is when she sees that that is her true place in the universe. Im some ways i like what bella said at the end because when you read the books you see that bella was meant to be a vampire. She does belong in the world of vampires. But the way i see it she belongs in that world because she and Edward are destined to be together. So maybe Dum-dum MR should have written the the dialogue along those lines. Instead she wrote the lines to make it look like it was not all about Edward.
Did you also notice how assertive and bold bella was with jane. Again this happens when bella becomes a vampire. It seems to me like MR took the characters and made her own version of them. I tell you i would like to do nothing more than smack her for every line that she messed up. Then beat her senseless.

In summary…What Most of the fans try to say here is that whatever the scenes and Dialogs MR and David have decided to use THEY CANT Mess with the Nature of the Charactors and the emortional aspect of the story.
Yes we love some scens and some dialogs…because they explain the charactors and the tell the story for us. Yes we know that we cant have these scenes and conversations exactly the same as in the book…But the end of the film I want to feel fulfilled and complete and satisfied….Thats why dialogs and scenes are important….
The message is simple…What we miss in these films is that true nature of E/B relationship….. they have paid enough attention to bring other aspects right and in doing so they have completely fogotten that This is their story….
exactly….changing scenes and such wouldnt be so bad if by the end we still got a sense of what the real message was. But MR i guess feels that she wants to explain everything else and she totally forgets about edward and bella.
Its like she tries to please everyone else but the edward fans….she removes a couple edward moments but basically keeps all of jakes moments in eclipse and to make matters worse, she still always finds a way to make jake look better than was described in the book. She makes bella forgive jake really fast after jake tells her she is better off dead…and she leaves out the part where edward is telling bella how jacob tricked bella into kissing him after the tent scene and she has bella jump on jakes moto right in front of edward. She just totally sends the wrong message.
I realize that MR wants to please both fans so of course i knew she was gonna even out jake and edwards screentime even though in the book edward is way more present; however, i wouldnt be mad if she just sent the right message with both characters. But unfortunately, she always messes up the main message to me. She gets it right almost, but there are just little tweaks and deletions that she does so that the message comes off as wrong to me.
The script really isnt all that bad…hopefully she filled in some holes, added a couple more cute moments, and the movie will be really good. She goes great with the fight and the drama of the army building up and everything, but she needs to focus more on the nitty gritty. I feel like MR almost always has it perfect but in the end, she just keeps on failing to realize how to make the story perfect for movie purposes.
Totally agree! It's the story of Bella and Edward's relationship, everything else is a sub plot and should be secondary to that. But everything else seems to be taking precedence over it in the movies.
On a positive note though, Rob and Kirsten have managed both in Twilight and New Moon to overcome the lack of depth in the script and turn in top quality performances. Chances are they will do the same in Eclipse and save the day. I have faith in them!
I have not read the script, but I've read enough here to feel that MR is ADDING/TAKING AWAY parts of the story so that they can make two more movies. If this movie ends up being much like this script, then I'm left with a feeling of complete disruption of Edward and Bella's relationship at the end of the movie Eclipse. There's NO WAY they will be ready to get married in the next movie, even if he gets the ring on her finger in this movie. I won't buy it and I doubt anyone else who has read the books and loves the characters will buy it either.
All that being said, I really truly want to be excited for this movie to come out. I want it to be successful for the sake of the cast and crew who put so much work into it. It just feels like its going to be empty. Like the end of New Moon felt empty to me. There was so much missing between E/B.
The only way to get the characters back to what Stephenie Meyer invisioned (and GAVE US) and prepare the audence for what happens to them in BD is to have another movie in between Eclipse and BD that fills in the missing parts of the growth of their relationship.

OK, so, haven't read the script, and don't intend to. My line is no matter how stressed or upset I get about all this, the movie will be what it is regardless if I cry every time I read something that is out of line with what I think it should be (like Bella going on bike with Jake infront of Edward – HUH??? I don't think so)
ANYWAYS, leaked scripts is what I need info on please to all the gurus. Does anyone know if SM will ever release MIDNIGHT SUN? I can't find out ANY INFO on her website, and Im kinda new to the twilight phenomenum, so I missed all the riot about how that book got leaked etc, but I REALLY want her to do it, so if anyone has any info on that it would be really good. (I know there is 12 chapters floating in cyber space out there somewhere, but just want to know if she'll ever do it?)

It doesn't really look as if she will. She stopped writing it “indefinately”. Everytime she was in an interveiw and they asked her about it she said she “needed a break from vampires” and “didnt have any ideas for it” and “wanted people to forget about it”. i Really hope she finishes it, cuz it would hardly be fair if she doesnt. Actually i think the most likely outcome is that she starts writing it again in the next year or two, maybe when the movies r done? idk.
Just because Summit took a chance on this franchise, doesn't give them the right to tell a different story. I'm okay with artistic changes, but many of the changes have drastically altered the essence, the plot and the characters to the point where there's now an identity crisis. Is this a love story or an action movie? Why does Bella chose Edward? Why is she so devastated by his absence? Why can't Edward live without her? For people that haven't read the books, these questions were not answered in the NM movie and after reading the Eclipse script, I'm afraid the questions still have not been answered. The moments between E/B in that book are so critical to understanding story and are why we love the saga. So, I think the fate of this franchise has been sealed with the choice in directors and the scripts. To say that I'm disappointed is an understatement.
AND, Eclipse is NOT all about the fighting, but rather, it slowly builds up to it at the end of the book. As a matter of fact, most of the action is not even highlighted in the book. The ONLY fight that we are given a firsthand account of is when Edward and Seth kill Victoria and Riley to SAVE Bella. So, AGAIN, I'm okay with changes, but when those changes profoundly alter the foundation of the story, then change the title and don't call it the Twilight Saga. I know that the movie has been filmed, so it's a moot point. Shame on SM for letting them change her story and words to this degree. For all her talk about telling a different vampire story, it turns out that it was just talk. So, there is cause for concern because this is not the movie the book fans have been waiting, hoping to see. Trust me, you will be more disappointed than with you were with NM; we were willing to tolerate less Edward because that's the story, but not in Eclipse. And before you glass half full people jump in and say it will work out, let me stop you now. The ship sailed on this franchise when SM failed to protect her vision like JKR did with Harry Potter.

I have been thinking about SM and what she *hasnt* done for her adaptation since i realized there was no true “meadow scene” in twilight…and ESP. when , in NM, Edward says “I'm 109 !” [yrs old}…I couldnt believe HOW SM could have let MR get away with MESSING UP E's AGE! I mean, he's 108…this may be *small* but it's actually a HUGE thing in my eyes, cuz it just shows…..a disregard? I totally agree she has failed to protect her vision and it just doesnt sit well with me. She knows her characters better than anyone, how could she not correct even the slightest of infractions?
HOw much does this show that she cares?
Ive heard another comment that says it seems she really has “Sold out”…..i just dont know what to think when the essence of her 2 main characters is stripped to ——- in front of her eyes?????…………….is it really that ok to her?? :S :S :S It just makes me wonder

You're right about the end of NM….”empty”…I didnt care about the shock value (that was obviously mainly CW's idea and more for ante-ing up the “anticipation factor for the 3rd movie” for fans and the shock for everyone else)
The emptiness bcuz so much from e/b relationship is missing. It just seems too shallow a lot of the time…and u dont comprehend what they say cuz the dialogue is so bunged up and if there is an absence of true passion and adoration and love, why SHOULD anyone understand why these 2 NEED to be together? (esp when J and B are strung together whenever possible thanx to MR :

And CH did the reshoot of the meadow (fake grass and flowers in studio in LA) in postproduction (read about in director's notebook, i believe) cuz she “forgot” about it or something??? That is just strange :S
And that's such a good point, i never realized before, about Edward sucking the venom. Now u reminded me of that line “I thought i wasnt gonna be able to stop….” (in movie)

I totally agree with you. I saw a few comments regarding movies are not like the books…I completely understand that movies adaptation of books are not like the books. However, I feel that it's important to keep the essence of the characters regardless of how things are changed. For me, although Twilight the movie was not exactly like the book…the essence of the characters were the same as the book or changed for the better (I think Bella is a little stronger). I feel that New Moon the movie and the Eclipse the movie has changed the essence of the some of the main characters for the worse (Bella and Edward) and the storyline (Bella becomes a vampire because she feels she belongs in that world is all wrong in the script…she wants to because she wants to be with Edward forever/eternity). She changing this completely change the theme of the books for me. I agree with a few comments that the Eclipse script is not that bad. Like I said before, RM did a great job with Jacob, the back stories, and a few of the dialogue between E/B and E/B/J. My only concern is that changes or rewording most of the dialogue and actions between E/B and E/B/J did not keep same meaning as in the book…it changes the story and the essence of the characters. I am crossing my fingers that Rob and Kristen will make better the materials that where given to them with their acting skills.=P

O.M.G, everything you mentioned in your other post, the convo's in the car, the walking her to class and stroking her face, the 'Be safe' note!!!! Everything you mentioned are the exact same things I think should have been in the film.
The annoying thing is that they are all really small things which would have taken up little screen time but they would have made such an impact in the film and you would have got more of the sweetness of B and E's budding romance.

Before you gals decide that you want to fire someone, it is essential to learn about the movie business. MR (Melissa Rosenger) is just a screenwriter. Melissa gets guidance from Stephenie Meyer. Stephenie has to approve the script. The producers have the final say. They are the ones that make the decisions about what goes in the movie or not. The script is used to establish a budget. Any special effects and what not expenses need to be planned based on the script. If you want to (as if you could) fire someone, you should fire the producers. If this happens, Breaking Dawn won't get made.
Be happy with what you get from the Twilight books and from everyday life. If don't like it, go to Film school and become Directors and Producers. The film industry (and all other industries as well) is man dominated.
“Just a screenwriter”? She is the professional, making a script, bringing to SM for approval. Who's to say what goes on in that conversation. Perhaps SM doesn't agree with a lot of it, but these are movie producers and screen writers telling her this is how it should be. But I do think SM is somewhat at fault if she approved this stuff, though MR isn't that great with the lines in the movie.
BD can still get made, unless Stephanie has finally sold the right to Summit.

Don't think I said that she should be fired, just that she's crap at adapting the books onto the screen, which she quite evidently is.
Not sure I agree with you on how much control SM has over the script after she's sold the rights. She's there to be consulted but MR can do pretty much whatever she wants within reason and has proved that time and time again much to everyones annoyance.
As you say the producers have the final say, so if the final scripts of 'Twilight' and 'New Moon' are anything to go by, imagine how bad the scripts were before any suggested changes by SM or the producers!
At the end of the day Melissa Rosenberg is paid to do a job and do it well, it's her area of expertise and she shouldn't have to rely on SM or the producers to do her job for her. If the script is bad and characters or plot have been altered in the wrong way, then I don't blame producers, directors or cast, I blame the screenwriter.
If 'Twilight' the book was crap and had poor dialogue and characters, would you blame the publishers or would you blame the author??
It all boils down to what you want from a film. It's very personal. Some people prefer more action or special effects. I would prefer to see less of those elements and more time spent on character development because If you don't know the characters then you don't care about them or understand them.
But at least we have the books to remind us!!

It would be nice to be able to change it up after Eclipse and give BD to someone else….but really, how do we know what another Prod. Co. would do w/ the last book?
Besides, that's a moot point anyway, since they got the rights to all 4 books a while ago.
If anyone's read the book, they know it CANNOT be realized in 2 hrs 10 mins.

This has been bugging me. On the official Twilight Saga website when you click to go into the Cullens house you hear a soundbite of Edward saying 'Every second I'm with you is about restraint'. Now where the heck was that in NM?? And I wonder if it was maybe taken from a deleted scene and if so will we get to see it do you think??
It's so frustrating because when I first heard it before NM came out I thought that we would be getting more about B/E and their struggles with their attraction to each other, but no. I don't know about anyone else but I would have loved to have seen rob looking all intense at Kirsten and saying that!
Then I was holding out for eclipse to deal with those issues but obviously that's not happening either. Where's the electricty?? It's not translating at all on SCREEEEEEENNN!!! ahhhhhh!!!

I thought the EXACT same thing…Id heard the “restraint” line is fan vids on utube, and was like, Ohhhhhh that is such an intense line! Then, of course, NADA in the movie.
Just the “u dont belong in my world bella”. I wonder what else they cut out from that breakup scene, redoing it however many times they did? And i think we can only hope for the deleted scenes on the dvd…the “after italy” Charlie/B/E scene is gonna be a deleted one too. We'll see what CW did with that…and what MR DIDNT do w/ it…..
The only thing in the eclipse script is, re: after bella asks for se*x, E says something like “when you're not so breakable”. But really, have we even been shown how fragile (physically) Bella is compared to vamps anyway?? That's never been really been shown or developed.
AND i was just thinking about it cuz i just reread eclipse (3rd time) and it reminds me how Bella's mind-block against Edwards mind reading is a major theme in the books, but seems to be lost in the movies….esp when u read how intense Edward is on Bella waiting for her to speak her demands/prereq's on the bed…he's waiting oh so patiently but then u know how difficult it can be on him when he says “Please Bella. BEFORE i go mad??” <====omy, i luv seeing smoldering Edward in my mind

Totally, as you say where is the smouldering?? Its what Edward does best and the only reason that there is a tiny bit of it in the movies so far is because Rpatz generally just smoulders as himself! But it ain't in the script damn it.
Edward is a smoulder machine in Eclipse!! That's one of the reasons it's my favourite book. I want to see it! When you're lucky enough to have someone as perfectly suited as Rob playing Edward you should be draining every last drop of smoulder you can get out of him, he has so much of it to give and there's so many scenes in Eclipse to use for that!
I'm getting serious smoulder deficiency here!!
Also totally agree about the vampire element. It's not evident enough. When you see Edward in New Moon in Italy you can see that he has dark rings under his eyes and you know that's because he hasn't fed, sorry I should say you know if you've read the books, because MR doesn't ever refer to it in the movies!!!! People are just left to wonder what he's been at, maybe he was the night before with the Volturi boys on a booze up and he has a hangover??

they claim they have little time in the movie to insert the entire story but invent scenes that could not exist instead of putting the great scenes that everyone wants to see on it. I can't understand it at all

Well I hope Summit reads this I read a part of the Eclipse script I was very upset to see Bella being rude to Edward she actually rides of with Jacob right in front of Edwards eyes no way Bella would do so she only thinks of going to Jacob when Edward is not around gone for hunting please edit or change the scene its not at all like this in the book. She will never ever leave Edward and go to Jacob she will never tell Edward to go away their is a dialogue in the script she tells Edward ” you should go no rush I am good here” she will never tell Edward to go and not come back soon she finds it difficult living even a single day without him that is a part of their love that has to be proved in Eclipse and why they need to be together only emergency circumtances can push them apart like Edward has to leave her and go hunting Well she tricks Alice and goes with Jacob in the book which is ok not in front of Edward.
Wow – that's a lot of words and not much punctuation! LOL I know, it very upsetting and I agree that Bella would NEVER behave that way toward Edward. It's just wrong, wrong, wrong!
Your comment is a wee bit patronising. MR wrote the script and the script is inaccurate and missing vital elements. We want to see a book we love done justice. MR hasn't done this. Full stop.

Is it just me or was it the conversations B & E had and the things her said to her that made you fall for him in the book? R-Patz could have stood there mute and I would fall for him – hang on didn't he do that in a few vital scenes (what were they saying in the tree??) – but seriously, they did talk in the book didn't they? I was reading the same book as MR??
THERE WAS NO BUILDING OF THEIR RELATIONSHIP – but many others have talked about this more elequently on here. I did really like NM for the most part in it's own right (semi naked R-Patz & Taylor added to the charm) but I TOTALLY agree about B & E. I liked the way they showed Bella & Jake's realtionship but yet again failed miserably with B & E. MR must have had her Team Jacob poster in full view when she was writing this one. Surely the part before he left was the perfect time to show some real passion in their relationship,not to mention………OMG – so much ranting – so little time!!!!!!!!!!

Why would we want to see E & B looking like extra's from Dr Quinn Medicine Woman when we could be seeing some passion between them. Lets be honest any woman in her right mind would be trying their luck with Edward but what about showing his feelings for her and some of the humour and friendship in their relationship – I think i'm getting off the point here!
Alice is a brilliant character and Ashley is perfect at the part – it's such a waste to miss her out. They're making these films all action and no relationships when that's what the whole story is about.

Love the fact that you two are reading my mind. There is so so much more they could have done to make these films amazing. I know people are saying that a film can never match a book and that's okay, we know that but when they've cast the characters so perfectly (in my opinion) that it's so disappointing not to see the scene's we love brought to life. There are so many lines in the book that Rob would make totally amazing given half the chance.

like when E is helping B open up her bday gift….and B is holding back tears when her Lullaby starts playing….OME HOWWWWW Did they not include this scene in NM?!?!! (And her finding all the gifts gone after [remember "it will be like i never existed"? and Bella falling to her knees and then on her face and she basically just blacks out?] so intense and crippling…)
….And Edward lifts Bella up w/ one arm and sets the quilt over her w/ the other…then spoons her…..oh wowza. And E is always waiting for B after she comes back from the bathroom…Oh man…such memorable moments <3

Was reading a bit of New moon yesterday when they're watching the video of Romeo and Juliet in Bella's house alone (why'd the change it to the effing classroom??) and she sits on the edge of the sofa and he grabs her and pulls her to him…
B: “Do you want me to watch this alone??”
E: “No, I'll mostly be watching you anyway.”
Then he starts whispering all Romeo's lines in her ear! Had to go and lie down after that.
Ahhhh!! I would rather have seen that wee intimate moment between them than the scene in the clasrsoom where he says the lines to Mr effing Burdy instead!!!! WHERE IS THE LOVE???!!

Their conversation at the movies, at his house, in her room, in the car!!! Can we have at least one real boyfriend/girlfriend moment with B/E pleeeeeeeease!!!

Edward is one of the most passionate, loving and romantic heros I've ever read about and she has totally transformed him into a pathetic side kick to Bella warrior princess.
I want to see him get angry! I want to see him threaten Jacob, hold Bella hostage in his room and love Bella the way he does in the book. I want to see his passion and yearning, his sweetness and see him take charge of the situation which he always does.
Aren't they the things we loved about him in the book? He has b@lls in the book but MR has totally removed them. That's cruelty to intensley hot vampires that is!

No wonder why there is so much criticism of Edward being a stalker etc….on the net….. the films just don't understand the perfection of the character…. so many left out.
I saw the two movies just 3 months ago and then I read the books. But I never expected to treat like that the third book. I read the script and I believe that it was a “made-to-happen-leak”. This script is an entirely different movie that only used the main story line and the names. Nor the characters or the feeling are the same.
The scenes wasn't left out, they were altered…. really…. really you want me to believe that Edward and Jake almost started a fight outside Bellas house *after the kiss* and Charlie was in the middle of this touching both their bodies….? Would ever Edward allow her to go on a motorcycle with Jake just outside school? What… he is a moron now? Where is the protectiveness in that, the denial, the jealousness, the Hithcliff part…”I want to rip his heart out and drink his blood”…. every single scene in that script is manufactured to give us a big headache…
Where is Edwart being angry as hell because she went to La Push, or when Jake said to Bella that he preffered her being dead than being a bloodsucker…? Now tell me…. was there anyway that Edward would let Bella run after Jake in the forest, just before the battle and just sit around the tent waiting for her? What is the point in this?
And don't let me started on the …. “I m not just choosing between just you and Jacob, Edward…. I 'm choosing between my normal life and who I should be”. What? She want to be a vampire now because she is stumbling a lot? HaHaHaHa…. I thought the whole movie was that they couldn't nor wanted to be apart from each other.
No tears for Jacob after all…..Hah….. Just chose the man who would give her the life she wanted lighthearted and even giggles about the ceremony not even caring for anything else… she even wanted it…. where is Bella and what have you done with her…..? They screwed Edward (sucks) but this is an entirely different think.
It is good that they left the faint-parts out of the two first movies but to make her rebel and be strong enough to speak against Jane…? Maybe we should say that Edward has felt for another girl and even name her…. maybe Lisa….
So I strongly believe that Summit has purposely leaked -the 114 pages- so called eclipse script to make it a much more intriguing for us…. and who ever didn't read it I strongly recommend that you didn't. Not even a little glance at it… It is a blasphemy….. as Edward Cullen would say….!!!

Edward is jealous but… *he isn't stupid to stick it on his forehead*, Bella never sees it…. Edward is the one who explains…. Edward is the one in control of every situation…. calling the shots…. never leaving Bella out of his sight…. He is a multi-dimensional character because he feels emotion the strongest of all, feels emotions for the first time but controls himself never to show them.
He confronted Jake for the unwilling kiss but never had in mind to hurt him bcuz *…..Bella would mind in the morning…..*
He was furious about Bella's theory that Victoria was behind the Vampire army…. I flied over the script to find the scene and again I thought I was reading another story…. nothing…..no furious….
Bella' s idea to cover her smell?….. come on. She would never had any clue about the smells if they didn't tell her….
Every line they put into Edward's mouth in that script is a joke…. Don't feel sorry… because you are right on the target.
Eclipse in my favorite book, because we see a more human Edward who struggles with his emotions and his unbearable love for that very human girl.
In the first two books we saw Edward the vampire feeling the love for the first time, the struggle to be away from the center of his existence, his sorrow for not being able to protect her from what he is… and the movies show enough for all the people to understand this.
But Eclipse is a totally different thing. He feels more human…. he has emotion he never thought he would have and again manages to control himself. That's the point of the tent scene. Anyone who didn't understand him in the first chapters gets to see what is on Edward's mind. But “the tend scene” in the script was written just to say a few catchy lines… He just sat there talked to his buddy *jacob* and then left his girlfriend go and make out with him…… Bella never got to say …..Jacob get out of here…. what? she wanted Jacob to hold her while Edward was sitting right next to her? Edward never got to push him away in the morning? And the thing he says about his best night of his life just for Jacob to hear he is marrying Bella?…. very very very bad written…. Is the least I can say.
In the book he even felt sorry and went to bring Jacob back. He even said to Bella that he is going to step aside and have any peace of him she wants. Bella has to try to win him, to tell him that he is the one for her and never dear to quite….. But there was nothing in that script… even for that part …nothing
It just makes me so sad that she is getting away with it…how is this possible??
Surely the entire cast and crew will have had to read the book and have opinons on it. How can SM look at the scripts and say that they are good enough. These are her creations. She has sold out.

I just broke down and read the script.. I can't stop shaking my head. When you think things can't get any worse HAHAHA.. Edwarddisgentleman says it all.. I know Bella needed to be portrayed as a strong character but they lost the pure connection of Edward and Bella in New Moon (where was the bedroom scene and the proposal negotiation, what a joke). So many key scenes excluded.. Completely disappointed. I would write Stephanie if I thought that would change the outcome but unfortunately I know it won't.. Its too late for Eclipse.. As many of you know I have frequented this page and its sister pages in the past; but I don't want to waste my time on something that really won't give me the output that I'm obviously longing for. The passion that I felt when reading the books. The love, anguish, fustration and content that I received from the books won't be transformed. Such a pity that people that are watching the movies and haven't read the books will be watching this crap and looking at us loyal fans and think we clearly have no taste in reading.
It broke my heart and pissed me off when I read that Bella hopped on the bike in front of Edward… Umm this was the man that made a huge hole in her less than 6 months prior and now she's running off with Jacob.. umm. what? umm WHAT??? your kidding right. Where was the kidnapping scene with Alice in that script, where was the morning after the proposal scene between Alice and Bella. Pls. it wouldn't take that much time to set that scene up.. Maybe 5-10 minutes of dialogue at most. I'd stay and watch it..Hopefully Kristen and Rob will have some say in this and get it right. I have one thing to say to Stephanie.. Shame on you for allowing this to happen. Your obviously in it for the money and not the story. Wake up.. This is your story!!! You don't need the money, do the books (BD) justice.. I know you have creative say in story lines you have to see this as your readers already do.

OMG the tent scene.. I forgot about how bad the top 10 best nights of Edwards were written in the script. I couldn't believe my eyes. That was such a wonderful part in the book between Edward and Bella.. I loved the intimacy.. But MR writing how Bella runs into the forest to get Jacob..please. such crap. such an embarassment.

It actually breaks my heart because when you're reading the books you feel every word, every emotion. When I was reading it I was in a constant state of disbelief over how amazing Edward's character was, so selfless, sweet and passionate. He would rather suffer himself that hurt Bella, unlike Jacob's character, and therefore hide his own hurt and pain, not show it.
You fall in love with him yourself because of how much he loves Bella and the books let you see how much through the way he behaves and reacts, but the movies don't do that at all. They keep him at a distance. You don't feel a connnection with him and therefore you don't understand Bella's connection, especially in this script.
If I didn't read the books and just watched the movies I'd be thinking 'why doesn't she just go off with the other guy, they have more of a connection'. And that is SO WRONG!!!

How easy can SM make it for her? A perfect scene with all three of the players together and all the best dramatic elements included. An insight into Edward's thoughts and feelings, a face off between E and J over the woman they love, and she still manages to screw it up!
Every potential intimate moment is destroyed. Makes me want to cry!

Did you notice the complete role reversal with Jacob and Edward.. Jacob is suppose to be contrast of “good Jacob vs. bad Jacob (Bella's “My Jacob”). It makes him look completely normal. He's suppose to be unbalanced. The wolf gene just kicked in; its a chemical unbalance that he needs to get use to.
I'm embarassed because at this point so many people who know me know that I'm an avid reader that has just dabbled in this “kind” of book genre. I'm not a big romance novel reader.. But I have campaigned relatives/friends to read her novels just to watch it fall apart on the big screen. I'm really feel sorry for Rob if this is the “Edward” that he has to portray. All of the main cast have read the books and were as passionate about them as we are. Can you imagine what there going through having to say this crap?!

Completely, he is continually lashing out at Bella in the book and saying hurtful things because of his confusion, but instead of dealing with that potentailly interesting storyline they are just making him 'normal as you say.
I know what you mean about the books. It's an unexplainable thing and I totally didn't see it coming. Bought Twilight one day on a whim and thought I would hate it and then I got completely emersed in it! Took over my life haha. Then I had to get all my friends to read it because I was going on and on about it and about Edward and they'd thought I'd gone mad!
I always try and get my friends to read the books first before they watch the moviesotherwise they are not going to understand the obsession.

What the heck. I'm so disappointed. I really am… I'm hoping that the day that they had filming with DS in the closed set included this as well..
I think everyone here is saying the same thing just differently.. Every part of the books shouldn't be rushed and brushed over. The mean something important to the story and the characters. We got to know our Edward, Bella, Jacob, Carlisle, Charlie, The wolf pack and the Cullens by each of those parts. To eliminate any part of it is doing it an injustice. No one will get the essence of each character or the families tie if they don't include the points.
I believe it is as well… Summit suxs that way. I know from DS twitter account that a promo isn't ready yet… Lets hope they included and changed alot more than what we read..

I'm in agreement with every single word. Edward has no reason to be immature as you say he has had over 100 hears to learn and mature as a man and never reacts without thinking it through. That's the whole contrast between him and Jacob, they are opposites in every way. Fire and Ice.
And the Cullens? Who are they? If you haven't read the books you'll have no idea. Two films have passed and we hardly know them, especially Carlisle, the figurehead of the family, with such an interesting backstory.
That scene you described from Eclipse is one of my fav ones to. So lovely. I had to read it so many times because you're feeling the same emotional connection with them. As you say, hopefully DS will have had more imput into what is to be included or altered. We have to hope I suppose!

uh hummmmm I have been saying since DAY one Melissa Rosenberg has ruined this saga, we can only hope in my lifetime somebody realizes the potential of telling this story and does a remake. It is sad the original actors can't be in it but I would forfeit that just to be able to see the story done some JUSTICE. Her FEW moments of decent writing do not impress me enough to go see Eclipse I will wait for the video. Sorry David Slade and crew I love you guys but I really wish i had not read the books first so I wouldn't be so pi___________ off about the writing in these scripts.
Today I am more convinced that this script is only bull….t.They want us to feel anxious. I trully believe that SM would never do that to Edward. He is her favourite character…. she even said that she is madly in love with him from day one….

A:Sort of. In the original screenplay, Jacob’s visit to Bella’s room that one night didn’t exist. The necessary information was still there, it was just scattered through a few other scenes. I really missed that scene, but change (and cutting!) is a part of the adaptation process—especially when you write really long books—so I was prepared to suck it up. And then Chris Weitz felt like we needed that scene, too, and he wrote up a beautiful version I love. And we all lived happily ever after.

Yeah there's another post about Chris Weitz I was reading where he said that the scene with Carlisle stiching up Bella's arm wasn't in an early script and he felt that it needed to be so he put it in. It gives me hope.
However CW has been a screenwriter for major films and so knows how to look at something from that perspective, DS has less experience in that field which slightly worries me. But I loike what you were saying about it being leaked to create 'buzz' alone.

She had a better colaboration with Meyer, everybody from the crew had an opinion and ideas about the script and David kept sending back a lot to change until the script finished. She said that it wasn't something she did by herself, but everybody contributed to this work…

OMG Guys, what the hell is going on. I haven't read the script (cos I know it would make me cry and there's nothing I can do about it anyways) but Im just FREAKING OUT here. I have been reading all your posts and where the hell is my Edward???? I can see them really just pushing him to one side, cos they did it in NM, they made him look pathetic and pompous, and that's not our Edward is it? Honestly, this character is one of the best there is, and they are totally screwing it. BIG TIME. I soooo hope your right with it being a bogus script – giving us something to do for a week so we are distracted from when they are gunna release a trailer, but geez, I am so friggin nervous about them totally screwing it. WHAT were they thinking – Bella would NEVER jump on Jake's bike infront of Edward????? She wouldn't even know jake was on the damn bike cos she can't take her eyes off E when she's with him. Hopefully….This script is isn't be the final. I don't think it is. It was released in mid July. If you remember at comic con (end of July), Robert mentioned the 'Eclipse' script in a question and how he has become argumentative about certain aspects of his character. Here is the question & response:
Question: Can you talk about why teenagers love vampires?
Pattinson: “I think we’re the worst people to ask about it. I don’t know, the problem is that when I looked at it I never looked at it as a vampire story, right from the beginning. When I try to play it I try to eliminate the vampire element as much as I can and just kind of see it as a tool to make their relationship a little more fraught. Right after the audition I found myself kind of bizarrely invested in the story and I hadn’t even read the books at that point. I’ve kind of gotten more and more attached to it. I’ve been talking about the script for ‘Eclipse’ to people over the last few weeks and I find myself getting very argumentative which I’m not usually. They definitely have some kind of power.”

I said it before and I ‘m saying again…. DON’T READ THE “SCRIPT”…. It won’t make anything better…. I read it and I wish I never did…. It surely didn’t make anything good to me, only a big headache.
I strongly believe that this isn’t “the script”. It has nothing to do with Eclipse.
The script from Twilight was made in a harry because of a strike.
The script from NewMoon wasn’t as it would be if RM had more the help of SM because they didn’t know each other so well. Finally it was handed over to Chris who listened to SM and he also believed that some scenes should be changed and he did himself. The bedroom scene with Jacob and Bella was never on the script of RM, but Chris wrote it. SM knows her story and wants to be told as it should
The script from Eclipse had better collaboration with SM, more time to write and rewrite, RM listened to the opinions of the crew who love the book of Eclipse. (That are the words from RM herself in and interview at comiccon).
Tyler (Jacob) said that his favourite scene from the book and also from the movie is the tent scene.

So true Its Catherine Hardwicke who brought Twilight to us its Catherine who gave summit and twifans the perfect Edward Cullen and the rest of the characters. New Moon is not a hit becoz of Chris Weitz its a hit becoz its the sequel of such a good film (Twilight). Catherine brought out Edward and Bellas passionate romance so beautifully and aesthetically with its brilliant music score so she should complete the saga. Chris Weitz only concentrate on the wolfs please summit do not drift from the centre plot of the story Bella and Edwards story. Chris also tampered a lot with the original script written by Mellissa R. We should all VOTE for Catherine to direct B/D.
Bella and Edward hardly showed a connection in the end of New Moon they needed to show how much they love each other,how they are addicted to each other and how badly they missed each other and well they cannot live without each other. . Chris W only concentrated on promoting Jacob. Finally its Bella and Edwards love story and how they over come all the obstacles in their life to be together Jacob is just one of the obstacles hope Summit remembers this . Hope Eclipse brings back Bella and Edwards magic created in twilight.
Amen, my friend introduced me to Twilight, and said don't bother with the movice because it sucks, the book is so much better. I have read all 4, several times, and Eclipse is my favorite, I am upset that more of Edward-Bella romance is not in it. MR sucks, someone needs to come back and do a remake of what she screwed up.

The thing is that I'm in another group of fans. I first came across twilight without knowing it. I saw a trailer accidentally in a movie I was watching alone at home (and I realized about that a few months ago, because what I do remember about the trailer is that the girl moved out to her father's house and everything was kind of green and Cedric Diggory was there LOL). After that, my mom told me: hey there's this new movie about a human and a vampire that fall in love and it seems to be quite popular, have you watched it? And I was like: no, and I'm not planning to…
Then a friend of mine (who hadn't seen the movie): you have to watch this movie it's awesome! (poor girl LOL)
And I wasn't very enthusiastic about it, but I finally decided to download it, because they told me that it wasn't worth it to watch it on theaters and I'm more like the “just-special-effects-movies-on-theaters” type. I watched a half of it and I thought: the love-story is beautiful, but I don't “love” the movie, so I'm gonna stop watching it and I'm gonna buy the book. I loved it, I watched the movie on theaters because I was still on time. And I didn't liked the movie as much. I was actually quite disappointed. Then I read the whole saga in a week, and that gave me too much waiting, so I finally found this website and here I am, one of the most MR's enemies.

It is the part in Eclipse where Edward comes back from hunting and takes Bella to the new bed in his room and moves her leg up over his hip.
Which in turn means he leg hitched her. So hot.

Seriously, why is it such a huge deal that Bella walks over to Jacob and says, “Can I go with you for a ride?” THEY ARE BEST FRIENDS!!! Sure, Edward will get jealous, but this is such a small part of the script, that its just not a big deal. And plus, it might be taken out of the final draft of the script, or even cut from the movie…you never know

In the book Edward makes everything to keep her away from Jake. He is the man he has to be so to protect her. It' s not about friendship. In the book Bella wants to go with Jake but she would never do something in front of Edward because this would make him suffer, he would be insulted and humiliated.
That very scene of the script is what we should never see. It is not why SM wrote Eclipse.
When Bella left from work to go and see Jake in La Push *alone* Edward was furius. He stood back in her room without being able to speak, pinching his nose in the same way he did when he wanted to kill the bad guys in Twilight and Bella is afraid of him.
In the script we don't get to see even that. Bella comes back from her little rebelion and everything is peachy. right.
And if you can't understand that, maybe I have to wait for you until you feel the same feelings Edward has, so you can get the explanation
I guess that your right in some ways. I'm sure (actually I'm positive) thay Edward would not allow any of that at all. But why should he be mad?I know he he thinks Jacob is dangerous, but Bella herself tells Edward to back off alittle. And in the books, and often in the movies, Edward always obeys her wish.
And things should be fine when she gets back. He knows that she loves him, and he understands that Jacob would never hurt Bella. But that still doesn't mean that Edward doesn't hate him. It just means that he loves Bella so much that he wants to make her happy.
I have to admit anyways that that scene was a little bit corny, but I don't think that it will have anny affect on the finished film.
Oh, Bella and Edward's romance…it transcends all and everything…and it is obviously too much for MR to understand, cuz MR has diluted and mangled this story….i know
And, yes, the “never” line –and its INTENSITY—should have been there in NM, absolutely. (Was so sad when it wasnt)

the movies don't come close to the books, MR is a misguided and heartless writer, she should be removed. The movies are not about the love story, but more about Robert Pattinson and 'the eight pack sextuplets'! I thought the Eclipse script was horrible, even if any earlier version, not much would have changed knowing MR. I find that every single moment WE as fans wanted to see, were not in the films and replaced by shit that wasn't in the books! No leg hitch, no seduction, no Edward giving in at the meadow, no tent scene of Jacob and Edward talking in full length. New moon was missing so much power from the books, I was disappointed that there was no discussion in the end like the book. Twilight was just crap, where was the first kiss in the forest, where was the conversation they had the first night he spent with her (with her knowledge), where was the kiss against the jeep……. These are all scenes we wanted to see!!! And lets just get this out now so there's no question, the whole saga is sexual tension, period. The movies don't show the love and passion in their relationship, and quite frankly Kristen Stewart looks constipated throughout the entire 2 films so far. She over acts big time. Don't get me wrong I have enjoyed her work in the past, but she is NOT Bella. (Roberts acting has improved however.) Bella in the books was witty and had more spunk to her, Stewart does not show any of that. And where the hell is the lip biting and crooked smile, I mean come on people, its not that freakn' hard to do!!!!! MR, as well as Stephenie Meyer and crew involved with films, should have taken better care in ensuring we got what were paying millions around the world to see. I will not be seeing Eclipse and definitely won't be seeing Breaking Dawn, why? lets face it, we all know whats not going to be in there!!!! Thank you Summit and MR for ruining a love story, adored by billions. Have the balls to do it right, if your going to tackle an epic love like this one.

Things were never fine after she got back from La Push in the book. She left all alone, so she pays, that is actually why Edward made Alice abduct Bella for two days. He would never listen to her and back off on that. But when Jake comes to school (when Edward is away hunting) and Bella leaves with him (as in the book) Edward understands that Bella would always find a way and eventually she would get hurt (bad luck, remember). So, that's WHY she lets her do what she wants, because in that way he can watch over her and protect her as much as he can.
In the tent scene from the book he gets to say that:
-”Yes, I am worried when she is all alone with you” (Jake) –
- “Yes, I am jelous”, (Because Bella is with Jake in La Push where Edward can't see what is happening)
- “Yes, I am jelous about that too”.(Because Bella leaves Edward and goes to spend time with Jake)
What is there to discuss?. He explains everything. That's why we have the tent scene. Go and read it again…..
Honestly, haven't you learned by now that they can't include EVERYTHING from the book?? It doesn't matter. Why is it such a big deal that she goes onto a bike with Jacob? I understand that things shouldn't be okay with them. But it doesn't ruin the movie just because they aren't angry at each other!

I didn't like the first movie. Sorry, but it's true. I never saw the movie in cinemas because I was a latecomer to the Twilight world, but by the time the DVD came out I was nearing the end of my evolution into the Twi-hard fan you see today. Therefore I watched it with brimming enthusiasm. And two hours later I was left in bitter disappointment. NM gave me hope again. I don't know why, because I run with the vampires, but I was able to watch and come out of the cinema feeling that it could be ok. And now we come to Eclipse. I have not seen the script, nor do I want to, and frankly the way people are talking I am getting terrified. This is the movie that me and my two Twi-hard buddies have been gagging for since my hard work to turn them from TE and TS to TJ paid off, and I swear to God that you do not want to mess with them if they are disappointed by it. Best Friend No 1 has been threatening to get on a plane and force them to remake all the movies if they don't live up to her satisfaction
