I didn't like the first movie. Sorry, but it's true. I never saw the movie in cinemas because I was a latecomer to the Twilight world, but by the time the DVD came out I was nearing the end of my evolution into the Twi-hard fan you see today. Therefore I watched it with brimming enthusiasm. And two hours later I was left in bitter disappointment. NM gave me hope again. I don't know why, because I run with the vampires, but I was able to watch and come out of the cinema feeling that it could be ok. And now we come to Eclipse. I have not seen the script, nor do I want to, and frankly the way people are talking I am getting terrified. This is the movie that me and my two Twi-hard buddies have been gagging for since my hard work to turn them from TE and TS to TJ paid off, and I swear to God that you do not want to mess with them if they are disappointed by it. Best Friend No 1 has been threatening to get on a plane and force them to remake all the movies if they don't live up to her satisfaction

I'm most looking forward to the backstories and the fight anyway *shrugs*

the movies don't come close to the books, MR is a misguided and heartless writer, she should be removed. The movies are not about the love story, but more about Robert Pattinson and 'the eight pack sextuplets'! I thought the Eclipse script was horrible, even if any earlier version, not much would have changed knowing MR. I find that every single moment WE as fans wanted to see, were not in the films and replaced by shit that wasn't in the books! No leg hitch, no seduction, no Edward giving in at the meadow, no tent scene of Jacob and Edward talking in full length. New moon was missing so much power from the books, I was disappointed that there was no discussion in the end like the book. Twilight was just crap, where was the first kiss in the forest, where was the conversation they had the first night he spent with her (with her knowledge), where was the kiss against the jeep....... These are all scenes we wanted to see!!! And lets just get this out now so there's no question, the whole saga is sexual tension, period. The movies don't show the love and passion in their relationship, and quite frankly Kristen Stewart looks constipated throughout the entire 2 films so far. She over acts big time. Don't get me wrong I have enjoyed her work in the past, but she is NOT Bella. (Roberts acting has improved however.) Bella in the books was witty and had more spunk to her, Stewart does not show any of that. And where the hell is the lip biting and crooked smile, I mean come on people, its not that freakn' hard to do!!!!! MR, as well as Stephenie Meyer and crew involved with films, should have taken better care in ensuring we got what were paying millions around the world to see. I will not be seeing Eclipse and definitely won't be seeing Breaking Dawn, why? lets face it, we all know whats not going to be in there!!!! Thank you Summit and MR for ruining a love story, adored by billions. Have the balls to do it right, if your going to tackle an epic love like this one.

I don't know what's wrong with those guys. Honestly I just read the script and I agree it is bad. Come on they should at least try to make it good. Honestly what on earth is wrong with them. :(

I'm back on here after a few days. I found the New Moon script on youtube by accident today (i m a youtube freak, admittedly) and i've read some of it....I was curious and wanted to make my comparisons, since ive already seen the movie 6 times and cant be spoiled, lol
I was NOT expecting to feel this way---"this way" meaning, objective and totally surprised that
I LIKED THE NEW MOON SCRIPT BETTER THAN THE MOVIE!!

Ok, so ive only read up until the scene where Edward is in her room looking at pics before the breakup scene...but STILL! I'm SHOCKED>
Cuz i am so Anti-MR and i cannot believe that i can now say i will be more objective. (Is that the right word? Maybe) I want to add that i was worried about NM since CW was first announced for it, and when i found out he did Golden Compass, i shuddered....
It is NOT ALL MR's fault..and i can state that as the truth and not feel bad about this revelation :P lol

Did anyone here read the NM script??? It is on YOUTUBE in 9 parts. I'm 1/2way done part 2. Any thoughts?? (I'll probably be hearing** crickets **soon, as this board is very quiet cuz everyone is tired-out from ranting for a week straight, haha ;P )

All the things that are missing from the Eclipse script, were actually IN the NM script:

Hand holding, face touching.....Edward was supposed to kiss Bella's face (her nose, her forehead) while explaining to her WHY "she's his only reason to stay alive"!!! And they had more lines too (which were cut to bare minimum in the movie. No wonder ppl dont know what they're saying and why :S)

omg! and the papercut scene was written closer to the book, and E was supposed to stand b/w Bella and the Cullens, too, like he does in the book (protective Edward, remember??? *sigh*)
And the truck scene has Bella calling herself a klutz, and self-loathing E getting upset about how "normal bf's wouldnt have flung u into a stack of plates....wouldnt have had to fight the urge to kill u..." Bella: I dont want normal, i want you. <---OME, why wasnt it in the movieeeeeee??????? *smh*
then they exchange the "as long as im human" and "that's the solution?" lines and he looks away all tormented. She reaches for his hand (!!!! gonna touch!!!) and gives the "how u feel about my soul" line and he pulls his hand away; it goes from there....and the next page was written SO MUCH better than what was actually shot in the movie. Oh, man, it hurts to think of what would've been if i had been behind that camera--AND if i were talented in any sort of movie-making way :P---cuz i wouldve done it differently....

I suggest anyone who's interested, go read it! I'm sure i could go on forever, seeing that i already did for only 2 parts of the script (not even!) out of total 9.
I'm so glad i'm reading it, cuz i see things more clearly now. AND i realize that i have a lot to fear when it comes to June 30th :\ Cuz if they cut out so much from the NM script in the final movie, then how can this disappointing Eclipse script turn out any better in movie form??
I really dont know what to think. Sure, scripts are adaptations and they are the "blueprint" for movies, but the written form is such a "rich" medium, it's full of description that allows the images to come to life in your mind. Noone sees it the same way, of course. But when u have the restrictions of 2 hrs 5 mins in visual form.....well, it does not bode well for this 3rd installment :(

But im sure Scummit is happy with the cashola$$$ they will see from those IMAX theatre showings---which was a brilliant idea on their part, i must give it to them...

I too have calm down since I've initially read the Eclipse Movie Script. I absolutely agree with you. I didn't like new moon the movie but when I read the script last year when it was leaked...I thought MR did a good job. However, when I saw the movie...I was so absolutely disappointed. I know that everyone seems to be waving the CW Flag...but I didn't think his direction was good for New Moon the movie. Of course, the special effect was better but that's because of the increased budget...but wardrobe, make-up, etc...to me didn't improve at all.

I agree, and im not sure who wouldve been better for NM, tho, director-wise. CW is a great guy and good director, but i'm not waving all my flags for him, lol I'm FAR too picky for that. I wonder if he is a better writer? Since he did "About a Boy" and it's quite acclaimed?

If i had read the script before NM, i wouldve been gutted as well!
I dont wanna know how i wouldve felt sitting there and seeing those scenes flash by me, as they went by SO FAST the 1st time i saw NM.
Now that ive read the Eclipse script, i will have that experience in July---knowing what was SUPPOSED to be on screen, and anticipating like crazy what they kept in and what they altered or added (leg hitch for all the fans? Gotta wait 5 months to find out....:[!) That's gonna be the craziest thing of all, seeing how much it's changed. Let's just say, im not hoping for much (never was) :P

Ahhhh...it was still dreamy. It lacked some of the romance of the book and the strong relationships, but the fact is that the screenplay was dreamy....the movie will be whatever they make it....and all of you will pay to see it many times so they know that they can do pretty much whatever they want. ;)

Whilst there are many things that I would have like to have seen, I can accept that the transferral from book to screen means some things have to go or be adapted. As long as the essence of the characters thoughts and intentions are there I would be happy. However, this is my main worry - that in the final scene the words that come out of Bella's mouth are just not hers and it does not embody her feelings for absolutely wanting to be with Edward above all else. I really really hope this is put right as whilst I undertand they want to show Bella gaining strength in character - this is not the way to do it. Otherwise I will walk out of the cinema feeling really flat......

I don't understand why the want Bella to gain strength. The strength Bella gets is because of the love of Edward. She feels stronger in the books only if it has something to do with Edward, because it something that he gives her. He spoils her in every way he can. He gives her whatever she wants the second she asks him to.
I don't understand why Bella in the movie must be stronger. Is this because Kristin is stronger and they have to adapt the script to her character....? Bowl...... She is an actor, she took the role, she just have to suck it up and play the character the right way.
And eventually Bella in Breaking Dawn bocomes much stronger.... a result from her transformation and the confedence she feels in herself for the first time in her life. It is something that every man would feel if he found his place in the world. Τhat is something they have to show. Not a stronger Bella, not a manipulative brat that cuts the b@@ls from the men that love her. How is this good?

The transformation in BD is not gonna have much significance in the "power and strength" and "feeling right in this world" aspects for that reason! MR's Bella does not have much of a leap to take from herself to vamp/newborn cuz she's already taking charge of EVERY situation in Eclipse like a freakin' pro...everyone looks like a chump next to her. Ugh.

Think of it. There is a boy with a girl that he loves, he is trying to protect her from what he thinks is very dangerous. He is also a little jelous, a little arrogand about his possessive and also a very noble man. But the girl goes away and jumps on the bike of the "dangarous" man and leaves without any guilt. She just leaves him behind.
Oh, that's good. That's very good. That is preciacly my reason at first to hate that script. They cut his B@@ls right from the first scene......

Seriously, why is it such a huge deal that Bella walks over to Jacob and says, "Can I go with you for a ride?" THEY ARE BEST FRIENDS!!! Sure, Edward will get jealous, but this is such a small part of the script, that its just not a big deal. And plus, it might be taken out of the final draft of the script, or even cut from the movie...you never know :P

In the book Edward makes everything to keep her away from Jake. He is the man he has to be so to protect her. It' s not about friendship. In the book Bella wants to go with Jake but she would never do something in front of Edward because this would make him suffer, he would be insulted and humiliated.
That very scene of the script is what we should never see. It is not why SM wrote Eclipse.
When Bella left from work to go and see Jake in La Push *alone* Edward was furius. He stood back in her room without being able to speak, pinching his nose in the same way he did when he wanted to kill the bad guys in Twilight and Bella is afraid of him.
In the script we don't get to see even that. Bella comes back from her little rebelion and everything is peachy. right.
And if you can't understand that, maybe I have to wait for you until you feel the same feelings Edward has, so you can get the explanation

I guess that your right in some ways. I'm sure (actually I'm positive) thay Edward would not allow any of that at all. But why should he be mad?I know he he thinks Jacob is dangerous, but Bella herself tells Edward to back off alittle. And in the books, and often in the movies, Edward always obeys her wish.

And things should be fine when she gets back. He knows that she loves him, and he understands that Jacob would never hurt Bella. But that still doesn't mean that Edward doesn't hate him. It just means that he loves Bella so much that he wants to make her happy.

I have to admit anyways that that scene was a little bit corny, but I don't think that it will have anny affect on the finished film.

Things were never fine after she got back from La Push in the book. She left all alone, so she pays, that is actually why Edward made Alice abduct Bella for two days. He would never listen to her and back off on that. But when Jake comes to school (when Edward is away hunting) and Bella leaves with him (as in the book) Edward understands that Bella would always find a way and eventually she would get hurt (bad luck, remember). So, that's WHY she lets her do what she wants, because in that way he can watch over her and protect her as much as he can.

In the tent scene from the book he gets to say that:
-"Yes, I am worried when she is all alone with you" (Jake) -
- "Yes, I am jelous", (Because Bella is with Jake in La Push where Edward can't see what is happening)
- "Yes, I am jelous about that too".(Because Bella leaves Edward and goes to spend time with Jake)
What is there to discuss?. He explains everything. That's why we have the tent scene. Go and read it again.....

Honestly, haven't you learned by now that they can't include EVERYTHING from the book?? It doesn't matter. Why is it such a big deal that she goes onto a bike with Jacob? I understand that things shouldn't be okay with them. But it doesn't ruin the movie just because they aren't angry at each other!

yeah but how do you know that the script is a fake huh? for all we know the script could be real though i really doubt by what ive heard it could be. i mean seriously SM wouldnt just let them make bella jump on jacobs bike with edward there. like bella chose edward over jacob not the other way around. ive now officially been trying to find the script for 3 days and i have no lead at all ughhhhh... so frustrating!!! :(

No, I don't know for sure that the script is fake.
I just suppose that it was a fake leak.
This script says that it is an early druft. If you read somewhere among the comments you ll see that a script like that costs a load of money. The last time someone found a script (from Newmoon) returned it to Summit. It doesn't make any sence someone to find a script from a major movie and instead of returning it (and take a big reward) he puts it on the web for nothing. Why should he do something like that?
And also if you watch closely the other two movies you ll see that they don't go far enough from the main story line to lose the meaning. I saw the movies before I find the books.
I was so much fascinated by them that I searced on the web and stumbled on the books.I read them all in a few days. Then I watched the movies with the books in my hands.

For the big fans ( yes I am too) it is very fustrating that they leave all the good details out. When I read the books I understood that there were much more to tell and I loved the way it is told. But I still like to watch the movies and I know by heart every minor or major detail they had left outside.
Rob and Kristen made a good effort to keep the characters unspoiled. The eyes, the movements are there. You just have to watch more carefully.
And who ever told that Rob was acting like a robot in Newmoon, then he never felt depressed. He never losed the meanning of his life. Because when you lose the first and only love of your existence by your fault it is exactly what you will feel. Nothing matters. There is nothing that is going to make you to want to breath or want to live. They even showed him in a dirty room with ripped clothes. His face was showing everything that there was to be told.

So, there isn't any reason to worry about. They will manage to keep the story as it is supposed to be told. I don't think they want to make as angry. Do they?
Don't try to find the script. The time I got my hands on it, I wished I never found it.
The only thing that it is good to see is the war action, where you get to see what Edward was seeing is his mind through Seth. MR managed to keep almost every reaction of Edward (in the war scenes) in the book exactly the same for Bella to see.
Everything else was just scenes to keep the script running without making an effort to be truthful to the story. I am very very sure that Meyer and the crew who love the book changed everything.
Maybe there isn't all the details in there we want to see. But I bet that we will see the strong love Bella has for him. And to speak my final words, this is a story of a vampire who fell in love with a human girl in bad luck, and he is determined to keep her safe and close to him despite every predicament. That is what they advertised, nothing more. Why would they change anything now?

U r so right, ed-isagentleman: If the script had been returned, the person wouldve gotten something in return (woman who handed in the NM script got to go to the LA premiere as her reward, but im not sure about any $$$. I doubt it's THAT valuable to them). But, ya, i believe that it was just Scummit who leaked it to see what kind of reaction they'd get out of us. And have us screaming in agony until we see the trailer and even more until June 30th. It's all a gameplan for the "suits". They know what they're doing . But we're on to them. We know what they're up to.......but as someone else said above^^^, ppl will still line up and spend their money and time supporting this saga out of love for the books and curiosity and for the actors we like and whatever else we do it all for :P


And it's good u r trying to keep positive about the rest of the movie(the "rest" meaning everything besides the fight scenes, cuz i suspect u already know they did those fine, knowing who the director is and what the actors trained 6 wks for :P). I'm calm, but not hopeful. Just waiting for the trailer at this point.......:) I think February will be our month for Eclipse teaser trailer madness to begin

As you very well put it above MR did a good job in NM script but Chris cut it down for the sake of "time".
This is a little frustrating though, cuz David isn't a script writer just a director. But again this might be good, if it turns that MR understood the book (I doubt it, It took me three times to read it, so I could get over Bellas stupidity) then she might make a good script, since this one is a script that never was adapted to play the movie. But to be more in the point of the story MR had more help for the NM from SM, and she said that she had a lot more help from SM for Eclipse and more time to write it down. So....
I can't manage to get so upset again.... I leave it alone.

i understand what u mean but put it this way.....the way that MR creates the movies is not at all what SM is trying to say in her books. her books are about love and compasion and i personaly think that when MR changes the meaning of the books into a boring movie everyone who hasnt read the books watches the movies and thinks ''gee this movie sucks!''. thats what breaks true fans hearts. its not the fact that it sucks its the fact that the true meaning of the books is miss interpreted and nobody likes it. thats all i have to say.........

She is consistently undermining his character and portraying him in bad light. Why does Jacob get all the quips? Edward is so funny and charming throughout TS and we don't get to see any of it.

I'm not craving the trailer or anything (really dont care at this point whether or not i see it before March) but i will check it out once it comes out regardless of how i feel about *above* and *below* :P

Hopefully....This script isn't the final. I don't think it is. It was released in mid July. If you remember at comic con (end of July), Robert mentioned the 'Eclipse' script in a question and how he has become argumentative about certain aspects of his character. Here is the question & response:

Question: Can you talk about why teenagers love vampires?

Pattinson: "I think we’re the worst people to ask about it. I don’t know, the problem is that when I looked at it I never looked at it as a vampire story, right from the beginning. When I try to play it I try to eliminate the vampire element as much as I can and just kind of see it as a tool to make their relationship a little more fraught. Right after the audition I found myself kind of bizarrely invested in the story and I hadn’t even read the books at that point. I’ve kind of gotten more and more attached to it. No wonder why there is so much criticism of Edward being a stalker etc....on the net..... the films just don't understand the perfection of the character.... so many left out.
I saw the two movies just 3 months ago and then I read the books. But I never expected to treat like that the third book. I read the script and I believe that it was a "made-to-happen-leak". This script is an entirely different movie that only used the main story line and the names. Nor the characters or the feeling are the same.
The scenes wasn't left out, they were altered.... really.... really you want me to believe that Edward and Jake almost started a fight outside Bellas house *after the kiss* and Charlie was in the middle of this touching both their bodies....? Would ever Edward allow her to go on a motorcycle with Jake just outside school? What... he is a moron now? Where is the protectiveness in that, the denial, the jealousness, the Hithcliff part..."I want to rip his heart out and drink his blood".... every single scene in that script is manufactured to give us a big headache...
Where is Edwart being angry as hell because she went to La Push, or when Jake said to Bella that he preffered her being dead than being a bloodsucker...? Now tell me.... was there anyway that Edward would let Bella run after Jake in the forest, just before the battle and just sit around the tent waiting for her? What is the point in this?
And don't let me started on the .... "I m not just choosing between just you and Jacob, Edward.... I 'm choosing between my normal life and who I should be". What? She want to be a vampire now because she is stumbling a lot? HaHaHaHa.... I thought the whole movie was that they couldn't nor wanted to be apart from each other.
No tears for Jacob after all.....Hah..... Just chose the man who would give her the life she wanted lighthearted and even giggles about the ceremony not even caring for anything else... she even wanted it.... where is Bella and what have you done with her.....? They screwed Edward (sucks) but this is an entirely different think.
It is good that they left the faint-parts out of the two first movies but to make her rebel and be strong enough to speak against Jane...? Maybe we should say that Edward has felt for another girl and even name her.... maybe Lisa....

So I strongly believe that Summit has purposely leaked -the 114 pages- so called eclipse script to make it a much more intriguing for us.... and who ever didn't read it I strongly recommend that you didn't. Not even a little glance at it... It is a blasphemy..... as Edward Cullen would say....!!!

uh hummmmm I have been saying since DAY one Melissa Rosenberg has ruined this saga, we can only hope in my lifetime somebody realizes the potential of telling this story and does a remake. It is sad the original actors can't be in it but I would forfeit that just to be able to see the story done some JUSTICE. Her FEW moments of decent writing do not impress me enough to go see Eclipse I will wait for the video. Sorry David Slade and crew I love you guys but I really wish i had not read the books first so I wouldn't be so pi___________ off about the writing in these scripts.

Over the course of three films MR has managed to change an amazing and intense love story into an extended episode of One Tree Hill!!

Edward is one of the most passionate, loving and romantic heros I've ever read about and she has totally transformed him into a pathetic side kick to Bella warrior princess.

I want to see him get angry! I want to see him threaten Jacob, hold Bella hostage in his room and love Bella the way he does in the book. I want to see his passion and yearning, his sweetness and see him take charge of the situation which he always does.

Aren't they the things we loved about him in the book? He has b@lls in the book but MR has totally removed them. That's cruelty to intensley hot vampires that is!

I want Edward to love Bella, and i want her to love him BACK, in the right way!

Does MR feel the need to vicariously live thru Bella and just make the character say and act the way MR feels is correct? That's the only way to explain these "changes" But for these changes, i see her for what she is: Some hardcore B@ll-buster!!!!!!

Eclipse scipt: cruelty to intensely hot vampires,

I just broke down and read the script.. I can't stop shaking my head. When you think things can't get any worse HAHAHA.. Edwarddisgentleman says it all.. I know Bella needed to be portrayed as a strong character but they lost the pure connection of Edward and Bella in New Moon (where was the bedroom scene and the proposal negotiation, what a joke). So many key scenes excluded.. Completely disappointed. Bella looks more bratty and out of control than a strong individual. I would write Stephanie if I thought that would change the outcome but unfortunately I know it won't.. Its too late for Eclipse.. As many of you know I have frequented this page and its sister pages in the past; but I don't want to waste my time on something that really won't give me the output that I'm obviously longing for. The passion that I felt when reading the books. The love, anguish, fustration and content that I received from the books won't be transformed. Such a pity that people that are watching the movies and haven't read the books will be watching this crap and looking at us loyal fans and think we clearly have no taste in reading.
It broke my heart and pissed me off when I read that Bella hopped on the bike in front of Edward... Umm this was the man that made a huge hole in her less than 6 months prior and now she's running off with Jacob.. umm. what? umm WHAT??? your kidding right. Where was the kidnapping scene with Alice in that script, where was the morning after the proposal scene between Alice and Bella. Pls. it wouldn't take that much time to set that scene up.. Maybe 5-10 minutes of dialogue at most. I'd stay and watch it..Hopefully Kristen and Rob will have some say in this and get it right. I have one thing to say to Stephanie.. Shame on you for allowing this to happen. Your obviously in it for the money and not the story. Wake up.. This is your story!!! You don't need the money, do the books (BD) justice.. I know you have creative say in story lines you have to see this as your readers already do.
I'm hoping that this is a rouse from Summit because there hasn't been alot of buzz about eclipse as of late. Bad news is better than no news. That's my hope anyways.

I need to add more...If so many of us are complaining about the tarnishing (my word) of Edward's essence. I have read from pg 70 on just now, to pg 76.
Besides Bella taking control in EVERY scene, getting HER way in EVERY scene, every exchange...(seriously, it's a theme. It's in my face every 2 pgs, i cant ignore it :S) Edward is made out to be a jealous punk.

E disses Jacob by calling his smell revolting. <===way to remind us the diff b/w wolves and vamps, i guess :S

It says Edward goes around Bella who got in his path to save Jacob and talked each other like .... never mind.... and there is a note where it says "the two guys could crush him but they back of".... that was for charlie.... nice.... Not only Edward doesn't give a deamn about Bellas hand (who isn't peased off at all with Jacob) but he endangares her father too. We know that Jacob is impulsive but.... Edward...? and where is his lines *she is mine*

A:Sort of. In the original screenplay, Jacob’s visit to Bella’s room that one night didn’t exist. The necessary information was still there, it was just scattered through a few other scenes. I really missed that scene, but change (and cutting!) is a part of the adaptation process—especially when you write really long books—so I was prepared to suck it up. And then Chris Weitz felt like we needed that scene, too, and he wrote up a beautiful version I love. And we all lived happily ever after.

Yeah there's another post about Chris Weitz I was reading where he said that the scene with Carlisle stiching up Bella's arm wasn't in an early script and he felt that it needed to be so he put it in. It gives me hope.

However CW has been a screenwriter for major films and so knows how to look at something from that perspective, DS has less experience in that field which slightly worries me. But I loike what you were saying about it being leaked to create 'buzz' alone.

And I was watching just now and interview to MR.... she said herself that she hand over the script of NewMoon to Chris Weitz to work on Eclipse. She had a better colaboration with Meyer, everybody from the crew had an opinion and ideas about the script and David kept sending back a lot to change until the script finished. She said that it wasn't something she did by herself, but everybody contributed to this work...
well, I say, let's just wait and see....

Today I am more convinced that this script is only bull....t.They want us to feel anxious. I trully believe that SM would never do that to Edward. He is her favourite character.... she even said that she is madly in love with him from day one....

I said it before and I ‘m saying again…. DON’T READ THE “SCRIPT”…. It won’t make anything better…. I read it and I wish I never did…. It surely didn’t make anything good to me, only a big headache.
I strongly believe that this isn’t “the script”. It has nothing to do with Eclipse.
The script from Twilight was made in a harry because of a strike.
The script from NewMoon wasn’t as it would be if RM had more the help of SM because they didn’t know each other so well. Finally it was handed over to Chris who listened to SM and he also believed that some scenes should be changed and he did himself. The bedroom scene with Jacob and Bella was never on the script of RM, but Chris wrote it. SM knows her story and wants to be told as it should
The script from Eclipse had better collaboration with SM, more time to write and rewrite, RM listened to the opinions of the crew who love the book of Eclipse. (That are the words from RM herself in and interview at comiccon).
Tyler (Jacob) said that his favourite scene from the book and also from the movie is the tent scene.
What can I say…. I am a sucker.

I bet that everything won't be pictured as miracly is written in the book, but they will eventually suffice. Because we are maybe saying that Edward wasn't so gentle and beloved to the two past movies as we all know him but eventually I don't believe that SM wants us to be so much dissapointed.

That's the feel it gave me too...

Edward is jealous but... *he isn't stupid to stick it on his forehead*, Bella never sees it.... Edward is the one who explains.... Edward is the one in control of every situation.... calling the shots.... never leaving Bella out of his sight.... He is a multi-dimensional character because he feels emotion the strongest of all, feels emotions for the first time but controls himself never to show them.
He confronted Jake for the unwilling kiss but never had in mind to hurt him bcuz *.....Bella would mind in the morning.....*
He was furious about Bella's theory that Victoria was behind the Vampire army.... I flied over the script to find the scene and again I thought I was reading another story.... nothing.....no furious....
Bella' s idea to cover her smell?..... come on. She would never had any clue about the smells if they didn't tell her....
Every line they put into Edward's mouth in that script is a joke.... Don't feel sorry... because you are right on the target.
Eclipse in my favorite book, because we see a more human Edward who struggles with his emotions and his unbearable love for that very human girl.
In the first two books we saw Edward the vampire feeling the love for the first time, the struggle to be away from the center of his existence, his sorrow for not being able to protect her from what he is... and the movies show enough for all the people to understand this.
But Eclipse is a totally different thing. He feels more human.... he has emotion he never thought he would have and again manages to control himself. That's the point of the tent scene. Anyone who didn't understand him in the first chapters gets to see what is on Edward's mind. But “the tend scene” in the script was written just to say a few catchy lines... He just sat there talked to his buddy *jacob* and then left his girlfriend go and make out with him...... Bella never got to say …..Jacob get out of here.... what? she wanted Jacob to hold her while Edward was sitting right next to her? Edward never got to push him away in the morning? Why?... And the thing he says about his best nights of his life just for Jacob to hear he is marrying Bella?.... very very very bad written…. Is the least I can say.
In the book he even felt sorry and went to bring Jacob back. He even said to Bella that he is going to step aside and have any pιece of him she wants. Bella has to try to win him, to tell him that he is the one for her and never dare to quite….. But there was nothing in that script… even for that part …nothing

did you also notice that bella made the truce between the werewolves and vampires. It was her idea for jacob to come to her place and catch the scent of riley. then she tells them to coordinate their schedule. When Jacob and edward did not respond she asked jacob if he wanted nights and then asked Edward if days worked for his family. I laughed so hard. bella` clumsy stumbling bella coordinating a truce... give me a break MR. Yes bella is strong and assertive in certain situations like when she puts her foot down everytime edward wants to put off her becoming a vampire or when she made her own conditions for marriage and was not going to back down. Bella knows what she wants and goes after it. But in what universe will bella take charge like that. MR really lost it. Bella confronting jane???. Then she stands with the cullens even if she has to die trying to defend edward or some such nonsence. Hello!!!! These are vampires. What can bella do to defend Edward against vampires. This is not some high school fight. The only thing that was needed was for MR to have Bella train the cullens and werewolves to fight the newborns. Then i would have taken my head and smatched it in the computer. lol..She just took our beloved chracters and changed them. She makes Edward come across as being petty for not wanting to work with jacob. that is what set edward apart he did not care if jacob was his mortal enemy when it came to protecting bella he was more than willing to put his differences to the side.Even jacob is willing to work with Edward. Why can t she let the characters be themselves.

Edward would do anything and EVERYTHING for Bella, no matter the pain it caused him. True sacrifice. ANd B needs and wants him in a way noone else could. She sacrifices everything too (after she hurts him w/ Jacob, but that gets fixed in the end). But in this script?
It's like she could care less leaving him behind, pushing him aside, to go to Jacob. AND IN such a RUDE fashion, it cant be explained. NOONE could convince me how it's even a quarter-decent to write her in such a way. (unless u want to piss fans off, which is obviously a side effect of MR's oblivion) :S

It's wrong. Period. As someone else pointed out, true Bella never wanted to leave his side, and was always watching him, standing by him, having his back. He had his arm wrapped around her waist or was holding her hand most of the time.. Let's not even talk about her being dazzled or fixated on him most of the time :P

Starting in Volterra (NM--yes, i'm going back to NM cuz i cant handle how crazy the ending was, so i need to rehash it some more. Sorry if that bugs anyone :P), E shouldve been kissing her all over. B was supposed to hug him and stay in his lap curled up, breaking down and crying ....he kissed and comforted her until they were back in her room in Forks...
she couldnt be w/o him after that...i still remember the J/E confrontation in the forest, when he says "i wont leave her side unless she orders me away"
and Bella is looking up at him the whole time, and at that moment she cannot fathom being apart , and whispers "Never".
(that line gets me everytime. THAT is Bella. Right there. One of the many reasons why we understand who she is and what she wants. Remember the line "and i had my destiny by my side"?? That sums it up for me)

When SM wrote Bella and Edwards love story she was not writing another high school romance. Bella and Edward's love is true love it goes beyond the norm of what exists in our world even in hers. I cant even define what they feel for each other it is something so strong like bella said "Irrational" that is what sets them apart from all other love stories. Even imprinting is not this strong, in my opinion anyway.

MR took this beautiful love story and turned it into a high school romance. But yes that scene in the book where she tells jacob "Never" i love it. that is what should have been in the movies. Not that ridiculous scene where she tells Jacob "I love you". She could leave the part where bella tells jacob not to make her choose because it will always be "him." Seriously i did laugh when bella coordinated that truce and asked jacob if nights or day were good for him. Im laughing now. This is bella we are talking about who trips on flat surfaces when she's not tripping on her own two feet. Don t put a raquet in her hand because it becomes a weapon if you're near her. Now all of a sudden she takes over and becomes the mastermind. RIDICULOUS.

Oh, Bella and Edward's romance...it transcends all and everything...and it is obviously too much for MR to understand, cuz MR has diluted and mangled this story....i know :(
And, yes, the "never" line --and its INTENSITY---should have been there in NM, absolutely. (Was so sad when it wasnt)

It actually breaks my heart because when you're reading the books you feel every word, every emotion. When I was reading it I was in a constant state of disbelief over how amazing Edward's character was, so selfless, sweet and passionate. He would rather suffer himself that hurt Bella, unlike Jacob's character, and therefore hide his own hurt and pain, not show it.

You fall in love with him yourself because of how much he loves Bella and the books let you see how much through the way he behaves and reacts, but the movies don't do that at all. They keep him at a distance. You don't feel a connnection with him and therefore you don't understand Bella's connection, especially in this script.

If I didn't read the books and just watched the movies I'd be thinking 'why doesn't she just go off with the other guy, they have more of a connection'. And that is SO WRONG!!!

As I said before, it breaks my heart!

Did you notice the complete role reversal with Jacob and Edward.. Jacob is suppose to be contrast of "good Jacob vs. bad Jacob (Bella's "My Jacob"). It makes him look completely normal. He's suppose to be unbalanced. The wolf gene just kicked in; its a chemical unbalance that he needs to get use to.
I'm embarassed because at this point so many people who know me know that I'm an avid reader that has just dabbled in this "kind" of book genre. I'm not a big romance novel reader.. But I have campaigned relatives/friends to read her novels just to watch it fall apart on the big screen. I'm really feel sorry for Rob if this is the "Edward" that he has to portray. All of the main cast have read the books and were as passionate about them as we are. Can you imagine what there going through having to say this crap?!

Completely, he is continually lashing out at Bella in the book and saying hurtful things because of his confusion, but instead of dealing with that potentailly interesting storyline they are just making him 'normal as you say.

I know what you mean about the books. It's an unexplainable thing and I totally didn't see it coming. Bought Twilight one day on a whim and thought I would hate it and then I got completely emersed in it! Took over my life haha. Then I had to get all my friends to read it because I was going on and on about it and about Edward and they'd thought I'd gone mad!

I always try and get my friends to read the books first before they watch the moviesotherwise they are not going to understand the obsession.

And where is my guy who looks like he is in complete control. The gentleman that we fall in love with. He's been a vampire for over 100 years, he has himself in check and has alot of history to draw back on for every decision he makes. He is suppose to be brilliant. The prodical son of Carlisle's.. Aro would not see the brilliance, the control the demeanor of Carlisle's in this Edward that MR is portraying.. I'm embarassed to be so madly in love with these books, these characters, this author.. Where did she go??? She fought to get creative input in her contract but where is that input now??? Such a waste.. I'm really going to miss the part in the book where he comes back from hunting with his brothers and she is in his room.. That whole scene... I've read that part about 10 times.. Its so inoccent but yet you see the passion, love, the desire and yet the control in Edward. This is the part where she now believes it may be possible to make love with this man.. I LOVE that part.. What the heck. I'm so disappointed. I really am... I'm hoping that the day that they had filming with DS in the closed set included this as well..
I think everyone here is saying the same thing just differently.. Every part of the books shouldn't be rushed and brushed over. The mean something important to the story and the characters. We got to know our Edward, Bella, Jacob, Carlisle, Charlie, The wolf pack and the Cullens by each of those parts. To eliminate any part of it is doing it an injustice. No one will get the essence of each character or the families tie if they don't include the points.

I'm in agreement with every single word. Edward has no reason to be immature as you say he has had over 100 hears to learn and mature as a man and never reacts without thinking it through. That's the whole contrast between him and Jacob, they are opposites in every way. Fire and Ice.

And the Cullens? Who are they? If you haven't read the books you'll have no idea. Two films have passed and we hardly know them, especially Carlisle, the figurehead of the family, with such an interesting backstory.

That scene you described from Eclipse is one of my fav ones to. So lovely. I had to read it so many times because you're feeling the same emotional connection with them. As you say, hopefully DS will have had more imput into what is to be included or altered. We have to hope I suppose!

BillyBlackAttack.. I want to thank you for letting me spout off. Lets just call this very therapudic. It has restored in me that its not the sites fault.. My fustrations lie with the individuals that deserve them (cough cough Stephenie and MR cough).
I think I'm with you... I'm going to go and read my books.. Hopefully DS will add a couple of scenes that were not in the script and we won't be completely disappointed. And stick to sites like this to help smooth out the rough patches :)..

OMG the tent scene.. I forgot about how bad the top 10 best nights of Edwards were written in the script. I couldn't believe my eyes. That was such a wonderful part in the book between Edward and Bella.. I loved the intimacy.. But MR writing how Bella runs into the forest to get Jacob..please. such crap. such an embarassment.

The tent scene aka one of my favourite chapters in the book. Why did MR mess with that?!!

How easy can SM make it for her? A perfect scene with all three of the players together and all the best dramatic elements included. An insight into Edward's thoughts and feelings, a face off between E and J over the woman they love, and she still manages to screw it up!

Every potential intimate moment is destroyed. Makes me want to cry!

I think I am going to get a lot of criticism for this but I love MR's adaptations. If the Eclipse leak is genuine then I love that the third wife role that Bella takes on in the book isn't spoiled by Edward saying that it got in the way! I hated the perspective that SM created there.. that Bella was a fool eurgh. I love the books but I think MR has bought SM's work to life, she gets the teenage vernacular much more than SM. When I read twilight and the accompany books I tend to read them in light of how MR would adapt it to screen.. it bounces more on the screen. I'm sad that MR cannot incorporate everything though. I love the world of twilight be it book or screen. I just wish SM would finish MS.. if she loves her fans then why is she hurting us :( LOVE YOU SM!

This has been bugging me. On the official Twilight Saga website when you click to go into the Cullens house you hear a soundbite of Edward saying 'Every second I'm with you is about restraint'. Now where the heck was that in NM?? And I wonder if it was maybe taken from a deleted scene and if so will we get to see it do you think??

It's so frustrating because when I first heard it before NM came out I thought that we would be getting more about B/E and their struggles with their attraction to each other, but no. I don't know about anyone else but I would have loved to have seen rob looking all intense at Kirsten and saying that!

Then I was holding out for eclipse to deal with those issues but obviously that's not happening either. Where's the electricty?? It's not translating at all on SCREEEEEEENNN!!! ahhhhhh!!!

(And her finding all the gifts gone after [remember "it will be like i never existed"? and Bella falling to her knees and then on her face and she basically just blacks out?] so intense and crippling...)
....And Edward lifts Bella up w/ one arm and sets the quilt over her w/ the other...then spoons her.....oh wowza. And E is always waiting for B after she comes back from the bathroom...Oh man...such memorable moments <3

Then he starts whispering all Romeo's lines in her ear! Had to go and lie down after that.

And she drives there by herself! It's like MR is deliberetley trying to make their relationship really cold and distant. How many intimate scenes did we get in NM with Jacob and Bella?? Their conversation at the movies, at his house, in her room, in the car!!! Can we have at least one real boyfriend/girlfriend moment with B/E pleeeeeeeease!!!

One kitchen counter kiss, just ONE!!! You haven't lost it, I'm right there with you. Eclipse is an ocean of smoulder that many of us would happily drown in and MR's making us do the doggy paddle!!!

She is consistently undermining his character and portraying him in bad light. Why does Jacob get all the quips? Edward is so funny and charming throughout TS and we don't get to see any of it.

She just makes him stand around alot looking like he's eaten some bad shell fish and say the odd line. Also by the end of NM Edward is way more comfortable with kissing and touching Bella, they are closer as a couple, more in tune...

E: "For this one night, could we try to forget everything besides just you and me? It seems like I can never get enough time like that. I need to be with you. Just you."

I love alice so much, she is so lovely to them all the time, and so happy about the wedding, and none of that is going to be on the movie, aparently... it's sad...

I'm addicted too! Can't stop!!!! But you're so right! There are so many wasted scene's (not nearly to the same degree as Twilight though) that would have been time much better spent.

Why would we want to see E & B looking like extra's from Dr Quinn Medicine Woman when we could be seeing some passion between them. Lets be honest any woman in her right mind would be trying their luck with Edward but what about showing his feelings for her and some of the humour and friendship in their relationship - I think i'm getting off the point here!

Alice is a brilliant character and Ashley is perfect at the part - it's such a waste to miss her out. They're making these films all action and no relationships when that's what the whole story is about.

I thought the EXACT same thing...Id heard the "restraint" line is fan vids on utube, and was like, Ohhhhhh that is such an intense line! Then, of course, NADA in the movie.
Just the "u dont belong in my world bella". I wonder what else they cut out from that breakup scene, redoing it however many times they did? And i think we can only hope for the deleted scenes on the dvd...the "after italy" Charlie/B/E scene is gonna be a deleted one too. We'll see what CW did with that...and what MR DIDNT do w/ it.....
The only thing in the eclipse script is, re: after bella asks for se*x, E says something like "when you're not so breakable". But really, have we even been shown how fragile (physically) Bella is compared to vamps anyway?? That's never been really been shown or developed.
AND i was just thinking about it cuz i just reread eclipse (3rd time) and it reminds me how Bella's mind-block against Edwards mind reading is a major theme in the books, but seems to be lost in the movies....esp when u read how intense Edward is on Bella waiting for her to speak her demands/prereq's on the bed...he's waiting oh so patiently but then u know how difficult it can be on him when he says "Please Bella. BEFORE i go mad??" <====omy, i luv seeing smoldering Edward in my mind :P~~

Totally, as you say where is the smouldering?? Its what Edward does best and the only reason that there is a tiny bit of it in the movies so far is because Rpatz generally just smoulders as himself! But it ain't in the script damn it.

Edward is a smoulder machine in Eclipse!! That's one of the reasons it's my favourite book. I want to see it! When you're lucky enough to have someone as perfectly suited as Rob playing Edward you should be draining every last drop of smoulder you can get out of him, he has so much of it to give and there's so many scenes in Eclipse to use for that!

I'm getting serious smoulder deficiency here!!

Also totally agree about the vampire element. It's not evident enough. When you see Edward in New Moon in Italy you can see that he has dark rings under his eyes and you know that's because he hasn't fed, sorry I should say you know if you've read the books, because MR doesn't ever refer to it in the movies!!!! People are just left to wonder what he's been at, maybe he was out the night before with the Volturi boys on a booze up and he has a hangover??

She needs to make more references to the fact that the Cullens are vampires aka the hunting as you said!

RPattz is a Smoulder-er. NOONE can do that penetrating Edward-gaze like he could in the Bio scene and restaurant scene (ESP restaurant scene!) in Twi like he can. OME how can i forget what caught my eye (sry for the pun :P) in TL more than anything was the epic van crash/saving scene. That intensity could combust u thru the screen---and gladly :D (what a memorable scene!)

Love the fact that you two are reading my mind. There is so so much more they could have done to make these films amazing. I know people are saying that a film can never match a book and that's okay, we know that but when they've cast the characters so perfectly (in my opinion) that it's so disappointing not to see the scene's we love brought to life. There are so many lines in the book that Rob would make totally amazing given half the chance.

its simple...MR can't do romance. Like she sounds like a man for god sakes and doesnt seem like a very romantic person.

Like there is absolutely no romance in dexter so shes really only use to drama, suspense, action. Not sure if u saw the season finale, but she totally helped kill the dexter/rita romance by killing off rita. In a perfect world, MR would complement SM's writing...there are holes in SMs books that MR will fill in sometimes and MR will make the plot more interesting at times, but then she will leave out all of the cute moments that SM wrote in....MR should really keep all SMs cute moments and add in her own input and by god we might have had some amazing films.

If you read the script, she did the action great and the opening scene seems very dramatic and intense which i really liked. But then she gets way too caught up in her love triangle fascination...like would bella honestly jump on jakes bike right in front of edward...i think not. She always has to make bella forgive jake fast cuz we cant make jake look like a bad guy for too long cuz that would just be too true to the book for her to deal with or something (she always has to change up jakes annoying and mean moments).

And yeah she has some cute edward moments and the proposal is great...but out of 629 pages of eclipse with over 100 cute edward/bella moments, i think she picks out like 3. With all the scripts, i just get the notion that she is so against romance and she can never just give us the true bella/edward love.

Like in twilight, she gave us love as edward staring at bella all the time and being all serious and didnt include many normal, cute moments that he had. In new moon, also she mad him so freakin serious and depressing and totally left out his cute, loving side. And i know i havent seen eclipse yet and the script does seem to make edward a little happier, but still she needed more romance in the eclipse script and she needed more cute moments with alice and bella.

I know everyone wants to talk about the big 3, but ashley greene was so good as alice in new moon that MR really should have put in all the cute alice/bella moments in eclipse.

I also wouldve liked to see that Alice/Bella relationship alive on screen....Alice is such a pivotal part in Eclipse, and Alicella (sry, i just made that up)are supposed to be almost like sisters.

I just never expect movies to be like the books. i take what i get while mentaly adding what has been left out. after seeing Twilight and NM what disappointed me is how the story was presented out of order, and I didn't really care for the added scenes.

I totally agree about the different treatment of Jacob and Edward. Although a lot was missing from New Moon I really feel that they did a good job of developing the relationship between Jacob and Bella in the limited time that they had on screen. You understood why they were so close and why they cared about each other by the end of the film.

But in twilight MR totally cut out everything that makes Edward who is is, where were all the playfull interations between Bella and Edward??There were SO many in the book to choose from, she could have at least put one in!!! There was zero development, they had about three converstaions and then they were in love! WTF?? She totally took away all of the humour and fun out of Bella and edwards everyday relationship and potrayed it as 'dreary'. The most exciting thing they did was 'Hold on tight spider monkey'! Ugh, Thanks for that MR!!!

The blood sampling scene, which, I'm sorry, I thought was really important, should have been in the film because that's when you first really get a sense that Edward is starting to care for her. She turned the meadow scene, the entire turning point in their relationship into a 3 minute piece of crap, it was a joke. By the end of the film you're like 'sorry why do these people love each other so much??'

I could literally go on and on about all the really important things she left out of their relationship so far but I would be left like a skeleton at my computer!!

You try to be positive and you don't want to feel like your ranting but god, it's just so frustrating and now this Eclipse thing has sent me over the edge! MR has such rich, full characters to work and in my opinon Edward is the most interesting character. She has it all there in front of her to choose from, like a buffet of amazing food and she makes an effing salad sandwich out of it!

I did really like NM for the most part in it's own right (semi naked R-Patz & Taylor added to the charm) but I TOTALLY agree about B & E. I liked the way they showed Bella & Jake's realtionship but yet again failed miserably with B & E. MR must have had her Team Jacob poster in full view when she was writing this one. Surely the part before he left was the perfect time to show some real passion in their relationship,not to mention.........OMG - so much ranting - so little time!!!!!!!!!!

Before you gals decide that you want to fire someone, it is essential to learn about the movie business. MR (Melissa Rosenger) is just a screenwriter. Melissa gets guidance from Stephenie Meyer. Stephenie has to approve the script. The producers have the final say. They are the ones that make the decisions about what goes in the movie or not. The script is used to establish a budget. Any special effects and what not expenses need to be planned based on the script. If you want to (as if you could) fire someone, you should fire the producers. If this happens, Breaking Dawn won't get made.

Be happy with what you get from the Twilight books and from everyday life. If don't like it, go to Film school and become Directors and Producers. The film industry (and all other industries as well) is man dominated.

It would be nice to be able to change it up after Eclipse and give BD to someone else....but really, how do we know what another Prod. Co. would do w/ the last book?
Besides, that's a moot point anyway, since they got the rights to all 4 books a while ago.

Don't think I said that she should be fired, just that she's crap at adapting the books onto the screen, which she quite evidently is.

Not sure I agree with you on how much control SM has over the script after she's sold the rights. She's there to be consulted but MR can do pretty much whatever she wants within reason and has proved that time and time again much to everyones annoyance.

As you say the producers have the final say, so if the final scripts of 'Twilight' and 'New Moon' are anything to go by, imagine how bad the scripts were before any suggested changes by SM or the producers!

At the end of the day Melissa Rosenberg is paid to do a job and do it well, it's her area of expertise and she shouldn't have to rely on SM or the producers to do her job for her. If the script is bad and characters or plot have been altered in the wrong way, then I don't blame producers, directors or cast, I blame the screenwriter.

If 'Twilight' the book was crap and had poor dialogue and characters, would you blame the publishers or would you blame the author??

It all boils down to what you want from a film. It's very personal. Some people prefer more action or special effects. I would prefer to see less of those elements and more time spent on character development because If you don't know the characters then you don't care about them or understand them.

But at least we have the books to remind us!! :)

"Just a screenwriter"? She is the professional, making a script, bringing to SM for approval. Who's to say what goes on in that conversation. Perhaps SM doesn't agree with a lot of it, but these are movie producers and screen writers telling her this is how it should be. But I do think SM is somewhat at fault if she approved this stuff, though MR isn't that great with the lines in the movie. We have to remember that Stephenie Meyer is new to all this. These were the first books she has ever written and now turned into movies! She probably feels that these people ARE the professionals in this business and has probably approved things just for that reason. Though who really knows.

BD can still get made, unless Stephanie has finally sold the right to Summit.

O.M.G, everything you mentioned in your other post, the convo's in the car, the walking her to class and stroking her face, the 'Be safe' note!!!! Everything you mentioned are the exact same things I think should have been in the film.

The annoying thing is that they are all really small things which would have taken up little screen time but they would have made such an impact in the film and you would have got more of the sweetness of B and E's budding romance.

hmm finally read the script....it seems to move quite fast with minimal attention to the emotional detail that lies within the book.
Unfortunately I cringed in NM when Bella and Edward run through the woods together both as vampires and the script for Eclipse makes room for a few more scenes like this however they may play out to be completely different.
I just hope there are a few more heart-felt scenes in the final product.

fave scene of NM was definitly when Edward leads Bella into the woods and tells her hes leaving. Theres some kind of honesty about it that I love and want to see more of.

Just because Summit took a chance on this franchise, doesn't give them the right to tell a different story. I'm okay with artistic changes, but many of the changes have drastically altered the essence, the plot and the characters to the point where there's now an identity crisis. Is this a love story or an action movie? Why does Bella chose Edward? Why is she so devastated by his absence? Why can't Edward live without her? For people that haven't read the books, these questions were not answered in the NM movie and after reading the Eclipse script, I'm afraid the questions still have not been answered. The moments between E/B in that book are so critical to understanding story and are why we love the saga. So, I think the fate of this franchise has been sealed with the choice in directors and the scripts. To say that I'm disappointed is an understatement.

AND, Eclipse is NOT all about the fighting, but rather, it slowly builds up to it at the end of the book. As a matter of fact, most of the action is not even highlighted in the book. The ONLY fight that we are given a firsthand account of is when Edward and Seth kill Victoria and Riley to SAVE Bella. So, AGAIN, I'm okay with changes, but when those changes profoundly alter the foundation of the story, then change the title and don't call it the Twilight Saga. I know that the movie has been filmed, so it's a moot point. Shame on SM for letting them change her story and words to this degree. For all her talk about telling a different vampire story, it turns out that it was just talk. So, there is cause for concern because this is not the movie the book fans have been waiting, hoping to see. Trust me, you will be more disappointed than with you were with NM; we were willing to tolerate less Edward because that's the story, but not in Eclipse. And before you glass half full people jump in and say it will work out, let me stop you now. The ship sailed on this franchise when SM failed to protect her vision like JKR did with Harry Potter.

I totally agree with you. I saw a few comments regarding movies are not like the books...I completely understand that movies adaptation of books are not like the books. However, I feel that it's important to keep the essence of the characters regardless of how things are changed. For me, although Twilight the movie was not exactly like the book...the essence of the characters were the same as the book or changed for the better (I think Bella is a little stronger). I feel that New Moon the movie and the Eclipse the movie has changed the essence of the some of the main characters for the worse (Bella and Edward) and the storyline (Bella becomes a vampire because she feels she belongs in that world is all wrong in the script...she wants to because she wants to be with Edward forever/eternity). She changing this completely change the theme of the books for me. I agree with a few comments that the Eclipse script is not that bad. Like I said before, RM did a great job with Jacob, the back stories, and a few of the dialogue between E/B and E/B/J. My only concern is that changes or rewording most of the dialogue and actions between E/B and E/B/J did not keep same meaning as in the book...it changes the story and the essence of the characters. I am crossing my fingers that Rob and Kristen will make better the materials that where given to them with their acting skills.=P

I have been thinking about SM and what she *hasnt* done for her adaptation since i realized there was no true "meadow scene" in twilight...and ESP. when , in NM, Edward says "I'm 109 !" [yrs old}...I couldnt believe HOW SM could have let MR get away with MESSING UP E's AGE! I mean, he's 108...this may be *small* but it's actually a HUGE thing in my eyes, cuz it just shows.....a disregard? I totally agree she has failed to protect her vision and it just doesnt sit well with me. She knows her characters better than anyone, how could she not correct even the slightest of infractions?

In summary...What Most of the fans try to say here is that whatever the scenes and Dialogs MR and David have decided to use THEY CANT Mess with the Nature of the Charactors and the emortional aspect of the story.

Yes we love some scens and some dialogs...because they explain the charactors and the tell the story for us. Yes we know that we cant have these scenes and conversations exactly the same as in the book...But the end of the film I want to feel fulfilled and complete and satisfied....Thats why dialogs and scenes are important....


The message is simple...What we miss in these films is that true nature of E/B relationship..... they have paid enough attention to bring other aspects right and in doing so they have completely fogotten that This is their story....

We dont love Edward because he is SOO sexy or Jacob because of the fights or abs.

We love them because of their Love, Friendship and passion. We are not fans with cheep taste. We see these charactors beyond their physical appearance.

My line is no matter how stressed or upset I get about all this, the movie will be what it is regardless if I cry every time I read something that is out of line with what I think it should be (like Bella going on bike with Jake infront of Edward - HUH??? I can't find out ANY INFO on her website, and Im kinda new to the twilight phenomenum, so I missed all the riot about how that book got leaked etc, but I REALLY want her to do it, so if anyone has any info on that it would be really good. (I know there is 12 chapters floating in cyber space out there somewhere, but just want to know if she'll ever do it?)

It doesn't really look as if she will. She stopped writing it "indefinately". Everytime she was in an interveiw and they asked her about it she said she "needed a break from vampires" and "didnt have any ideas for it" and "wanted people to forget about it". i Really hope she finishes it, cuz it would hardly be fair if she doesnt. Actually i think the most likely outcome is that she starts writing it again in the next year or two, maybe when the movies r done? idk.

I have not read the script, but I've read enough here to feel that MR is ADDING/TAKING AWAY parts of the story so that they can make two more movies. If this movie ends up being much like this script, then I'm left with a feeling of complete disruption of Edward and Bella's relationship at the end of the movie Eclipse. There's NO WAY they will be ready to get married in the next movie, even if he gets the ring on her finger in this movie. I won't buy it and I doubt anyone else who has read the books and loves the characters will buy it either.

All that being said, I really truly want to be excited for this movie to come out. I want it to be successful for the sake of the cast and crew who put so much work into it. It just feels like its going to be empty. Like the end of New Moon felt empty to me. There was so much missing between E/B.

The only way to get the characters back to what Stephenie Meyer invisioned (and GAVE US) and prepare the audence for what happens to them in BD is to have another movie in between Eclipse and BD that fills in the missing parts of the growth of their relationship.

Sorry, I'm babbling cause it makes me kinda sad.

I wanted to be excited too. I mean, im sure ill calm down about this eventually, but i will never be impressed. It's impossible given what's happened to these scripts (see my other rants, lol)
You're right about the end of NM...."empty"...I didnt care about the shock value (that was obviously mainly CW's idea and more for ante-ing up the "anticipation factor for the 3rd movie" for fans and the shock for everyone else)
The emptiness bcuz so much from e/b relationship is missing. It just seems too shallow a lot of the time...and u dont comprehend what they say cuz the dialogue is so bunged up and if there is an absence of true passion and adoration and love, why SHOULD anyone understand why these 2 NEED to be together? (esp when J and B are strung together whenever possible thanx to MR :\ :\).
We fans ---well, not everyone, but a majority, i believe---are frustrated the way things have unfolded in the movies (even when we do appreciate the fact that at least there ARE movies for us to "enjoy", i do not discredit them that!)...and this Eclipse script has us crying out in exasperation again! and pure torture :P :{

Totally agree! It's the story of Bella and Edward's relationship, everything else is a sub plot and should be secondary to that. But everything else seems to be taking precedence over it in the movies.

On a positive note though, Rob and Kirsten have managed both in Twilight and New Moon to overcome the lack of depth in the script and turn in top quality performances. Chances are they will do the same in Eclipse and save the day. I have faith in them! :)

Well...This whole mess of 1147+? comments reminds me of when HP3 came out and everyone freaked out on the HP forums about how Harry Potter wasn't cute anymore because the movie got all dark and what the heck had Cuaron done to our cute li'l wizard and how different the whole Potter-verse looked with the new director...well you get the point.
Or maybe I should say it anyway...Summit said each movie would have a different feel because of the different directors. (Sorry, I don't remember which interview that was from, so that isn't a direct quote). Many times, I've read books and seen their movie adaptations and wondered "WTeff?" (HP is a PERFECT example) But you have to understand that the 2 mediums (paper & ink/film) are going to have to be interpreted in different ways by us. We read the words and our brains make the pics in our heads--we visualize the events and it's a VERY INTIMATE EXPERIENCE for each reader. In the movie theater, we sit and watch someone ELSE'S "visualizations" of the same words we read, and it becomes a PASSIVE EXPERIENCE for us, now the "viewer." Even when you go to discussion forums on the Twilight books, people have extremely different visualizations of what you both have read--haven't you ever wondered if that person had read the same book as you? lol.
So, I hate to say this, but we have to wait for what is going to be on that movie screen before we jump to conclusions as to the end result. And David Slade DOES have the final say in what he directs, so he doesn't strike me as the kind of guy to direct cr@p just because it "says" in the script to do it that way. I am trusting his professional experience, and look forward to the first Trailer.
I hope this fuss settles down and folks realize there are MANY changes that happen from book to script to screen, and they can happen quickly--even during the scene shoot.

But the 1147 comments are exactly that what you said in your comment: a way to express how much we disagree with the visualizations of someone else!!! AND WE ALL KNOW WHO THAT SOMEONE ELSE IS!!!!

One book/movie adaptation who worked out spot on was "Bright lights, Big City" Now I know not all book/movie adaptations can be one on one but why did they have to sell Edward's character and Edward and Bella's relationship so short...just to put more action and Riley in it...that's just sooo off...

You're right about every movie will have a diff feel, that is inevitable. And ok, we've come to accept that for the most part. And, absolutely, those images in our mind while reading the books will be diff for each person (intimate experience).
But the fuss is there BCUZ of the intimacy with the books (lol that sounds funny) and the characters and the relationships bw them. Once that's messed with, WHOSE story is it?
Since SM didnt put her foot down when MR started misinterpreting characters (esp E and B) and garbling them cuz she doesnt seem to understand and doesnt ask for help, bad things happen. Edward's been turned into someone i dont really recognize a lot of the time. Bella has been turned into a hardcore b*(*(h in the eclipse script(please Kristen and Rob, try to fix it to the best of your ability?) and i cringed most of the time reading it. The only times i didnt cringe or furrow my brow was in the fight scenes.
I am interested to see what DS does, too. WHERE he takes these scenes i yelled at (ya i kinda yelled quietly at the comp. screen while reading the script. It was too outrageous not to). ANd how R and K and T wrap themselves around the sometimes-mostly cringe worthy dialogue and the muted and mangled e/b interactions.

I am becoming somewhat peaceful about it, but positive ? Well, hopefully the fight scenes come out as cool as they are written, the Cullens rock every scene they're in (none of their scenes better be cut!) and Rob keeps the cliche~ness out of that proposal scene. Everything else? Mmmm........

You're right, everyone visualises things differently and MR can interpret a scene whatever way she wants as a scriptwriter, that's fine, but you can't mess with the characters when you are adapting a book, bottom line. You shouldn't make them do things that they wouldn't normally do, or erase important scenes to accomodate irrelevant ones like she has done SOOOO many times in the past.

I have zero faith that she will have improved on the script but like you said all we can do is hope that DS and the actors will have the creative freedom to ignore the crap and interpret the story as it should be.

The Eclipse trailer will tell the tale I guess and I still can't wait to see it. Hopefully soon!!!! I'm trying here :)

im wondering if summit is waiting for remember to come out before they release the trailer...that would technically be a good marketing move. But im very impatient like u, i want it NOW.

i'm praying to all gods that they haven't released it yet because they are thinking about changes on the film, but i know it's just my heart trying to be happy about this movie again...

oooooo, you're so right. Summit will market Remember Me first since it opens in March. I bet they'll have the first trailer as an opening to Remember Me in the theaters, to make sure they pull all the twilight fans in....

I should tell everyone that I haven't read this script, but I came on to try to help folks get some perspective on this situation. I know we all can be very passionate about our Twilight characters--I hate to see them changed too, so I hope this doesn't happen to them (I agree with you about that for sure!).
It just disturbs me to come here for some Twi-news and see this whole thread of anger and despair over something that isn't the final cut on the screen yet. For all we know, DS and Kristen & the gang might have said "uh. I don't think so...wteff?" and their scripts ended up in trash cans or shredders! LOL. (after they said politely "try again dear")
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

You're just right, I think once we all get over the initial couple of days of MR induced despair the positivity will come! Most likely once we've all seen the trailer.

I'm thinking maybe the trailer will come out soon. SEx and the City 2 isn't out until May and the trailer for that came out December so fingers crossed!

I think out obssession over this whole twilight saga has turned the whole thing to bs. I'm going to stay away from any news regarding the twilight world including cast. Come Eclipse I will enjoy the movie and see it like it is.... a film and nothing else.

The sad thing is, this is more than just a film to me, it's an adaptation of a book that I really love. Whether the cast are dating each other or what they do in their spare time is irrelavent, I just want to see the story I love brought to life properly. Just because we've read the books and know what's happening doesn't mean it's not important enough to be portrayed accuratley on screen.

The fact that this website exists and that we are all taking time to comment is proof of how much people care about the book and it's characters. Obviously not everyone's favourite bit is going to be in the film, but so many lovely moments between Bella and Edward were left out of 'Twilight', I'm just sad to hear that the same thing is happening to Eclipse.

I don't think we're the ones responsible for turning it to bs, we've MR to thank for that haha, (but you're right that we're obessessed!!) :)

The essence of b/e in eclipse is continued from the volterra scene in nm.......lacking that true love and passion ( i seriously have said this too many times, im starting to really Annoy MYSELF) that seethes from the books.
And ya, we have MR to thank.....and SM for allowing it to get all twisted, i suppose....
I think they believe those "30 days of night" -like fight scenes will blow us away and we'll forget the rest of the movie and its craptastic dialogue--OH, AND that we'll be distracted by those IMAX-sized Abs ;) ;)

EVERYONE, STOP GETTING ALL UPSET OVER THE SCRIPT!!! Really, it is not that bad! Just because Edward didn't say something you were hoping for, or something like that DOESN'T mean anything. You have to stop looking at these movies like they are the books--because they ARE NOT!!! You have to start looking at these movies as what they are...

And plus, everything important that happens in the book happens in the movie...NOTHING CHANGED AT ALL!!!And the very few changes are really no big deal. Another big thing is that you have to trust David Slade, Melissa Rosenburg, the actors, and even Stephenie Meyer----I'm sure she wouldn't let her book be ruined. All of these people want to do the book justice...you have to trust them. I think the movie will be great regardless of what the sript says. Don't you? 'Cause if you don't, don't even bother seeing the movie. :P Sorry for the ranting. :D

For me, it's not that she's left out something I wanted Edward to say, it's that from the very beginning of the saga, she's made Edward a two dimensional character. She's cut so many aspects of his personality out of all the scripts. Where's his humour and charm?? I was hoping that she would redeem some elements of his character in this film but it would appear that she hasn't.

All the main events may be in the script but she's changed the nature of certain relationships within the story by having B and E react totally out of character in certain situations. I know that the movies will never be as good as the books, that would be impossible, but the key to being a good scriptwriter is understanding your characters. In a book you can read what the characters are thinking, but in a movie you can't therefore the dialogue and character direction is even more important.

I completely understand what your saying, but remember that this script is an EARLY draft! And I have to disagree with you that Bella and Edward aren't the same charcters that they were in the books. It seems like none of you guys are really like Twilight anymore...just because a very early draft was leaked, doesn't mean anything. My main point is that you have to TRUST them, especially Stephenie Meyer and David Slade. And, for all you know, the whole script could be changed into what you were hoping for. So, just stop ranting, because the original script that was leaked is pretty good (well, to me at least).

And, not only that, but your acting like the you know the WHOLE movie by heart, which isn't true. Its not for you to say that the Melissa Rosenburg hasn't done a good job, because you don't know that. This is just an early draft. Stop ranting about it, because that means that you have no faith in this film.

If you think that Bella and Edward's relationship is being portrayed faithfully by MR in the movies then I'm happy for you. I don't see it myself, but I'm glad that you're not being disappointed. If you think the script was a good adaption of eclipse then again, I'm happy for you. However, I don't. That's my opinon. A lot of people on here don't. Hence the 1000+ comments about it.

I'm not here to make assumptions or sweeping statements about people that thought the script was good. If you enjoyed it then that's great :)
But don't make assumptions about the people that didn't like it.

It doesn't mean we don't like Twilight anymore, in fact, quite the opposite. The fact that we are ranting about it so much, is because the text means alot to us and we feel very strongly about it and about how the characters are portrayed on screen. That's what this post is for, to discuss it and how we feel about it.

It's not like I've just decided that MR is a bad screenwriter for no reason. Her adaptions of 'Twilight' and 'New Moon' were incredibly disappointing and lacking. I could go on and on about why I think they were bad adpations but I've said it all here about a million times.

As I've said in other posts I have faith in the cast and Director to do a first rate job with the material they are given as they always do and to use their creativity to improve on it, but it's hard to put your trust in MR. When someone has let you down twice before it's hard to trust them a third time.

As I said before, its not for you guys to say whether Melissa Rosenburg did a good job or not, because you really have no idea what she wrote. Please, just try to understand that theres no need getting upset about this script, because probably half of the things you see in here are either going to be changed a little, or a new scene could be added.

And plus, why is everyone so upset that Bella goes for a ride with Jacob on his bike? Just becuase she does that, doesn't mean that she doesn't love Edward anymore. You guys are just looking for stupid reasons to hate the early draft of the script. Get a grip, and stop ranting.

In my responses I have also ended several times by saying that you were right that we should have hope and that the script is an early one and will probably change. Yes, so many ppl were broken up about the bloodtyping scene not being in there. I saw Twilight when i didnt even really know about what it was, so i had no idea what was missing. Then i read the book and was like, OMG They actually TALKED and hung out before they fell for each other ?? lol
Seriously, where was the cafeteria convo where he motions Bella over w/ his finger and dazzles her for the first time? ANd omg, wut about the Lion fell in love with the lamb line in the movie? I first saw it and was like "Wt heck is that supposed to mean? That's random??" Cuz they had no backstory....how hard would it be to cut out a bit of those coffeeshop scenes w/ Charlie for some b/e lunch time talk or in his car?
Oh, LOL, yes, we would be skeletal by the time we ranted out our lifespan on here about what has been so altered in the adaptation of this terrific love story :P
omg, i just remembered...after the meadow scene (books)--or is it before?--- when he walks Bella to her class, and touches her cheek and brushes a strand of her hair in place on her neck...ome, wow, that really sticks in my mind! And he's waiting for her after class and stuff... THOSE are the interactions we needed to build a believable relationship in Twilight!

Right back at ya! I totally agree. It was a disgrace the butchering of their relationship. MR is a moron who clearly has no clue about character development - hang on - she didn't have to develop the characters it was done for her. Did she just read the blurb on the back of the book and make the rest up????

How can the thousands of people commenting on this site have a common understanding of the characters and important moments and yet MR who is supposed to be a professional get it so massively wrong. Damn Catherine for getting her involved!!!

I feel exactly the same, you want the people who haven't read the books to understand why you're so obsessed with Edward and why he's so amazing. You just don't get to see who he fully is in the film. Argh! So frustrating.

this is my first post iv made here but i read the script last night and finished it earlier today and although a lot of it does actually follow the book, maybe not in the correct detail but after all its a long book! there are some really key points missing. personally one of my favourite parts in eclipse is the tent scene and this wasnt great im deeply dissapointed with that part. they added new bits in which seem unnecessary and have missed key points out and finer details. MR has the books to follow from and although i agree with adding parts in to make it more fluent i do not agree with changing it completely. the essence of the book has changed to include a lot more of jacob in. this may seem like i am simply slating the draft but generally i like it and i can see a lot of people dont. but yes its not perfect but lets face it, would any of us be completely happy with the script unless it was a complete copy of the book and even then people would find something to complain about. and on the plus side; its a draft:D! so there is still hope guys!

i think MR would be an amazing screenwriter if she would stop leaving out key/cute moments....cuz the drama that she adds into the script and the new twists she adds in with explaining the army more and having extended fight scenes is great. Her opening is great and dramatic and intense. Some of the cute moments she adds are funny...the intro was cute with bella and edward and when jakes boys are making fun of the thoughts going on in his head whether he should call bella or not was funny and cute.

But i did feel the tent scene was rushed....i dont think there was enough emotion from bella after she leaves jakes house after seeing him injured (in the book she cries in the car with edward by her side).

I dont like her added love triangle drama with bella getting on jakes moto in front of edward...i just think that sends the wrong message. I can deal with it, but i still want alice to kidnap bella, i want to see leg hitch at the correct moment (though the script doesnt say it, i believe that if MR did put in a leg hitch, she probably put it in where edward is alone with bella for the night before the battle and i just dont think it belongs there).

Honestly, the script isnt all that bad after reading it over. After first glance, i was way more furious. But really the only problem i have with it is leaving out alice kidnapping bella and alice being mad at bella for seeing her run off to vegas and at the end where bella is supposed to go see alice and tell her she can do everything which was cute in the book.

She got the battle and drama of the army forming right on point and she filled in some plot points....but she still is missing a couple key plot points and her rearranging of some stuff is not agreeable to me.

If she is under time constraints, she shoulda cut down on the backstories. She went into way too much detail with the backstories of jasper, the quilette legend, and rosalie.

What upsets me also is how she ignores bella's and alice's relationship. If you go by the movies you would never have guessed how close they are. They are like sisters. Yet MR does not put any emphasis on this relationship. I love alice and the relationship she has with bella.

So true. There are hardly any converstaions between them in the movies. It's a real shame because Alice is such an amazing character and they have such a great relationship and you don't get a sense of that on screen.

So frustrating.

yeah i know i love alice and bellas relationship so much....i know alot of people want alice to kidnap bella cuz then we get bella to leave edward a scary message and then edward comes back and we get the leg hitch. But i like alice kidnapping bella cuz its so cute, then we get bella leaving edward a phone message telling him how he should be scared for her wrath, and we get bella ditching alice at school to get on jakes bike (this is HOW IT SHOULD FREAKIN HAPPEN IN THE SCRIPT...not right in front of edward), then finally we get edward to come back while bella is sleeping and its so cute that shes not even mad at him cuz shes just so happy he is home and we get the leg hitch and we get her elluding to how she wants sex haha.

Im sorry, but i dont buy the excuse that you need to cut down so much cuz of run time. If they make a 3 hour movie, we will still go see it and see it multiple times. James Cameron's avatar was like 2 hours and 40 minutes and i saw it 4 times and i love twilight way more so i would see twilight just as much if not more if we got eclipse to be 2 hours and 40 minutes long. I know they can just throw the leg hitch into the edward kidnapping bella seen before the big fight, but that just doesnt satisfy me totally. Like yeah i'd be happy to see a leg hitch, but i would be mad at all the missed parts that i just mentioned if she cuts out alice not kidnapping bella.

And also, after edward comes back dont they talk about vegas or something (not sure if im stating the location of the scene correctly) and then alice like wont talk to bella and then alice in such a cute way tells bella how upset she is that bella would run away to get married without telling her. Like this scene would be so perfect and then at the end, u would have bella going to tell alice how she could do everything. Im sorry but adding in that content that i just eluded to wouldnt add to much time to run time and i just think its essential to the story. It gives us more alice/bella time and it gives us more edward/bella which the script desperately needs.

Its like all jake fans get to complain about is that bella does not cry in the end after she goes to see him and his broken bones. But besides that, jake fans should be jumping up and down cuz their character is made out to look like a saint and MR has bella jumping on his moto right in front of edward (reading that in the script really makes me mad).

But for alice and edward fans, i think we just get screwed. And its just not fair cuz after all the books are about edward and bella and the cute moments that bella has with alice are so good plotwise and would translate so well on the big screen. Ashley greene is just such a good alice that i think she needs more content.

Ill still keep my fingers crossed cuz i know it was an earlier draft not used for filming. I still believe in the actors and i still believe in DS.

But my faith in MR is just ruined...like for god sakes she didnt even put in jakes can't fight with an eclipse quote. Like does she know the freaking title of the book.

Ok thats enough ranting...there are alot of positives in the script as usual but as usual i think MR misses some real key moments and she portrays the main characters wrong in many instances.

i haven't read the script, but your synopsis certainly doesn't make me feel very hopeful. :(
I am not team edward or team jacob or team anyone. I am really TEAM THE FREAKING BOOK. This just happens to mean that the story between E&B is THE most important thing..
anyway...like I said, I haven't read the script, but feel so sad now that Eclipse will be missing its 'soul'

The more I read about this the more upsetting it is! First of all does anyone know of anyway to get in touch with MR in order to express our disgust at this hatchett job she is calling a script?? I think if the fans are able to let her know how they feel about this then there maybe some chance of saving Breaking Dawn!

I mean how hard can it be to write a script when the characters, plot and amazing dialogue are already there for you?? It's not like she has to imagine what the characters reactions to situations are, they are written for her in black and white. You can change some of the dialogue if you have to for the purposes of the screen but not at the expense of the characters personalities and relationships!

I know you can't put every scene from the book in the film but surely if she'd read and understood the characters at all she would know what was important. I would really love to know who she is writing these films for because there are quite obviously not for the fans who have made the franchise a success in the first place.

Exactly right! I didn't know what am I going to do about this travesty!! I can't boycott the film because I want to see it no matter how much they have destroyed it...but want to find a way to let them know what they have done. We have to get hold of that woman's contact details!!!

How can so many fans untrained in film making (I'm assuming) have so much more of an idea on character portrayal than a woman who is a 'proffessional' being paid (yes paid!) to do it????

To Fans who WANT to read the script but don't want to spoil the movie for themselves...Of course it is up to you if you don't want to, but I didn't experience reading it like spoiling the movie for me....

It's almost as reading a combination between the book and a fanfiction. There are things you recognize but somethings are really different and there is no image of it so when you see the movie, its then that you really see it.

It's a bit like when you're pregnant you see the baby on the sonogram and you have a faint idea...But it is still a big surprise and a different experience when you're actually holding the baby in your arms...

Except that we have already HELD this baby in our arms and the baby was PERFECT and BEAUTIFUL and SPECIAL and MORE AMAZING than we could have hoped for -- which was the book.
We have ALREADY seen it and held it and loved it....so, for me, knowing that this is MR's baby and not Steph's, that is the scary thing.
I won't read it, but i read the comments and feel sad, disappointed, and even more afraid. If the BOOK didn't exist, and there was ONLY this script that someone created out of their head, then...yeah...maybe. But, I LOVE this baby already and I don't want a HORRIBLE imitation.

O Sweetie, I do so understand what you mean...All I can say is that I hope that the director and the actors tried to make the best of what was written on paper...And that just like with NM they took some matters into their own hands to create the same feeling from the books...

Can you imagine this!!! So sad.....I'm really debating...if I want my boyfriend to see Eclipse...because from the way they make the saga into movies he gets a wrong idea of the story and the saga...
I must say that I thought that at least Twilight had somewhat of the intensity between Edward and Bella...but at times somethings in there were also cringeworthy but at least you got the idea of the impossible lovestory but the more we get closer to the climax which is BD the more Scummit and MR keep f*cking the saga up...

wow alot of mixed opinions in here and ppl going off track and talking about HP and Avatar (which i LOVE) but anyway, I thought NM was better done then Twilight, except i hated that the relationship between Bella and Jacob wasn't developed more. My 3 favourite parts are 1. when bella watches the seasons go by at the window and u see the emotions she is going through. 2. the reunion in Volterra and 3. the wolves going after Victoria.
Other then that i definetly wish they would get a new scriptwriter please! enough already of putting things in that aren't in the book and taking out things that are!!!!!
James Cameron would NEVER do a twilight book because he has better sense then to get on board with Summit especially if MR is still the screenwriter. And besides he is too big of a name.
Personally i would love to see Christopher Nolan behind one of the Twilight books. I haven't read the leaked script and don't forget it isn't the FINAL script so CALM DOWN PPL!
anyway if u guys are looking for new authors, turn to Maggie Stiefvator or Cassandra Clare not that SM isn't great, i just think at some point twihards (like myself) need to distance ourselves a bit from the Mania of Twilight and appreciate other things in life.
But I am JUST as excited as the next fan to see Eclipse!!

I am starting to believe that this "team" thing is the reason for such a upside down Script.
Eventhough they say this is an early version I cant imagine they changed things dramatically from July to August...

I can enjoy Eclipse without any Kissing or leghitch scenes if It has the meaningfull dialogs and scenes and If I get the same feeling about the strory and the charactors at the end of the film.They cared for each other in many other ways without kissing or leghitching.



To me Bellas wanting to be changed by Edwards and Edwards wanting to get married first was more dominnent than this love traingle.

What I want to see from the story and the charactors:

Edward - Jealous at the begining, Protective and Patient in the middle, love and happy in the end

Bella: So protective of Edward (fear of leaving and defending Edward with her father and Jacob) and trying so hard to be a good friend to Jacob and convincing him that there is no choice to make and sometime even get really annoy with jacob...and at the end so much determination and courage to accept the truth. she was sad for hurting both Edward and Jacob.

Jacob: Trying to be a good friend to bella while in love with her...Very Edgy and annoying sometime.. aggressive

Please we will unite as one team....and get the meaasage to them...we have sometime left.

I do understand what u mean about "teams". Im not big on them myself, but ppl do differentiate that way, and i sometimes use the affiliations in my comments. I agree w/ your points, tho. I have commented a few times already today bcuz of my somewhat fierce reaction (a bit agonized, a lot frustrated, even tho i can do nothing but vent! :P) to the script and what it lacks (which seems to be an extension of what was also not shown or portrayed in NM, ie. the passion b/w B AND E and WHY they cant be apart from each other, the reasons they are meant to be, etc.)

Edward--as u pointed out, but ALWAYS patient and protective. Selfless ...i find MR shows him as being weak and dull, and too jealous for my taste, i guess. She missed most of the scenes of flirty and cute and witty Edward, like at beginning w/ college applications, and the whole j/b/e kitchen scene (knife scene) is left out too.
NONE of the terrific lines from Edward (she remembered most of Jacob's tho :\ :S) when they "face off" in front of B's house...."that's about right, pup" That whole side of things, that "YOU are a vamp. I am a wolf and i want your woman" (J) and "She IS mine; i wont fight fair""i will break your jaw for her" is missing, and makes the tent scene and the overheard marriage confession by the tent (in the script) pale in comparison

Bella--- cannot say enuf about how her character (negative) but will not get into that right now :P YES, luv triangle has been elevated and hyped for Scummit's and MR's master plan...which i cant point my finger at...cuz i just dont./...get it :S
But u are right, about what is missing from Bella, ESP her annoyance w/ Jacob. She doesnt TAKE his crap in the book. She's not truly confused until before the tent kiss and during it, but knows her destiny has been and always will be Edward. Sorry Jake.
But HE sure does get the love when MR is writing it up........

Jacob---exactly. He should be more uncontrolled, a lot more bitter (we'll see if Taylor adds that in??With the direction of DS maybe??) annoying at times, etc...

I wasn't going to say thing and maybe I shouldn't ,but this is just bad and disappointing one of my favorite book!! It's not a love triangle It Bella and Jacob story.
Ok when I came home from work that when I found out about the script leaked. My best friend was waiting for me she was upset!! I got her hook on the Twilight books after she went with me to see Twilight. She fell in love with Bella and Edward and their love story just like I did, so I told her to read all the books and she did. She read all 4 of them in two week and love them, so I feel bad now that she so upset about this!! I under stand why!!
We had plan on going to the 12:00 show and take our girls and their friends, but now we may not being going to see Eclipse after this. My baby and her friend just love Edward and I don't want her to be disappoint too because she love the books so much. Right now it just wait and see what happen and read what get posted after the movie come out..
The whole thing is just so disappointing.

Bella leave Edward and hop on Jacobs motorcycle and leave Edward in a school parking lot.
Bella asking Jacob if he would prefer days or the night to be her protector and then letting him have the night. And asking Edward if the days were good for family. NO WAY!!

U are right and ---as a few others have said ( i m so happy there are more out there like me!) --this does NOT feel like the Bella Edward story we all devoured the book pages for....it's a J and B story with Edward thrown in as the "kinda creepy, unsure, kinda weakling" (to outsiders) vampire dude that's on the sidelines trying to hold on to his woman(seriously, i can barely write that sentence w/o my muscles starting to hurt cuz im tensing in stress so much :P) SO disappointing and misleading.

I dont believe any more of that needs to be shown..why could she not just LEAVE it how it was in the book? Edward carrying her after the Sethward riley victoria fight and her finding out FROM EDWARD afterwards,(JUST read that chapter an hour ago, so this is fresh in my mind) just go thru w/ the volturi+bree scene and see Jacob later (when he's SUPPOSED to be shown, when she and him are in his room later. "Cant fight an Eclipse" Anyone????)

I hope they changed it from this draft, they left a few key points out. They had Jacob give her the bracelet with the wolf, but didn't have Edward add the crystal heart. In the tent scene my favorite part is when Jacob and Edward are going back and forth and when Edward says to Jacob after he climbs in Bella's sleeping bag about how he wishes he could do for her what Jacob is doing (keeping her warm). I know this is a rough draft, so I'm hoping that they did put those parts in.

MR only seems to sympathise and understand or even RELATE (i cant really explain it better to myself :P) to the Jacob/ Bella relationship, it seems. SADLY.:(
(We did see this in NM, i think almost everyone would agree....i mean, she left out the whole meteor speech. ALL of it.....*SMH**)

I am also somewhat worried about how this series will end. I love the books and i think what will be hard to deal with is when they cut out all the romance and passion and violence so that it is appropriate for their "target" audience. Well I'm sorry that I'm slightly older than thirteen, but at age 23 (the same as RPatz) I want to see the authentic, what was written in the book, raw sensuality that I read about in the last two books. Not what was dumbed down for the young kids so the parents (who let them read the books but dont want them to see it on the screen) will be ok with it? Does anyone else feel that the good parts will be left out so the production team can go ahead with their PG-13 rating. I dont have anything against tweens, but i like for the books i love to match the script.

I don't think so, because they can get away with a lot for a PG 13 movie. There can be sensuality and se* scenes, just certain things cannot be shown. They can easily keep it true to the book and still get a PG 13 movie. Titanic was PG 13 and they showed nudity and other things....

I agree as far as Eclipse goes....but only bc I read the script and now kind of know what to expect on screen.....but my concern was more with BD and the graphic scenes.....i must have a great imagination bc i dont think they can show that on a PG 13 movie or you are right, they will definitely be getting away with a lot....i went to ratings guide and checked it out....regardless of the rating, im sure the movies will be amazing bc it is the Twilight Saga and "whats not to love". This is my first time ever commenting, but this script is KILLING ME. As my name implies.

I read it last night (stayed up all morning actually, until 10 am. Went to bed for 4 hours and COULD NOT get back to sleep cuz all i could think about was the sickening feeling in my chest and all the despicable lines i read in the script that allowed this feeling to take hold. Sorry I'm going all emo....)
I can say, in all honesty, i've never used the word "travesty" in my life before, UNTIL NOW. MR is seriously vile and repugnant (i cannot say it enuf). I know that may sound harsh, but the ignorance of this woman to the Saga and to what the fans see and feel in the books, therefore need and WANT in the scripts, is incredible. I am Team Edward, altho i find that sometimes too trivial a term, lol, cuz he is just BEYOND....words (As Bella would say). In Eclipse, i laughed and cried so many times, as i have NEVER laughed and cried for any other characters EVERY. The TwiSaga really has that effect on ppl, i guess :P But this script had me crying INSIDE. I couldnt stop saying "WHAT THE *HALE* is going on in that VILE woman's MIND!?!?" MR has almost no grasp on who Edward is and WHAT he is about. And for her to write Bella as more of a B**** than anything else (in this script, it seemed as tho MR uses Bella's lines to reflect her OWN feelings for Edward, as tho she's annoyed w/ his overprotective nature, calling him out as a liar, leaving him standing alone in her dust like a PU**Y (U know which scene i'm talking about everyone !) and almost completely dismisses the fact that HE is the reason for her want of immortality, and just making it as tho she needs to be a vampire cuz everyone else will always be in danger if she's not bale to protect them/him.... I MEAN ,. WTH? ! ))
This is just so....frustrating. Painful. BRUTAL.

Ive seriously never felt so disgusted that i had to comment on here, even tho ive been lurking (and laughing along with everyone on here, cuz u guys can be so incredibly hilarious and entertaining!) since May when i got into the saga and the books.
This script more than disappointed me...bcuz, really, i was waiting to see how bad it was gonna be, tbh :P I am more a person to see the flaws in movies, esp adaptations, than the good parts, but i can see both! There are some terrific, beautiful things in Twilight, as there are some great, intense scenes in NM, along with the lame,cringeworthy, ridiculous and confusing (ntm disheartening :P = I think Team Edward girls can infer of what i am speaking, as he has been changed into,sometimes, someone i can barely recognize as fitting the Edward Anthony Masen Cullen i fell for in the books). Even tho i am sickened by the fact that MR did some thorough butchering of the book to come to this (scripts/.the movies) and that she was allowed to keep on after Twilight, i blame Summit, and WILL always. And forever. These men are nothing but greedy SUITS.
I actually coined a term "SCUMmit Suits" to refer to Summit's businessmen and producers and the lot. It's really fitting. They grabbed at the opportunity of this saga and kept rolling like a snowball w/ all the money $$$ accumulating from ppl's love, devotion and sometimes obsessions w/ TS! But this is what these men do, that is why they are in that business, it works like this in these companies. And, yes, they ARE cheap. I know many of u feel that way cuz ive ready the thousands of comments here these past few months. SCUMMIT are absolutely pocketing their shareof the $$ :S ANyone know the budget for Eclipse? IF it is near the same as NM (50$mil ) I think i will puke in my mouth a little bit...... Would they not be able to sink $20 mil more in Eclipse if needed after the NM box office haul?(altho they would have had to estimate such a thing, since Eclipse filming was BEFORE NM even came out, so im not sure how that side of things work). I also have opinions about SM and her part (or non-part) in this has been, but i will not get into that now. Spare u guys :P

I share the your sentiment. I've been lurking around this site for more than a year now but never commented...I finally gave in and share my thoughts these past couple days because of all the comments I've read about the Eclipse script. I gave in this afternoon and read the Eclipse script. I am on page 93 and I am dying here. My underlined disappointment is that MR changes the main characters persona from the book (Jacob for the better, Edward and Bella for the worse). As a result, to me it's no longer the Twilight that I love. What is the purpose of making these movies if you change the characters we love fell inlove with while reading the books? I noticed that she made Jacob's character alot more likable, which is fine with me. However, there are key things that Edward did and say in the books that made me fall inlove with him that is not included or has been changed in this script. Examples:

1) Bella took off with Jacob on the bike leaving Edward there watching them ride off - My issue with this...Bella would not do this and this change is a complete change to this whole scene from the book. It changes Bella character for me.

2) Jacob gave Bella the charm bracelet with the hand craved wooden wolf but no mentioned of Edward gift - My issue with this....Edward noticed this gift and gave her the diamond heart so she can attached it to the bracelet. I feel the dialogue in this scene from the book is really important because it shows us Edward love for Bella (also his insecurity of her love because of Jacob) and it's completely excluded from the script.

3) After Jacob finds out that Bella is marrying Edward, Jacob runs off and Bella runs after Jacob and Edward goes into the woods - My issue with this....Did MR not read the same book that I've read? Edward is the one that chase after Jack and brings him back so that Bella can talk to Jack because she was upset that Jacob was upset. Edward gave them alone time and even said he will not listen to their conversation. What is written in the script is totally wrong! It doesn't show us Edward true character as in the book. His selfless love for Bella!!!!

4) Edward's humor is completely missing from the script. I give MR credit for including Jack's humor in the script but why did she leave Edward's humor out of it???? It should be balance.

OK this is all I have so far after reading 93 pages of the script. I apologize for such a long comment. I had to get this off my chest, too. I shouldn't let this bother me because I am usually a very rational person. Unfortunately, I became obsessed with Twilight at first sight (Twilight the movie).

I am so sadden by this because Eclipse is my fave book and I didn't like New Moon the movie. They changed the direction of Edward's character from the books and the first movie. I felt all the kisses between Edward and Bella in New Moon was awkward (that is on the director). I am praying that when I actually see Eclipse the movie, it will exceed my expectation from this script.

I had my mouth AGAPE at some of the things Bella said and did in the script and was like, whoa, i didnt think it could get worse than NM :S

MR includes EVERY side of Jake, but w/ B and E? It's like this sick manipulation of all of their worst traits from the books, w/ very little of their wit, humour, understanding,protectiveness, lightness and intense adoration and fateful longing.....

Yes, i can see where ppl felt the awkwardness in NM's kisses, which does not help in portraying the happy and light side to Belward's love! Ya, that's on the director a bit, and i also blame the actors a bit...i just cant put my finger on if it's mainly Kristen .... I know the ANGST of those kisses was there, but my major issue w/ the movies is there is too much angst and tension. Too much focus on that.
I mean, how many times did they say i love you or smile and be light and flirty in twilight? What about the banter and the back and forth wittiness? What about NM: the meteor speech is THE Edward Declaration (besides Twilight meadow and afterwards, cant forget which part in book, sry!) and after, on the way to The Cullens house,when B realizes his love for her and the cuteness that follows...
(Edward has only ran w/ B ONCE in the movies (T) and and they've only said I Love You once as well--under sad circumstance, too!! Also Bella sees E as her Destiny from the beginning, and is explicit about it on last page of NM. Can u really tell from the movies?>>>>>>......

I believe she's read them once and was not interested enuf to actually delve any deeper than the surface. Jacob is pretty easy to understand. i DO feel she favors him and it's EASY for her to write about the J and B feelings. Edward? Not so much. I think it's too deep for her and she doesnt understand . ANd did not/HAS not tried to delve deeper so she could find the true draw that B and E have for each other. She may think she gets it ENUF, and is ignorant ---maybe too cocky about her writing "talent"? (I have seen her in some interviews)---- and she actually believes she's interpreting these books and the main relationship properly. Sometimes i just think...well, i think too much, let's just say! lol...(sry i'm blathering. Has been a long day:P)

Yes I totally agree with you. I did not like their kissing scenes in NM and they completely turned Edwards charactor up side down at the end of the movie so as Bellas charactor...

Yes I wanted Edwards to go after Jacob and later tell Bella that She can go which way she wanted ...later after the J/B kiss ...edward says that she can do whatever she wants and he only wants her to be happy...Those are very touching moments. Those are not even cheesy scenes.

They have completely misunderstood the fans taste...They think that we are all about vampires and werewolfs and abs and Sparkle...

OK I have to add to my rant. I just read page 96 of the script and Edward is apologizing to Bella for making her choose between Jacob and him. Are you kidding me??? No...No...No. Edward would NEVER do that. In fact, in the book he said Bella can have any part of him she wants or none at all!!! I translate that in mind is that if she wants to be with Jacob, he still wants to be with her if she just want a little part of him. This shows us how unselfish he is and what is written in the script changes his character.

And it's basically obliterated, in my mind, at least :( (even after the tent scene and some decent lines in there---but no spaceheater!----that ONE LINE of robward's just stopped me dead (They can almost save that scene if they change that to the proper line. i can't keep coming back to this post because every time i do my heart breaks. I'll just keep hoping that DS fixed the school scene what is for me the most important fix to be done by the comments i've been reading from those who have read the script. I twitted DS with the link to this post but that's just because i want to belive that it's gonna make a diference and in the end we'll get to see a movie at least as close to the book as new moon was.

Dont know how much David S was able to do w/ the script, if he was not fond of this saga to begin with, i dont know how much he would feel the DESIRE to change those tragic e/b lines and interactions....(*sigh**It's hard to think about....almost hard to even type it!:P). I am NOT putting him down, cuz as a director, he may have adapted himself to this movie, more than i may expect ;i can only hope, really. I just am ...not.....feeling it.
I'm sure he will not disappoint on the fight scenes and the Riley changing scene at the beginning (that video is on Youtube if anyone wants to see it) but THAT is his strong point.

I really hope they'll change the ending especially! Bella is suppose to choose immortality because of Edward only! It's only in Breaking Dawn after she actually turns into a vampire then she realizes that she belongs in that world alongside with him. How in the world can MR misread this important point when the E/B conversation about vampire and marriage literally spells it out?

Other things I can live with, even though I would still pray they stick to the original storyline. Like the part after Edward killed Victoria; I didn't mind how they showed Edward's insecurity since a part of him was always waiting for the running and screaming, but I want Bella's reaction to be intense like the book where she was so relieved from the worry she was kissing him all over.

And Edward should be the one chasing after Jacob for Bella, and I want the whole "you can have whatever part of me you want, or none at all, if that's better." because it really shows the reason why we love Edward so much - he's selfless! I bet if Bella selfishly says she wants them both he'll oblige.

I don't mind them making Jacob a lesser jerk than he was in Eclipse, but they have to show the beauty of Edward's character and soul for non-readers that watch the movie to understand why Bella chooses him in the end. It's not that Jacob is a less eligible guy, it's how Bella and Edward's relationship surpasses the natural order of life like Jacob's quote about their relationship - "The clouds I can handle, but I can't fight an eclipse."

I had mentioned in an earlier post that she messed up the ending. What is wrong with MR? What did she not understand. The ONLY reason bella wants to become a vampire is to be with EDward. I said the same thing bella does not have this revelation until after she becomes an immortal. That is when she sees that that is her true place in the universe. Im some ways i like what bella said at the end because when you read the books you see that bella was meant to be a vampire. She does belong in the world of vampires. But the way i see it she belongs in that world because she and Edward are destined to be together. So maybe Dum-dum MR should have written the the dialogue along those lines. Instead she wrote the lines to make it look like it was not all about Edward.

Did you also notice how assertive and bold bella was with jane. Again this happens when bella becomes a vampire. It seems to me like MR took the characters and made her own version of them. I tell you i would like to do nothing more than smack her for every line that she messed up. Then beat her senseless.

I DO mind them making Jacob less of a jerk. I mind many things they have done in the adaptation of these characters to screen. They have changed them, and it's apparent which way the saga's theme was leading when u saw in New Moon Jacob come up to Bella in the parking lot to give her the bday gift....I saw it right there, and i cringed. There is no denying that MR is Team Jacob and allows him a pedestal whereas Edwards gets a freaking stool :S
It was more about selling MR's favourite (Jacob) and elevating this "luv triangle" that never truly existed in that somewhat cliche way they tried to show it. There is little to Edward's true beauty (his amazing qualities that all of us Edward lovers could go on and on about) existent in NM and now Eclipse, apart from the exterior Robward and that stray line here and there---which is NOT ENUF. Noone who hasnt read the books would understand the intense appeal of him, bcuz his character has been picked apart and dumbed down and weakened and just wholly MINIMIZED by the mainly just plain ignorant MR.
I believe she skimmed the books and fell in luv with Jacob or something....i dont even want to go on cuz it's just.....i dont know.....wrong. She's just WRONG for the saga :( Anyone else want to add anything to my _________ (all of this )????

I so completely agree with you. Bella wants to be turned to a vampire so she can love him and be with him for eternity. NOT because she feels like she belong in the vampire world. She only realizes that when she was a vampire. If MR changes this theme from the book...it completely change the whole story. I am so disappointed.

I can't agree with the first paragraph more - in the book Bellas thoughts are something along the lines of " of course it is all about you!. The script makes it look as if being immortal is more important than the reason to become a vampire in the first place - EDWARD! This diminished her reason for wanting to change - this would give the wrong feel to the end of the movie.

Yes, I LOVE the New Moon score. I bought the whole thing for my iPod. =) I REALLY hope Eclipse is as close to the book as New Moon was. They HAVE to have the REAL proposal scene in there, and it has to be RIGHT. Unlike Twilight and the meadow scene, where they messed it all up. =p

When did Eclipse begin/end filming? Because everyone is going apeshi* over this script when the date is like, from July and it's a really early draft. They still had time to fix things for the FINAL script, so there's really no need to go so insane about it. I'm reading the script right now (I've only gotten to the part about Taha Aki and the Third Wife) and the only thing I have a problem with so far is the school scene because there is no way in Hale Bella would just leave Edward like that. The rest of it seems okay...

Also, I wonder who's going to be the composer for the movie. I really hope it's Desplat again!! He did such a beautiful job with the music for NM.

I know that Eclipse finished filming on the 29th of October, so seeing as this was written in July, it would have given them a while to modify it (: I hope.

I have read the Eclipse script, and I have to say it's NOT THAT BAD!! Actually, the tent scene was really well done. And the fight cene is AMAZING!!! And even though this is an early copy of the script, I think that the actual film will surprise people (in a good way).

I am disappointed. I just finished reading the script and I dont get it!!! MR is definetely TEAM JACOB. I guess we will not see E/B relationship developing at all. Their important conversations and how much they love each other. Lets hope that this Rough draft of a acript was actually changed a bit before they filmed the movie....

I have been looking for the script all day, can't find it. But I'm trusting everyone on here that's read it. They mucked it up. I knew they would. I'm sorry, I like David Slade's directing, but I didn't think he'd do this movie justice. I knew it would be all about the fighting and none of the romance.
The part that pisses me off is that we DIDN"T get all the romance in Twilight w/ B&E that we should have. It was rushed. Eclipse was the movie to make up for what we lost the first time.
It just "sucks rocks" that I have involved so much of my time w/ this franchise. I would normally not do something like this, but I do it for my niece. This is something we do together and have alot of fun with. Haven't told her about this yet...dreading it.....and she is TEAM EDWARD big time. She was sooo looking forward to this.
I guess our plans have now changed for Eclipse. We'll wait to hear all your reactions after the movie comes out. If it is the way I think it will be. We'll skip it and rent it later. Screw it..I'm not investing my time, nor my money to a studio that won't take the time to listen to the fans that made The Twilight Saga what it is today. It's the least they can f---ing do for us. Give us the movie we want.

You guys, I downloaded it, and I don't have a virus. If you are afraid of that, than read it, than you can delete the file, or just delete the file while you still have the script minimized. Than, you can print it out. Btw, the script great. My only complaint is that the movie focuses more on Riley than anything else. His storyline is probably the biggest thing in the movie, but it's not that bad. The bed scene and the tent scene, and, most of all, the ending scene are my favorite parts of the script. Only...5 MORE MONTHS!!!

I just hope that David Slade is seeing all of this and can fix the problem if there is a problem. I really think that MR needs to get with the program about Edward and quit making him to be so harsh. He is a loving and caring person when it comes to Bella. Make sure it stays that way in the movie.

If one hasn't read the books then of course Edward won't be appealing to you in the movies, its like ms doesnt like Edwards character and is assuming that we all know how he is. Even still I still want to see the Edward I feel in love with in the books.

I read the script and was SO disappointed. MR really just doesn't get Edward's character. I can't believe what she's done to him. In the books, he's so charming and gentlemanly. He and Bella have this amazing relationship with chemistry that's so palpable. For a work of fiction, it feels SO real when you're reading it. Your heart beats faster and you're completely swooning.

NONE of this comes across in the films. I just can't handle what they've done to Edward! Edward comes across as really flat and brooding and can barely smile. All of the charm and charisma is gone. All of the flirty, swooning dialogue between Edward and Bella is gone. I am 100% Team Edward, and I can completely see why you'd leave the theater cheering for Jacob if you hadn't read the books.

Please, please, please. Why can't they include the swoon-worthy, flirtly dialogue between Edward and Bella? Why can't they show why they are so amazing together? Why can't they show us WHY they love each other so passionately by creating this incredible relationship for them like they have in the book?

Here's the BIG problem with the Eclipse script. MR totally makes it out like Bella just wants to be immortal, that Edward's kind of a side part of her decision. SO WRONG. When they try to highlight this non existing love traingle they forget all about E/Bs passionate love and commitment.

The saga goes deeper than just Edward and Bella's love for each other, if it didn't it would just be Twilight and Breaking Dawn. There is nothing wrong with a love triangle, and there is nothing wrong with Bella falling in love with Jacob, though not at the same level as Edward, it is still there in the books. Hence the love triangle.

I admit they do focus on it a bit more in the advertising of the movies, but it's not like it was made up scenes, they are the same from the book. Except I did find in New Moon the end to be disappointing, only because they cut out so much of the dialogue between Edward and Bella to show how much they do love each other.

That being said, Bella did say, "I love you Jacob. Don't make me choose, because it will always be him." So she did say she will always choose Edward, she didn't leave us wondering. And Jacob is sad in the books, so again I didn't see anything wrong with it, except I believe this line is actually from Eclipse? I can't remember.

I like to see all three in this story but not the way Its shown in the Movie but the way Its in the books.

She should have said that Your are my best friend jacob or I will always love you as a friend.

Atleast in NM and early in Eclipse...she kept telling him that and she clearly said that theres nothing to choose..

Couldn't agree more! They left so much out in Twilight and New Moon, I have yet to read the script, so we'll see how I feel about it then. And yes, I didn't like how Bella said "love" to Jacob, as people who haven't read the books will think she meant "in love" whereas everyone who has read the books knows, at this point in the story, SHE means "love as a friend". So yeah, that was frustrating.

Seems like they are trying to appeal to a wider audience by making into such a huge love triangle for all the drama, and whatnot. But I don't like that because they are indeed messing with the characters of the book by doing that. Grrr. I so gotta read that script!!!

I KNOW! that's what I don't get. When she talks about these books in interviews, she talks about how personal they are to her and what these characters mean to her, but then we see the movies, and we see the DAMAGE done to the characters and we know she has allowed it to happen.

Bravo...you summarize my thoughts exactly. I have not read the script for Eclipse but this is exactly how I felt while watching new moon, too! I don't like new moon the movie at all. I've been heart broken for the last 2 days because I was hoping eclipse will be better. I still have my fingers crossed and pray that they have made changes (since this is an earlier version of the script). I had to open the Eclipse book last night to read again to alleviate my heartbreak.

I totally agree with you. I just finished reading the script and I have been trying to figure out why I feel incomplete????!!!!! It was just not good enough. There is barely any Bella & Edward connection throughout the whole thing. It's like yeah we all know they are together but there is no affection between them. She shows more affection between Riley and Victoria and Bella w/ Jacob, even Alice and Jasper than w/ the two most important characters..... I ama little disappointed myself....
I read this is not the final script, but still is a start and unless she added scenes it just doomed.
