New pictures from the set of Jackson Rathbone’s movie The Last Airbender. According to LastAirBenderFans.com the pictures appear to be from the Greenland set of the movie, back in March.

Rathbone, who plays Jasper Hale in the Twilight Saga, is playing the part of Sokka in The Last Airbender which is scheduled to hit theaters July 2nd, 2010!

He never takes a bad picture .. never. I’m not biased, I’m just being honest

Awwwww, those little kids look so happy to be with him. ^^ I can totally understand! And I'm jealous of them! I miss this Jackson sooo much. We definitely don't see enough of this face nowadays. I think the set is Greenland, but I would gladly have flown across the ocean to climb in that parka with him and keep him warm (Jacob-style). I don't know if the fur collar would have gotten in the way or added just a fun tactile element to it.

It's actually Sokka, and that is the name of the character Jackson will be playing in The Last Airbender. My daughter got me into the cartoons and I love the series. You should check it out before the movie comes out. The movie will be based off of Book 1: Water (season 1 of the show).

Sokka is the comedic relief in the show – can't wait to say Jackson as Sokka – he's going to be great!!

I'm trying to remain positive. From what I can tell, they've done some good casting and since the creators of Avatar: The Last Airbender are executive producing, I think it will be good. Granted, I'm going to have to wait and see, but I'm trying to keep an open mind. Who knows?

I'm okay with the kid they chose for Aang but it took a while… All of the promo shots they have of him and in none of them is he smiling! That's quintessential to Aang; he's just a fun loving kid. I found a picture of the kid out of character and he was smiling, so I feel a bit better about it.
Yes, M. Night Shyamalan -who directed The Happening- is directing. He also directed The Sixth Sense, Signs, Unbreakable, The Village, etc. He's not new to the game, that's for sure. Granted he has had some slip ups (Lady in the Water, for instance) but I'm giving this a chance. This is the first project that he's doing that he didn't concieve almost entirely on his own and he has the creators helping him. I'm excited.

Yeah, the first teaser trailer they put out,I couldn't decide whether to take it seriously or not. I thought it was a little…corny? That's not really the word I'm looking for…but anyways, I can't wait to see the actual trailer. You can never tell from the teasers.

Oh you should though! The storyline itself is pretty much like Pocahontas, but the graphics are amazing. I'm sure you've heard that a bajillion times already. But seriously. See it in theaters while you can. I've seen it twice. I'm so seeing The Last Airbender like 5 times though.
