LMAO! Hopefully she will deliver for you. Personally, i like any and all of Dakota films, the girl can act, so i think it will be good. But Kristen definately looks the part. She IS Joan Jett and she acts like Joan (from what I've seen on trailers) so, we'll see.

Crimson and Clover was a JJ song, not The Runaways but I guess they used it in the film because JJ is singing to a female, so it is fitting.

I do understand that but only to a point. But as an actress she should be able to overcome that for a role.

(a perfect example… Tom Cruise in his early years… He has dyslexia and stuttered as a result. Watch any of his early films. Not unless the role called for it does he stutter. He started acting fairly young. His teens I believe. And I am sorry but it just is not possible that EVERY role she takes calls for stuttering)

I am trying to find a local theater that will be showing it. So I can form my own opinion about the movie, her performance and maybe reform my opinion about her acting skills.

I will keep everyone posted on that if you all really give a rats a$$ about my opinion (because it is my own and not influenced by others or their opinions though I respect that everyone has their own opinions). LOL. CF and I have fun going back and forth on different topics and I am enjoying N.L.. Not sure you and I have spoken before. Ur avi is not familiar at all. Have we spoken before?

Would like to know your opinion. But I dont live in the US so I wont be able to watch and dispute. But Kristen convinced me already that she is wonderful.
I understand fidgety and neurotic but she has a crystalline quality about what she wants to communicate. She is not a performer,not an entertainer, she didnt need to create a person totally different to what she is yet. I think people have more problems with her because they didnt see much departure. But I see a tremendous amount of versatility and potential in her.

Yes she is an entertainer/performer that is was an actress is (Direct from wiki, “An actor or actress (see terminology) is a person who acts in a dramatic production and who works in film, television, theatre, or radio in that capacity.[1] The ancient Greek word for an “actor,” ὑποκριτής (hypokrites), means literally “one who interprets”;[2] in this sense, an actor is one who interprets a dramatic character.[3]“) She has yet to actually take on a role and ACT other than who/what she is. That is not acting – that is reading lines.

As for not much departure… In cake Eaters she portrays a girl with a terminal illness that ravages her body. Is that real life for KS (It wasn't last time I checked but if I am wrong, let me know. Micheal J Fox continues to act and is doing roles now of people with disabilities)? If she does not have a terminal illness wouldn't that be classed as departure? So Joan Jett would not be her first departure roll by any stretch of imagination. In Zathura she plays an irresponsible older sister – yet she is the youngest in her family so again this is departure from WHO she really is. Yet there has been diversity in HOW she portrays these very different roles.

I am waiting for and looking for “tremendous amount of versatility and potential in her” in every movie of hers that I watch.

She wasnt a girl that prepared speeches accepting her academy award with a shampoo bottle as the oscar, nor did she cite a dramatic monologue to her teddy bears and dolls. Kristen wasnt a girl that desired the spotlight and rounds of applause. Thus I think she refused to stretch herself…until recently.
There is definitely a good future ahead of her.

Anyone who wants to act in movies needs to be able to actually act…

I am hoping she is able to that (thus far I am going with no as there has been no departure in HOW she acts). She is a cute kid but has yet to prove she has acting chops like Robert (whom I also do mot like but respect as an actor) and Dakota (whom I love). Yes, Taylor is still proving himself too (though he was cute in Cheaper by the Dozen 2).

Wow! That stare and the facial expression. I'm sorry, but that is NOT Kristen Stewart! That is Joan Jett! It's as if they switch souls for a second there!
That death stare is PERFECT!! It's a much better stare than the one in the poster she had with Dakota Fanning!
And Dakota, you just kicked Miley Cyrus' a$$ with that picture !
The fact that Dakota gets away with such provocative pose and Miley Cyrus didn't (in that magazine photoshoot scandal)is amazing.

Speaking of first female rock stars: what a coincidence, I just watched a Cold Case episode about female fighting against men so that they can vote.
I bet this movie is going to stir up the ideas of gender equalities again.
