Don't worry. This movie is only the first season. There are planned sequels for the second and third seasons (there are only 3 seasons). Suki is in this movie so no worries about that. Why was Dev Patel cast as Zuko? Because he's a good actor. Even if he isn't what you thought Zuko would look like, I think very few people can deny that he's got chops. Don't be worried; I'm sure everything will work out just fine.

I don't know if it's just me, but when I saw it, it reminded me of Lord of the Rings.
I know it's a completely different story, but the scenery is just sweeping like in LOR and it's also a fight between good and evil like LOR.

My boys and I would go see LOR every year the first day it came out, since it was always at the start of Winter Break here in Texas. We always absolutely loved it and it looks like we're gonna' love this, too!

Lol I wanted to ask something to those fans who saw the last episode where Aang and Katara kissed. Did you guys like how it ended, in other words that Katana ends up with Aang?. I dk, but I was hoping that she would've ended up with Suko, since he becomes the nice guy towards the end. Also since she's water and he's fire, I see an attraction towards opposites. I think they would've made a cute couple. What do you guys think? lol Zutara FTW lol

Never heard of the Avatar series until knowing about Jackson playing Sokka, but after that I did some research, saw the teaser/Superbowl spot/and now this one and darn it if come July 2nd I won't be in line at the movies! I was a little apprehensive about this movie when I first saw that they would be making it as a movie. I like Shamalayn (sorry bout the spelling) but he last few movies haven't been at his usual awesomeness. But now that I see the actors that are involved it seems like it will be banging…Jackson Rathbone is great and all but from what I can see in the trailer they have other amazing actors too.

My a** will be in a theater seat for this movie….definitely not one to wait for in the redbox marquee

IT PWNS but the last ever episode had me in fits, I was toootally unable to handle the sheer AWSOMENESS of aang's pwnage of the fire lord, when he landled all the 4 elements and energy bended I was having a total spaz attack

I know I'm late on this – I've been stuck on ff and haven't been around lately, LOL. But I had to reply to you and spread the awesomeness of this series/movie. My 12 year old daughter got me hooked on the cartoon (Avatar: The Last Airbender) after I told her cartoons in my day were much better and I felt like I lost some IQ points after watching most of hers. Well, she made me sit down and watch the last episode with her and I was hooked.

I then bought all three seasons on dvd and watched them in order. It is a great story! I also love M Night Shyamalan (Sixth Sense) and he decided to make the movie after his daughter got him hooked. I'm really excited about this movie!!

This will be the first of the trilogy. The cartoon was three seasons – Water, Earth, and Fire. It looks like they've made it much more serious, being a movie that they want to attract a larger audience to. 'Chinese tattoo man' is Aang, who isn't really Chinese, he's a 12 year old boy that's happy-go-lucky most of the time, but also has the huge pressure of having to save the world. This is a mythical world made up of the four nations water, earth, fire, and air (of which Aang is the last airbender).

Anyway, it's really good and I would recommend at least renting season 1, of course then you will be hooked!

Adding to what auna said, it is Aang (that's 'little guy's' name) going into the Avatar state. You should rent the cartoon, season 1 – that is what the movie is based on. Avatar, The Last Airbender, Book 1: Water.

It's going to be a trilogy. This will be Water, 2012 they will release Earth, and 2014 will be Fire. Don't worry, M Knight is doing this right.

BTW – the guy who does Zuko's voice is almost 35, don't think that would work when he's supposed to be a teenager. I'm all for movies casting the character as close to the description of the original, but it's more important to have them find someone close who can nail the part. Taylor put on some muscle, but he is nowhere near 6' 7″ like Jacob – but he nailed the part.

My daughter said the same thing about the voice of Aang, that he looks just like him. The thing that is so easy to forget is that kids grow up. Zach Tyler (Aang's voice) is 17 now – the last movie will be complete in 2014. I don't know about them not being 'allowed' but it just wouldn't make sense for the younger characters to be played by the original voices.

So far, I think they've done a great job casting. The trailer looks great – I'm so excited!!

Aang and Katara just made sense. There is foreshadowing of their love throughout the whole series. Remember the fortune teller who told Katara she would fall in love with a powerful bender, then she realizes it's Aang? Plus, if you think about what would happen after Aang saves the world, once he passes on, being the last air bender, how will the cycle continue? I don't remember the order, but in about 4 avatars there needs to be another airbender. Who better to make more air benders than Aang and Katara, a powerful waterbender? They should make lots of babies – maybe some will be air and some will be water – maybe even a combo! That would be interesting.

I really can't remember what happens with Zuko and May, but I do know she saved him when they were escaping the Burning Rock, so I think she still loves him. I'm in the middle of season 3 right now, but I've seen most of the episodes a while back. I think it should still be Zuko and May. Katara and Aang belong together.

I have always wondered about Toph, though. It seems like she had a crush on Jackson, but he's obviously got Suki. Who does Toph get her happily ever after with? Wow, I'm reading way too much into all of this – Toph was what, 12-13 during the series? Get a life Shannon!

Okay this really makes me mad, Most of you guys who are “so excited” about this movie, how many of you have actually SEEN the actual series? I mean honestly. If your going to see the movie, don't just go see it because The “oh-so-hot” Jackson Rathbone is in it. Go see it because you like the series and you want to go see how it'll look in theaters. Now, I won't be surprised if this next comment gets a lot of hate….
Jackson Rathbone does NOT make a good Sokka. I'm sorry fan girls, he doesn't. At Katara and Aang looks somewhat like they do in the tv show, but Sokka looks nothing alike. And Yue does NOT HAVE PINK HAIR she has white hair because the moon spirit saved her as a child and she is part of the moon spirit.

Yeah…I know it's correct to say “narrator voice”..It's just sounds more poetic that way…U know, like u say 'voice of the ocean' instead of 'ocean voice'…That was not the case, of course, but I was too lazy to change it… Anyway, so u say that's kind of a standard voice? I guess i was thinking of the famous trailer voice-over guy, Don LaFontaine, then you got me curious and I did some research. He actually died in 2008, but he really was something of a legend and now most voice actors who do trailers kind of copy his style. I really don't know who the narrator is for this and I couldn't find a Transformer trailer with a narrator to compare.

BTW – I wasn't correcting you or anything. I don't think it matters whether you say voice of the narrator or narrator voice.

oh..didn't u see 'Transformers'? Peter Cullen does Optimus Prime which is also the narrator, but I searched on imdb and he's not doing 'The last Airbender'
