Eclipse stars Nikki Reed and Elizabeth Reaser were seen in Vancouver having a blast this weekend together.

Lainey Gossip has all the Punkd pics, as well as some exclusive details on what was being filmed Friday on the set–

Indeed I’m told exclusively that Xavier was on set on Friday night in New Westminister for a scene involving “Riley” trying to rein in his misbehaving newborn children, oblivious to certain members of the Volturi, led by Dakota Fanning’s “Jane” and her companion “Alec” who were silently observing.

Remember in the book though that the Volturi shows up conveniently late. As in, they were hoping some of the Cullens may have been taken out by some of the newborns. It kinds makes sense.

i dont get it though you know since dakota is suppose to be involved in the post-fight scene. so is she coming back to film. or are they doing it so that it looks like everyone is on the field even though it was filmed in two parts.

i think they are not seen together is cause kstew is trying to hide away from the cameras and from the attention and is just staying in a hotel or something and sneaks to film when she's needed

That's a different part of the book, though. But I think I get what you mean; maybe the Volturi aren't doing any thing about the newborns because they want them to kill some Cullens. Is that what you meant?

dakota is not done with Eclipse yet…the volturi are gonna back nd do the fanaly at the end….Jodelle said she starts filming sometime next month….so the volturi ave to be back to kill her at the opening!!!!…i think there filming the dream sequences like jasper's part, and victoria and the newborns being created…..but Rob and Ashley were on set too this week for one night only but am not sure wat they were filming….

It is just me or does anyone else think they could actually be related in this shot? It's probably just the hair and sunglasses. Hope Eclipse filming is going well for the whole cast and hope they are having fun doing it as well.

thats pretty much exactly right, i just finished re-reading the book again, and it was a theory, but it was a pretty darn good theory if you ask me, they showed up like 30 min after the newborns were killed….

Yeah, but maybe they ere just a small group sent to observe what was going on. If it was a big problem they would have to send for reinforcements. The Volturi is not going to bring their whole crew without first observing the problem. In a small group they might have a problem defeating the newborns (as newborns are generally alot stronger)

Yea… like in the movie maybe they are just observing to see the newborns and learning of the plan that they are going to attack the Cullens. Because then in the book on page 563 after the big fight Edward says”… they seem to have timed their arrival very carefully. Which leads me to believe that no one in Italy would mourn if these newborns had reduced the size of the Cullen family.” Then later on page 577 Edward says to Jane “… It's a shame you didn't arrive just a half hour earlier. Perhaps then you could have fulfilled your purpose here.” Then Jane says “Yes. Quite a pity how things turned out, isn't it?” Then the book says that Edward nodded once to himself, his supicions confirmed. So they must have thrown in that extra seen to show us that the Volturi did indeed know what was up with the newborns. What do you think?

I SO agree!! There are SO MANY good scenes from the book that NEED to be in the movie. I hope they don't skimp on other parts because they've added stuff like this.

Yes….we have some negative-nellys already getting stirred up with the new scenes complaining about them…it's nice to here someone else super excited about them. I do want them to follow the books closely but I'm not one of those people that are going to be upset if everything isn't in BELLA'S point of view. I think it opens up more possibilities and could probably be better from ALL points of view. I'm super geeked about this Volturi news. Sounds like the Volturi will have a bigger role in the movie than in the book…which I think is cool. Lets face it…the people making this movie are not going to include all the sappy lovey-dovey dialogue from the book or the movie would be slow, they are going to “Vamp” it up (pun intended)!

LOL Nice job on the pun! I totally agree with you. Opening it up to include scenes that aren't stricly from Bella's perspective will only serve to enhance the movie and give us more time with some of the other characters we love (or love to hate, as is the case with some of the Volturi.) I'm excited to see more of the newborns, as well. Since Bella wasn't there to fight them, we didn't “see” any direct interaction with them. I think that this scene with Riley trying to wrangle them will help build the tension for the fight scene even more!

That makes perfect sense! My immediate reaction was that they wouldn't possibly have let it go on if they saw first hand what was happening, but I forgot about Edward and Jane's little exchange. And in the book, I don't think Alice knew til that morning that the Volturi would become involved, so it makes sense that in the film she wouldn't see it coming either, since she has so many things she's watching for.

I have to go read the book again but I thought they did know. Because when the Cullen were taking about it they said the Voturi should have already taking them out and they were thinking that they knew about it already and wanted the newborns to take out the Cullens. That's why when Jane shows up late after the Cullens and wolves killed all the newborn Edward said something like, 'yes it's a shame you didn't arrive just a half hour earlier, perhaps you could have fulfilled your purpose here' Then Jame said' Yes, it's quite a pity on how things turn out isn't it'. Then Edward nods to himself because his suspicions our confirmed.

That's what I was saying. The Cullens knew something was up because the Volturi never took that long to do their jobs. And when Jane show up late and Edward tells her 'it's too bad she didn't come 30 minutes sooner' she saying 'it's a shame how things turn out' Then he nods to himself because his suspicions were confirmed.

I think there is a lot to the story we still don't know. Stephenie Meyer helped out a lot with the screenwritter for Ecplise so I'm sure that was what really happened but we didn't know because the book is just from Bella's point of view.
