It’s official casting has been completed for the upcoming Uma Thurman/Robert Pattison flick Bel Ami.

Principal photography on BEL AMI is to start on February 7^th 2010, shooting on locations in London and Budapest.

Robert Pattinson (Twilight series, Remember Me) plays Georges Duroy in this erotically charged story of ambition, power and seduction. Uma Thurman (Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill) is Madeleine, Kristin Scott Thomas (Nowhere Boy, I’ve Loved You So Long)is Virginie, Christina Ricci (Monster, The Ice Storm)is Clotilde, Holly Grainger (Scouting Book for Boys)is Suzanne, Philip Glenister (Life on Mars, Calendar Girls) is Charles, and Colm Meaney (The Damned United, The Snapper) plays Duroy’s adversary, Rousset. The screenplay is written by Rachel Bennette from the novel by Guy de Maupassant, and the film is directed by the influential and innovative Cheek By Jowl directors Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod.

BEL AMI is the story of Georges Duroy, who travels through 1890s Paris, from cockroach ridden garrets to opulent salons, using his wits and powers of seduction to rise from poverty to wealth, from a prostitute’s embrace to passionate trysts with wealthy beauties, in a world where politics and media jostle for influence, where sex is power and celebrity an obsession.

Besides RPatz, there are truly some great actors in this movie. I can’t wait to see this film, it will be like waiting for all 3 Twi movies all over again.

This is the one I am truly excited about. For Robert it could be the film that finally elevates him to “serious actor” status and ridds him of the “tween idol” image which, unless quickly shed, could prove destructive for his career. I am praying that Robert delivers a fantastic performance since this role is a true departure from the “brooding beauty” characters he has thus far portrayed. Duroy's slyness, moral depravity and ruthless ambition will be interesting to watch as embodies by Robert. I know he will do incredibly well and with an all-star cast of some truly brilliant actors and actresses, Bel Ami promises to put Robert Pattinson on the map as an acting force to be reckoned with!!!

Ok I'm loving the sound of the movie. The cast looks great. Rob is making a good move but I have to admit Uma gives me the shivers. There is something about that girl that's just disturbing. Is it just me? Does she creep anyone else out?…UGh….I really don't want Rob around her. Is that weird?

Besides the fact that Robert will be just incredibly sexy on this movie… yeah it is possible…. I want to see his acting skills next to more experience actors and actresses. I know he could do a great job though…. If you have watched little ashes, you know Rob could play this character….

Remember during the filming of Remember Me we were luck to get a shot of happy Rob? My guess is that he was missing KStew, BUT that's just me. Now they will be even farther apart :/

Georges also has some really 'sensitive' and 'caring' moments as well. It's such a multi-faceted character, that this part can really blow the door wide open for Rob.

I know! thus far all Rob's movies have been based on books, The Haunted Airman, Harry Potter, Twilight, Bel-Ami, and Water for Elephants, maybe libraries should carry the Robert Pattinson editions. Heck the new book covers should have Rob on them.
