Robert Pattinson Teaming Up With David Slade For Daredevil Role?

*Rumour Alert* I thought I’d put that out there before we proceed….

So rumour has it that Robert Pattinson is teaming up with David Slade for a role in his new movie Daredevil!

Robert Pattinson As Daredevil Rumors Surface; Said To Be Similar In Tone To Batman Begins!

Apparently, there’s some “talk” that the Twilight actor is being looked at to reteam with David Slade on Daredevil, while new details on the tone and story have also emerged…

“The West Hollywood Resnorter” over at Moviehole has a very interesting piece up about David Slade’s planned Daredevil movie (said to be a continuation, rather than a reboot) but two things in particular caught my eye.. The first, is the revelation that the movie will be similar in tone to Batman Begins, while the mention of a bad guy trying to destroy Daredevil certaintly fits in with the rumor that they’re thinking of basing it on Frank Miller’s “Born Again” series.

Slade’s pitch, I’m told, is said to be a “close cousin” of some of the other superhero movies out there in the market place (I believe he’s referring to films like “Thor” and “Captain America” which are bright, boisterous blockbuster types that skip on the gloom and go straight to the boom!) – which shouldn’t surprise anyone. “It’s a bit Batman Begins. The bad guy will learn who Daredevil really is and tries to destroy him – but not via the usual methods.”

Second, was the mention of there being “talk” about Twilight’s Robert Pattinson being linked to the role. Seeing as he’s worked with Slade before and is rather popular with a certain demographic, it’s not hard to believe that he’d be considered (and there is something of a resemblence) but as we’re talking about the guy who directed 30 Days Of Night and a character like Matt Murdock, I don’t see it happenning!

And yes, with David Slade given the job, there’s “some kind of talk” about Robert Pattinson – who, with the “Twilight” series winding up, is going to be looking for a new well-paying gig – playing the part of Matt Murdock – – -which, I have to say, I don’t dislike the idea of.

I want Robert to do every kind of movie possible!

So far we’ve got: An Airman, Geek, Artist, Vampire, Troubled Son, Veterinarian, Caniving Journalist, Arrogant Bachelor and Kidnapped by Cherokees. Throw in a Superhero Daredevil???

I’ve always thought Edward was a superhero. So thats a nay for me.

I would love to see him do something with Anne Hathaway or Rachel McAdams. Although he could pull of the roll of a Daredevil. Hes that good.

Um can’t see it myself….they don’t mention the fact that Rob will be starting *Cosmopolis* after WFE promo’s…

I would love to see Rob in anything! ……except red tights! I don’t see him as the “superhero” type and he has other things lined up anyway

First off…. I’m SO excited! Daredevil was my favorite superhero movie EVER! Gosh, I’ve been dying for a sequel (Elektra does not count). I hope that the movie at least comes out (even if the David and Rob thing is a rumor).

Though I love Rob, and wouldn’t mind him as Daredevil, I have to say I’ll always imagine Ben Affleck for the role. If the can get him again, they should. But if he won’t do the movie, Rob’s a fantastic choice. I can really see it. He’d do a great job for one of my fav movies. He really does look like Matt. LOL

Can’t wait to see where this all goes.

He’s already a superhero to me…so I’d love to see him in this role. It would be quite different from his previous roles, but I think it would great to see him in such a different kind of movie role. Added bonus would be if he wore some nice tights!

Every single celeberty does something in acting that is a bad idea. I don’t think Rob should take this role. It just isn’t something that fits him, and I mean that in a good way. I just imagine him a that red uniform, I think it’s spandex?, and cringe. Please don’t take the role Rob.
