Below is the exclusive debut of the final poster for The Runaways, featuring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning as rock and roll icons Joan Jett and Cherie Currie during their formative years in ’70s rock band The Runaways. We’ve actually seen this image before as a previously released still, but, what the heck, it definitely holds up as a poster image of two young, tough and no-bull rocker girls. The film’s already been well received at this year’s Sundance Film Fest…everyone else will be able to see it in limited release on March 19th, and in wide release on April 9th. What do you think? Game to see K-Stew flex her acting chops in a role that’s pretty far removed from Twilight?

ok, March 19= Limited Release and April 9th=Wide Release….why isnt the open date April 9th then because limited release roughly translates into coming to 1 theater in MAJOR cites like New York and LA. Well Poopy! well, i do live in DC so i might get lucky but i doubt it.

Yeah, it's totally Cherie Currie's story. Joan Jett is a supporting character. I was very surprised at that when I read the script.

The Runaways will only be premiering in the following cities/provinces on March 19th:
Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, Phoenix, Seattle, Minneapolis, Austin, San Fransico, Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal
So if you thought you were going to see this movie on March 19 and don't live in one of the above citites (or close) you may want to reconsider your plans and either go to one of these citites or wait until April 9th when it opens in the rest of the theatres.
I am going to NY so I can watch this movie opening weekend because I just cannot wait until April! If anyone else is interested please reply and maybe we can hook up for the movie then hit a midnight release party.
