With several sneak peaks and with the official trailer that was unveiled a couple of weeks ago, twihards all over are scrutinizing every little detail. And this time it was Edward Cullen that was spotted…with red eyes!
Team Twilightcaught onto the fact that the clip featured a flash of Edward Cullen with red eyes. A closer inspection of the image reveals that he is not only red-eyed but also apparently wearing a Volturi crest necklace much like those worn in New Moonby Michael Sheen, Jamie Campbell Bower, et al.
A commentator to the blog scoured the book to find that there is a sequence in the story on Page 305 that might explain the origin of the moment.
“In Aro’s head he saw me at his one side and Alice at his other,” Edward Cullen says.
It may be a flash imagination of the thought like we saw in New Moonwith Alice’s “vision” of Bella as a vampire. Though, Michael Sheen (who portrays Aro) isn’t listed on any Eclipse cast list that I’ve seen . . . It’s still entirely possible that the scene went through without him here. Only time will tell.

I like the idea that they are sticking to the movie. But WHY does EDWARD and ALICE have to have RED EYES!!!!! They are great beings and would NEVER feed on a human. especially with Carlisle around, they love him to much for that big of a betrayal.

Since at first, they thought the intruder that came to Bella's room was one of the Volturi guard (Eclipse chapter 9). It's the scene where Edward told his family about what was going on through Aro's mind when they were in Italy (that Aro wants Alice & Edward to join him).
I think it would be interesting to see that thought in the movie. I also think seeing Rose take revenge on her fiance with red eyes would be the right way to go to. AND lets not forget the Jasper story – RED EYES there too… Carlise, Emmett, and Esme are the only ones that should be red eye free this movie…
If it's for the vision of Alice & Edward standing next to Aro, that I can understand. I just hope this scene doesn't turn out as horrible as the frolic in the woods scene from New Moon.

About the venom-sucking, yes, he probably sucks some of Bella's blood, but maybe the amount of blood isn't enough to turn his eyes red. Besides, Bella passes out for a while, so by the time she wakes up Edward already has the golden eyes back.
About changing Bella into a vampire, Edward only bites Bella, so he doesn't drink her blood. Again, if he does, I will again say that perhaps the amount of blood isn't enough for his eyes to change color.

Question- The walmart bonus edition dvd that has the Eclipse footage on it…does it also have all the deleted and extended scenes, or is it basically just the 2 disc plus the eclipse footage? I got the walmart 2 disc special editon and was disappointed to find nothing extra basically except the documentary! i NEED those deleted scenes! I am torn between the target 3 disc edition and the walmart edition with eclipse. Any suggestions?

I thin k there is a lot of issues with MR's adaption of the stories to the movies.
BUT just as a fact all newborns have red eyes for a year AND Edward did leave Carlise for a year. So it is mentioned (but that's it – no stories about that part of Eddie's life) The rest (the pic we see for example) is all MR's imagination.

Deleted scenes are on the Target disk. Walmart has the Eclipse footage. I got the target edition. You can find the Eclipse on youtube or somewhere on the web.

It doesn't have to be entirely graphic. They will have to show something of that nature, considering it's Bella's first hunt and she has not been doing it as long as Edward. He never has a drop of blood on him, and I'm hoping they show the difference between being around for a hundred years compared to a newborn and it's hunger and unpredictability.

I noticed that, too. I am going to guess, and i am probably wrong, but it might be a “flashback” of to when edward was telling bella about his 10 years of rebellion. When he was not living with carlisle. He went off and did his own thing. He lived off of people and not animals, but only bad people. I am not sure what book that he said this, but i believe it was in eclipse. so yeah i dont know… just a guess..
I don't think I would want a “high grade” director unless they really were doing it for the love and passion of it…..not just because it is a franchise now.
