And the Twilight ball keeps right on rolling. Yen Press will be releasing an amazing graphic novel featuring Twilight. Entertainment Weekly had a chance to speak the The Twilight Saga creator, Stephenie Meyer.

The text of your original novel is boiled down so carefully that it doesn’t feel like anything is missing. Were you the one who did that?

I was definitely involved. I didn’t do the original “script” for the book, so to speak. But when I got the dialogue with the images, I did a lot of tinkering. In a couple of places, I asked for missing scenes to be inserted. For example, the conversation in the car that Bella and Edward have after she faints in Biology.

How does the feeling of reading the graphic novel compare to that of reading the original? Does it bring something new to the experience for you?

For me, it takes me back to the days when I was writing Twilight. It’s been a while since I was really able to read Twilight; there is so much baggage attached to that book for me now. It seems like all I can see are the mistakes in the writing. Reading Young’s version brought me back to the feeling I had when I was writing and it was just me and the characters again. I love that. I thank her for it.

When this project is done, are you done with Twilight?

I can’t say that I am done with Twilight forever. I’m not working on anything new Twilight-related now, and probably not for a while. But there’s still a possibility that I’ll go back and close some of the open doors.

What do you think, Twihards? Are you excited about this?

I cannot wait to get my hands on these, but there will only be 350,000 copies so how will this work? Will we have to camp outside Barnes & Noble?(because you know I will lol) And I firmly believe Stephenie Meyer will complete Midnight Sun at some stage, she wouldn’t just not finish it, she doesn’t strike me as the type to leave any stone unturned, so we will have to do what we do best…hurry up and wait.

I wouldn't worry on ew.com it clearly states that “Yen Press will publish Twilight: The Graphic Novel, Vol. 1 on March 16, with a first printing of 350,000 copies”
It doesn't say it will “Only” print 350,000 copies. =)

I hope she finishes Midnight Sun! I love Breaking Dawn, but it feels like its missing something. Like what happens between Jacob and Renesmee?? And just what happens to everyone? I would love to know, I have my own little fantasies but they aren't any good. *grins sheepishly*

I refuse to believe that Stephenie will just leave Midnight Sun unfinished! If it was me, I would keep writing and never stop.

What will we do after Breaking Dawn's movie comes out…. it can't be the end to the saga. * sadly wipes tear from eye*

the graphic novel looks cool, but i won't get it. not into the comics and now that Kristen and Rob are framed into my mind as Bella and Edward the images don't really look like them and I don't like it. lol

I'd faint from sheer excitment if Stephenie did more Twilight books. She did leave alot open to continue on with. My girlfriend wrote a 5th book on some of the open topics, so maybe that's why she hasn't heard back about it? I'll have to tell her about this site so she knows that even though nothing will happen with hers, at least there's a possiblity that more is coming. She'll be thrilled, of course. Who wouldn't be? We love Twilight!!!

I still believe that Stephenie will do MS. It's her 'baby' from Edward's POV. Who wouldn't want to keep writing Edward Cullen? Yeah!! (with crossed fingers)

If you want to share a FF, you can ask for their e-mail address & send it directly. That's what we did with WA, HOFY & EP. Oh and we can't mention the full name of a FF story as well.

I'm all for self pimping FF's but we can't post links. What I did was changed my authors name on FF.net to match my NMM.org / EM.org user name. That way if someone wants to find my story, it's easy for then to find me in an authors search. That or if someone wants the link, they can post their e-mail address & you can e-mail them the link. The mods will go in & delete the addy but you can find it in your Disqus replies.

According to SM's website Twilight: The Graphic Novel will be in 2 volumes, due to the length of the original book. There is no date on the 2nd volume.

That is all that is posted, but my guess is that they are going to do the entire Saga. It only makes sense to the fans and to their pockets – they are going to milk it for all it's worth – and I'm going to help them by buying them all!!

ps – I just pre-ordered mine on Amazon… when you pre-order they drastically discount the price

I'm really excited about the Graphic novels. I already pre-ordered mine on Amazon (at a discounted price). I haven't really been into graphic novels before but I have two hopes with this coming. One, that I can re-live Twilight in a new way – I think this will be a visual way of seeing the story much closer to the original than the movie could ever hope to be. Two, since my daughter is into graphic novels, that she will read them and maybe even want to read the novels, too.

As for Midnight Sun, of course I would like it finished, but since SM answered fan's questions about NM a few months ago I have been put at ease. I know she will finish it when she is ready and I will have it on pre-order as soon as it is announced. I would rather she write when she feels Edward speaking to her than because us fans are yelling at her. Until then I will enjoy re-reads and anything else SM decides to write. Looking forward to more of The Host.

okay new theory, they are taking so long with a BD release date and getting everyone signed on because they are also talking to SM about writing more books so they aare waiting to get her to do that and then getting the actors to sign on for more than just BD!

You can pre-order it on Amazon. You get the lowest pre-order price, they have excellent shipping, and you don't have to worry about them running out at the store before you can get there to buy it. I did. Very simple. I get a lot of my books, DVDs, Twilight stuff there.
