Ashley Greene (aka Alice Cullen) and Kellan Lutz (aka Emmett Cullen) were disputing the amount originally offered for Breaking Dawn Part 2 (aka Twilight 5).

Here is the update from THR -

What are the secondary characters in a blockbuster franchise worth? That’s always a tricky question, and especially here, where fans have such a close connection to the material and have come to associate the actors with their parts. On the other hand, “New Moon” certainly didn’t suffer at the boxoffice when Victoria (Rachel Lefevre) was recast after the first movie for playing hardball, despite initial fan grumbling when the axe fell.

A couple of interesting wrinkles in the negotiation: While lead actors Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner all re-did their deals for huge raises after the first “Twilight” hit big (and are said to be close to deals for No. 4 and 5), Summit did not offer to renegotiate with the Cullens. So their pay for the first three movies has been very low, which would explain them wanting to cash in on “Breaking Dawn.”Also, while the Cullen kids don’t play a huge role in the second or third books, they’re both in “Breaking Dawn” a lot more. That fact is said to be fueling the demands, though Summit won’t lock the script for the final movies until it’s a 100% done deal there will be two, so parts could still be minimized or beefed up.

Neither side expects a speedy resolution. Summit wants to move quickly but isn’t afraid to recast. Reps for the actors want to make a deal but don’t understand why the studio won’t take care of the actors in a franchise that has generated more than $1 billion.

While fans might miss the secondary characters, we doubt Summit’s boxoffice take would suffer if the Cullens are recast. Would it?

I’m reporting on this Breaking Dawn news, because it is indeed news. But I’m not going to worry about it. I want to ENJOY Eclipse and be happy that this time next month — we will be FULL force in Eclipse promotional hoopla. And I am excited for that. I am also excited for tomorrow .. and especially Saturday as EM.org will have a little treat for our readers ..Bringing back some old school fun around here .. but I’ll tell you more about that later

I certainly do hope that Ashley and Kellan can work something out with Summit Entertainment. I do not want to see any one recast.

I also think that considering they'll probably be filming the movie altogether (like they're doing for HP7) then technically they're only DOING 1 movie, and thus being payed for that amount. The fact they're going to split it into two so they get the depth of the story doesn't merit a pay rise. Sure they may need to do more publicity, and sure they may only work a certain amount in relation to actual filming but hey, it's the job (and in my understanding is what's required from all in the business).

At the same time, if summit are going to be stupid enough to hire new actors for half of the film is utter BULL! That's bad marketing and negotiating right there, not to mention the scores of hatred they'll receive. Both actors and Summit are in the wrong somehow and need to get it straight…

IMO I think they're just tryna call each other's bluff…it'll be stink to see it end bad tho =(

OK I can tell you read the article but am i the only one that read the holy trinity HAS NOT ACTUALLY SIGNED YET???? So if they backed up their fellow actors Summit WOULD HAVE TO CAVE! BEcause Summit sure as HELL can not do Breaking Dawn if they have to recast Bella, Edward, Jake, Alice, Emmit, and Jackson…

I won't be at opening night of Eclipse. I really think that everyone should seriously consider what message we as fans are sending by going to opening night. Especially in lite of the fact that according to this article Kristen, Taylor, Robert, Jackson, Kellan, and Ashley have not signed on yet to Breaking Dawn.

We have the opportunity to let Summit know that because they let Rachel go over 1 overlapping non-filming day – we as fans will not sit by and continue to support their franchise without our voices being heard.

If we all did not go to opening day that message would be clear.

I also want to mention that I have been a fan since before either of MR pieces of poo were released. I am a fan of the books. My opinion – the movies are crap thanks to MR's crappy screen writing skills. I go and watch because I love the story itself and (most) of the actors in the films.

In my opinion you are not a supportive fan. A fan would support the actors and see their side. These people are not paid for JUST THE MOVIE but the also for so many fan events like Twicon. AND we the fans pay for that every time we buy a bookmark, a twicon ticket a movie ticket, etc. So if you have bought ANYTHING other than the ORIGINAL books (the ones without bella/edward/jacob on the covers) then you have put BIG $$ into Summits pocket. Summit has consistantly changed our beloved saga. Thinking that no matter what they do we will still flock to the theaters like sheep. Think of all the things left out and changed so far and we've only seen 2 films and part of Eclipse (Bella and Jake on Bike in front of E). If we don't make a statement now just imagine what BD may turn out to be. Yes Ashley and Kellan need to get over it, these movies have made them, correction OUR money made Scummit and them. Let opening night ride without us and just go see it during Sat matinee. That is what i plan to do.

My school has 4500+ students and 1200+ of them are admit and confirmed “TWIFANS”. 954 of them including myself have signed a boycott of 10 days June 29 to July 9 we will not support ANYTHING Eclipse related or Summit product. The list is growing by the minute. 954 people is a lot they are ALL TWIHARDS too. 954 times the average ticket price of 10 dollars is 9540 but given into account that most of them saw Twilight and NM multiple in that first weeks estimate lost was 95400 or more.

Summit often kills my twi-high.
Why?
Because they are so f**king cocky that they KNOW they can replace a character of the cullen family and still make an income.
I know that if they do that, I will not be seeing Breaking Dawn.
No matter how obsessed I am with the series, I will not be able to watch BD and not see that Cullen members face.

It will be hard enough to see BDH.

i think the characters Alice and Emmett are a big deal. u cant recast now. just give them their damn money. the twilight saga is bringing in millions and millions of dollars. it will be a big deal if you try to recast them because they r the perfect fit for the roles..especially emmett. we've grown to love these characters and changing them for the last movie is just stupid. if u were going to change them u should have changed them in new moon no later than that. i say give them the amount of money that is close to what they are asking for and get it over with. these characters and the actors who play them have a huge fan base. they make twilight as well, not just edward bella and jacob. u can replace them now. it makes no sense. its stupid.

Summit – I have two words for you – negotiate fairly. For crying out loud Summit, you would not be rolling in Billions of dollars if it wasn't for Stephenie Meyer's books. Also, Summit, all the merchandise that is sold at Hot Topic with your name on it is bringing in quite a huge sum of money as well. It's the old rule, you can't give one kid an ice cream cone without giving the entire class ice cream cones. So start dishing it out Summit or else you've lost me as a fan. I can always re-read the books and be just as satisfied.
