Xavier Samuel aka Riley in Twilight Saga: Eclipse is featured on Elle.com as the next hunky heartthrob to hit us from the saga:

WHO: Xavier Samuel

AGE: 26

HOMETOWN: Adelaide, Australia

BONA FIDES: A 2005 graduate of Flinders University Drama Centre program in Adelaide (taking on Hamlet at his graduate performance); a major role in Australian films every year since.

WHY NOW: He’s been newly minted as the “hot” vampire in the wildly popular Twilight franchise, making his debut in its third installment, Eclipse, due out this summer. Rumored to have beaten out Channing Tatum and Harry Potter actor Tom Felton, Samuel landed the role of Riley, right-hand vampire to Bryce Dallas Howard ’s villainess, Victoria. “He’s essentially a tragic character,” Samuel says. “[Director] David Slade and I talked a lot about conveying how complex he is—he’s harboring extreme jealousy and hatred for humanity because that’s exactly what he’s been deprived of.”

WHY HE’LL LAST: Samuel’s compulsively watchable performances in Australian movies such as 2008’s Newcastle (he played a nottotally- out-of-the-closet Goth teenager struggling to find his place in a clique of hard-core surf junkies) are in part a product of working on small-budget sets filming at breakneck paces. “Most of the Australian films I’ve worked on shot for five weeks max, and a second take was a luxury. It taught me to be prepared and focused from the beginning.”

BUT IS HE READY FOR TWILIGHT-LEVEL FAME? “I haven’t quite got my hands on any brochure that says, ‘In the event that you become insanely famous, what do you do?’ But I think I can take a leaf from Rob and Kristen’s book. They’ve done a good job keeping their wits in the whirlwind of it all but also letting it get them where they want to be future-role-wise.”

PROOF HE REALLY DOES DO HIS HOMEWORK: Photos leaked on the Internet of Samuel and Howard filming their highly anticipated kissing scene, one they aptly prepped for. “Bryce and I watched YouTube clips of the best kisses in cinematic history for research,” he says. Yes, but how did he get on with the practicing? “What happens in the rehearsal room stays in the rehearsal room.”

I think Xavier will do a great job at causing some some girls to explode with excitement and I can’t wait to see him in action!!

I too was impressed with his dedication to looking the part, not so impressed with the body, though- sorry, I just do not like muscular men (nothing to do with Taylor in particular). I truly hope that he finds himself again for BD at least, since what I’ve seen of the Eclipse trailer again showed the whispery, overly-dramatic Jacob (a crime of which Robert is guilty as well at times with his portrayal of Edward- see, I’m fair : )).

Well today we went to visit my son and see his garden. He worked really hard in it and it looks so pretty. We ate supper with him and his family. he is Autumn's dad) I saw her and went to school with her mom to pick her up, so it's been a pretty full day. But I loved every minute.

I know a thousand ways to break a computer and none to fix it, my father is ashamed to call me his daughter because he mastered in electrical and computer science, and is a genius in math, and im neither good with computers or math.
school is crazy, right now im painting my toenails while i think of how to come up with a petition to make teachers recast their votes regarding to our schedule, and coming up blank.

Oh, girl, I am so in agreement with you. I noticed the copy thing the first time I saw a picture of him–wore that black wrist band Rob wore, same pants, the Rob stance, same shirt, tried to copy Rob's hair——well, we know that can't be done. He's the only one who can wear their hair the way he does. Sorry, he started off wrong with me, and I can't see any heart throb material here. But this is my opinion. hhahaha Rob cannot be copied–just don't work little man.

I literally havent watched tv in months. i used to see this novela(soap opera) but in ended like 3 or 4 months ago and since that i dont even turn the tv on.
to minimize the peeling you need to put brillo on(i dont know the name in english, but its the clear colorless shiny type of nailpolish) it goes on top of the color one and besides making it shine more, it makes it last for much longer. Well unless you do a lot of home work, like hand wash dishes and hand wash clothes, then it stays in for less time.

I think it gets most women because I am a sucker for any handsome man with an Australian, New Zealand, or British accent. I don't know to me the accent is so thick and rich with class you just melt like butter.

Howdy! true Rob cannot be copied but XS is cute and i noticed that he dresses similar but he has always dressed like that in every pic I have seen and this way before twilightmania started. Some guys just like that sloppychic look. Don't know! Don't really care much to fuss about it honey. He does have an unusual look to him though in the face. Not my cup of tea but I am sure other ladies would be attracted to.
