Zac Efron and Robert Pattinson need no introduction. They have become household-names and their popularity ratings are through the roof, and not with just the teen scene. So the question is, who will be the leading man?

Efron Wins! “If he plays his cards right, he could easily be the next Leonardo DiCaprio,” says tween-marketing specialist Ashley Dos Santos.

In addition to possessing the ability to inspire killer soundbites (like the one above), Efron can memorably model swim trunks, honorably acquit himself in an art-house movie (Me and Orson Welles), and credibly, and non-sleezily, talk strip clubs with Jimmy Kimmel. In other words, the 22-year-old is a credit to his own peer group.

“When you look at him in interviews, he has a certain approachability,” Dos Santos says. “I think if he can prove his acting chops, Efron will definitely gain acceptance among twentysomethings.”

One advantage he’s got over Pattinson? The High School Musical grad has moved off the covers of the OMG!-ing Bops of the world, per Dos Santos, while Pattinson remains in their grip, thanks to the not-yet-done Twilight franchise.

Pattinson Wins! OK, so maybe some of Team Edward’s audience is still on the young side. But at least it was never on the Wildcat-crazed tween side.

“Zac has the same ‘problem’ as Miley Cyrusin aging up the audience,” youth-marketing consultant Allison Ellis said in an email. “[Pattinson] never had this issue because audiences never met him until Twilight.”

And while Remember Me didn’t break any box-office (or critical) records, Pattinson’s world-famous mug helped the romantic weepie ultimately gross more than triple its budget. (In a crowded weekend at the multiplex, the jury’s out on whether Charlie St. Cloud will top Remember Me‘s own modest domestic opening weekend.) In any case, Pattinson is money—or at least money enough to land Reese Witherspoon for his new leading lady.

Also, his new haircut(for the Witherspoon movie, Water for Elephants)? Not a bad answer to Efron’s torso.

It just makes me mad because the paps see that he’s(and other celebs) are tired and just want to get where they are going but they just keep taking pictures. If Rob or Kristen got hurt or something then there would be riots. In all seriousness papasites(perfect word) would be popping up in hospitals everywhere. That is very screwed up all of us need to go get bodyguard licenses or whatever they are called then we smack a ho we can say we were doing pro-bono work for rob. Papasites should be allowed at the most 8 pictures, so a max of 24 pictures on one day. Then they should have to leave a celeb alone for two days. I get on my bejeweled soap box too. lol

They would be super angry. Oh and especially if they snapped pictures of their kids or something. We’d all go newborn army on them. Everyone says that if we want paps to stop hounding celebs we should not buy magazines, but we all know that won’t happen and they would still take pictures anyway. But if papasites were getting jumped then something would definitely happen. Gosh, all of this really just makes me want to go and start a magazine but a classy one, one that shows all those other mags and paps what’s up. They’d be jealous because my photogs are getting the good photos and not getting yelled at because they stop at 24 pictures for a day and don’t run after rob’s car OR jump in front of it. That’s a fear of mine and it’s a very real one. I think about Rob getting hurt and it makes me cringe. But thinking about Rob accidentally hurting someone else and how he would feel and the jail time that would follow makes me want to cry. It’d make me cry even more because nothing would happen to those flashbulb hobbits.

Haha, yep. I took theater all throughout high school(graduated in may). I think it’s fun but I definitely know I need to get better. Especially if I have an accent. It’s hard for me to keep it if I find something funny or I don’t know what a person would with that accent would say a certain word. LOL anywayz!
